Canny readers swagger up with a sneer to boast they’re not falling for it: “Rock, Paper, Shotgun hasn’t really> been ‘PC gaming since 1873’. That’s not true. I’ve caught you out.” They’re right, of course – ‘RPS’ is a cheeky act of positive spin. In truth, we started in 1872 as Rock, Paper, We’re Getting On With Kieron Just Fine Okay. Following the inquest, we rebranded to Rock, Paper, Shotgun and found the cool edge we’d lacked.

The version of Armello [official site] sold on GOG is now called Armello DRM Free Edition. What that means is DLC released on Steam isn’t on GOG. Positive rebranding!

Armello’s [official site] new DLC, Usurpers, adds all new ways to conquer the throne this month, along with a few new doe-eyed fur heroes to help you on your quest. Each new character has unique abilities to add even more depth to your quest for domination. League of Geeks is throwing in new Clan Rings, too, that provide unique stat boosts for each of the four animal clans.

“Game of Thrones of Farthing Wood,” Marsh called Armello [official site], for its woodland friends and – oh no! – devious and violent scheming as our cutesy chums vie for control of the throne. He played the Early Access version back in January and thought it had promise. Well, we’ll see how the extra seven months of development have worked out for it, as Armello last night left Early Access and properly launched.
