Now that the Remote Play Together Beta is available to everyone with the new library update, you can play Carly and the Reaperman with distant friends even easier!
Just start up a two player game and a friend will be able to play as Carly with their own screen (see link for detailed instructions), just like if they were playing on the same computer as you.
You don´t even need to buy an extra copy, only the host needs to have a copy of the game.

Today we released version 1.26:
  • Fixed issue where controls were broken in WMR
  • Fixed issue where Carly would sometimes get stuck in doors
  • A few minor fixes with graphics and other small issues

BTW, If you are curious of why we jump from 1.22 to 1.26 it's because v 1.23-1.25 was updates that was for PSVR only, fixing issues with that platform specifically. Since launching on Playstation expect that we sometimes will publish updates on Playstation that doesn't hit PC and vice versa. This only relates to bug fixing though, when we publish new features they will always hit both platforms.

Today we uploaded a smaller patch that will solve some issues with selecting the default input method for the screen player. We also added experimental support for allowing players to customize what buttons are used in the game for both players. Note that this is an advanced and experimental feature. More info in this guide.

Carly and the Reaperman - Escape from the Underworld - johnnyjr
Version 1.21 of Carly and the Reaperman has finally been released. This release contains a few new things and a lot of fixes:
  • Translation to German, French, Spanish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and Japanese (in addition to the previously available English and Swedish)
  • Better support for Knuckles (see below)
  • A lot of levels that were to easy or to hard when playing single player have been fixed so that the game is more enjoyable regardless of how you play it
  • Fixed an issue where the game would have a weird resolution after upgrading to a newer version of Windows
  • A lot of other bug fixes and performance tweaks
The new version sadly also removes one feature - Ambient Occlusion. The reason for this is that the new version of Unity (the game engine used for the game) used to build this version removed support for AO in VR. We are sad for this and we are actively working to find a solution.

Better Knuckles support
In order for Knuckles (Valve Index Controlelrs) to work properly with the new version you will need to use our bindings. While Knuckles did work semi-ok before when playing coop, playing single-player did not work at all. Our bindings aim to fix that.
To use them:
  1. Make sure your controllers are on and are tracking
  2. In SteamVR, click the menu button in the top left corner and select Devices->Controller Settings
  3. In the Controller Settings window, on the right hand panel, select "Carly and the Reaperman"
  4. At the bottom you will see an entry called "Official binding for Index Controller", click "View"
  5. Click "Select this binding" at the bottom of the window

You should now be able to use your Knuckles without problems. If you have problems getting it to work, send an email to http://mailto:johan@oddravenstudios.com.

To celebrate Valentines Day, we launched a new version today with a couple of things that won't revolutionize your life, but hopefully you'll love them anyway:
  • A lot of challenges have been re-balanced to be a little easier
  • Revamped menu when starting a new or loading an old game. It is now easier than ever to choose to play one or two players and we have also added a Delete button so you can delete games those games you started with your old SO
  • The "Press this button to do that"-messages in the game are now a bit nicer looking
  • We added language support, which for now doesn't mean that much since the only language we've added so far is our native tongue Swedish, but look out for more languages in the future
  • Lots of polishing and removing of minor issues that players have experienced

Also, as always on special occasions, there is a surprise in the costume box for all you love birs out there!

The last update fixed an issue with gamepads not being properly recognized (Yay!), but in the process we broke input from Keyboard/Mouse (Nay!).
This important bug has now been fixed, sorry to anyone experiencing it.

A new version was uploaded today that fixes a long standing bug where controllers would not be properly recognized. Now all connected controllers should show up when choosing controller in Settings, and the game should be better at choosing the best controller as default.

There will also be a little surprise in the box of Reaperman outfits during Halloween...

While we designed Carly and the Reaperman to be a two player game, we have always wanted to allow for people to play it alone - and now you can!

Today we launched an update that adds a checkbox, both when starting a new game and continuing an old, that allows you to start the game in "Single player mode". When doing so you will control both Carly and the Reaperman at the same time. The exact controls used are outlined at the end of this post.
It is worth noting that some of the puzzles in the game are specifically designed for two players communicating and those puzzles will be very easy when you play as a single player. On the other hand - some platforming challenges will be extremely challenging when you need to both jump and build at the same time. We have not done any specific balancing for single player mode - if you choose to play it that way, you are truly on your own...

Controls HTC Vive:
The Reaperman controls are the same as usual in single player mode, you grab stuff with the trigger button, move with the menu button and bring up the menu with the left grip button.
When controling Carly you use the left touchpad to run. The right touchpad is divided into an upper half and a lower half. Press the upper half to jump and the lower to interact with things, such as levers and doors. You can also fist bump by squeezing the right grip button.
Advanced
In a future version chaning settiings for the controls will be exposed in Options, but until the you will need to locate and open a file called steamvr.ini in C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\LocalLow\Odd Raven Studios\Carly and the Reaperman. In there you can change wether you need to press down the left touchpad to move or if it is sufficient to touch it and also the sensitivities of the buttons. If you need help with this, please send a mail to johan@oddravenstudios.com.

Controls Oculus Rift:
The Reaperman controls are the same as usual in single player mode, you grab stuff with the hand trigger, move with the index trigger and bring up the menu with the menu button. You can rotate the world in increments with the right thumbstick.
When controling Carly you use the left thumbstick to run. Press A to jump and B to interact with things, such as levers and doors. You can also fist bump by pressing Y.
