Plague Inc: Evolved - Ndemic James


It’s the holiday season – time to infect the world with happiness! Boring governments have banned holidays, laughter and celebrations. Luckily, the Neurax Worm has teamed up with Santa and is determined to infect the whole world with joy and happiness.

On top of this, we have added a Teleportation scenario - Highly advanced technology has created the opportunity to travel through a portal and teleport to other countries. Where will they go?

We've also added loads of new achievements for Simian Flu and a few others. Still waiting for someone to work out how to do "Film Fanatic" properly though :p

There are of course a range of other fixes/tweaks/improvements, including the ability to download scenario files from the Steam Cloud so that you can easily work on a custom scenario from a different machine.

With the Scenario Creator fully functional (and people making awesome stuff)- we are now focusing on the multiplayer mode. We have some very buggy versions being played between the team, and we are very excited about it. More news in January

The most powerful Scenario Creator update yet is live! Now you can make killer robots stampede through countries, have zombies that spontaneously explode, or just put the entire population of Greenland in a rocket and send them to the moon! The only limit is your imagination (and scripting skills :P).

The Events Lab adds vast scripting / mod options on top of all the other labs you can already use. Many Custom Scenarios have great storylines, however they still have the standard Plague Inc. pop ups appearing halfway through. Now you have the ability to remove standard events and script your own.

Better still, this gives you the opportunity to drastically change gameplay partway through. At the moment you can only set up how the game starts and how the governments respond, but with the Events Lab you can tweak variables (however small or large) at different intervals throughout the game. The scenario can react to the player, and the player will have to react to the scenario. There is a mountain of new variables/mechanisms that can be accessed now, from changing difficulty halfway through a game to bringing people back from the dead as normal healthy people (not as zombies!).

This update gives you an amazing amount of scope to do some really radical things with the Scenario Creator. We are looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

With the Scenario Creator almost complete, development time is shifting over to Multiplayer. I'm having a great time as I get to pull out my design hat and develop new systems that really shine in a player vs player environment. The current focus is competitive multiplayer and we will move onto co-operative multiplayer after that.

I'm amazed by the quality of custom scenarios that the community is making and one piece of feedback we have repeatedly got is that people want to be able to translate their scenarios without having to make multiple different versions on the Steam Workshop as this splits the community.

Your wish is my command and I am pleased to say that we have therefore added the ability to have multiple languages for your scenario which means that people can play the scenario in their own language! If their language isn't available, then the creator can also set which language it will default to in this case.

This update also includes a number of tweaks and fixes for the game - see change log below.

I'm keen to make sure that great custom scenarios get discovered by players and we are starting to look at them to see which scenarios should be featured. There are load of scenarios to look at so if you are interested in helping out - then please follow this link to become a Custom Scenario Creator Judge.

Our Early Access journey continues and the next Evolution (12) will add immense power to the Scenario Creator in the form of the Events Lab. This will allow you to create game-changing events and narrative pop ups for your scenario using powerful mod/scripting tools. The only limit is your imagination :P

We are also hard at work on multiplayer now and are having a lot of fun testing it in Office Zero. Will share more news soon!

Plague Inc: Evolved - Ndemic James
We've been working on quite a few different things recently, and that has all come together into one big update which has something for everyone, both in the Main Game and the Scenario Creator.

Zombies, Mind Control, Intelligent Apes and more come to the Scenario Creator!
The Scenario Creator has been a huge success already, and we can't wait to see what people do now that they can modify all of Plague Inc.'s diseases, as well as controlling the actions that Governments take to respond to diseases.

Diseases revamped and human AI improved
We've been analysing everyone's feedback on the core game over the last few months, and so have adjusted Prion and Parasite to make sure they encourage different strategies. Trojan planes from the Neurax Worm have also been tweaked. Last, but definitely not least, we have made significant improvements to human AI routines which control the identification and response to infectious disease threats.

Access to Necroa Virus and Cheats
The zombie making Necroa Virus is one of the hardest diseases, and many people find it difficult to lead their zombie armies to victory against the mighty Z Com. As a result, we have moved Necroa so that people will encounter it later in the game. We've also opened up some of the cheats to more players by making the core ones unlock on normal difficulty. You still have to beat everything on mega-brutal to unlock the final ones though...


As always, there is still lots more to come. We are currently working on expanding Scenario Creator functionality further, to let you create game-changing events and narrative pop ups for your scenario using powerful mod/scripting tools. After that we will be working on multiplayer, and then we will be doing final optimisation, porting (linux) and polish to get ready to leave Early Access! Not giving a date yet though :P

  • Government Actions Lab added to expand mod options
Main Game
  • Major gameplay update to core disease types following player feedback, particularly Parasite, Prion and the Neurax Worm
  • Necroa and Prion unlock order switch, and basic cheats unlocked by beating all diseases on normal
  • Tooltip overhaul throughout the game
  • Upgraded human AI, making life more difficult for any potential world-ending pathogen
