Hey Sanctum heroes,
We’ve been busy sweeping up loose code, disciplining unruly stairs, and banishing some particularly sneaky bugs back to whatever pit they crawled from. Your path through hell should now be smoother, sassier, and a little less “why won’t this work?”

Here’s what’s new:

  • Fixed some very suspicious stairs. They used to demand a little hop for no reason! Turns out their collision boxes went wheeee instead of staying put. They now behave like normal, polite stairs.
  • Ground collisions got a touch-up too, so you shouldn’t be tripping into invisible holes anymore.
  • Loudmouth’s (the minigun) sound bug fixed. It used to drown out every other sound in the game with its endless BRRRRRRRRT, turning every run into a one-weapon concert. You can now hear the rest of hell again 🔥
  • Third theme is back in action! We had to politely yeet the wave system (some developery black magic went slightly… wrong). Bug squashed, treasure’s piled up, and the Boss of Greed is waiting for you.

This is the last major update for Survival Hold Your Self.

Bug Fixes:

1. Compass display is no longer visible when a different UI is open.

2. Game performance improved.

3. Sound bugs at the waterfront fixed.

4. Bandits sometimes didn't attack the player. Fixed.

New Features:

You can now purchase an NPC companion from the merchant. This companion can craft items at a crafting table you can build without requiring a request, but it takes a little longer.

Windward Horizon - ArenMook
- Created an optimized way of the water shader rendering up to 64 lights with one draw call, so explosions will no longer drastically affect performance.
- Day/night transition performance optimizations.
- Lighthouses will now have a slightly lower performance cost during the day.
- Fixed provincial town inventory size not being based on the size of the town.
- Added 12 more sail patterns.
- Various changes related to raid support, such as the ability to set the respawn timer and the new cultist faction.
- Fog now affects sight range by default, matching the night time sight range.
- It's now dangerous to use grog on tentacles.
- If faction rep ranks aren't specified explicitly, they will now have reduced rep requirements for solo challenge campaigns (1000 rep for rank 3 instead of 2500, for example).
- Ship (Ship Names.txt) and town names (Town Names.txt), as well as pirate phrase translator files (Pirate Phrases.txt) can now be included in mods.
- Fixed the missing resolution choices on macbook devices above M1 by adding them manually.
- The resolution size selection will now persist properly on macbooks.

Hello Gamers!
We’ve prepared an exclusive Demo update packed with exciting improvements:

1. Added new farming crops.

2. Added the ability to manually plant crops, apply fertilizer, and harvest them.

3. Added the ability to chop down trees with an axe.

4. Added a gathering mechanic — the world now contains berry bushes and medicinal plants to collect.

5. Significantly improved the combat system — it is now target-oriented (you can switch back to the old system in settings).

6. Reworked construction — you now need to hold a hammer to build planned structures. Villagers also build faster and with better quality. Added new particles and sounds to the building process.

7. Added gamepad support.

8. Improved many animations, especially object interaction animations.

9. Added a windmill and beehives as decorative elements (in the future, they will be interactive).

10. Significantly improved NPC behaviour — they navigate better, find paths faster, and get stuck in walls less often.

11. Added quick actions in trading — holding Ctrl now adds 5 items to the cart.

12. Added a QuickBar system — you can now place food, tools, and equipment in the quick access bar for fast use when needed.

13. Overhauled lighting system, significantly improving game optimization and atmosphere.

14. Other improvements — sounds, lighting, interface, world, and buildings.
