Step into the mirror, Captains – you may never be the same. Star Trek Online is proud to announce Reflections, our newest story update, launching after maintenance today. The Terran Emperor is up to something so dastardly, that Admiral Leeta from the Mirror Universe has come to you for help. Can you save both realities from tyranny? Or will you fall to the darkness on the looking glass’s other side? Reflections stars the returning Chase Masterson, playing Leeta, the role she originated on Deep Space Nine. Leeta has been a thorn in the side of the Federation for years – can those differences be put aside? Can you even trust her?

But that’s not all. Reflections also comes with the first content from Star Trek: Lower Decks in STO. You’ll be able to obtain and command the Parliament Class, popularized as the U.S.S. Vancouver in the animated comedy, as well as obtaining some of the weapons used by Starfleet on that show. In our new Task Force Operation, “Operation: Wolf”, you’ll invade the Mirror version of Earth Space Dock, experiencing the tyrannical universe’s version for the very first time. After an honorable and epic Year of Klingon, the time has come to end the story that began with House Divided. L'Rell, as played by Mary Chieffo, is back from the dead, and leading an army to retake the Empire from the Mad Emperor, J'mpok. Whether you are a loyal Klingon Warrior, or one of the other factions taking part in the world of 2411, you've been along for the ride, experiencing the destruction of New Khitomer, clearing your name, and the shattering of the Klingon Empire. Now, you, Martok (J.G. Hertzler from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and J'ula must stand against J'mpok to reunite and restore honor to the Klingon people.

This battle will take you around the empire, in the mission "Leap of Faith," and to Qo'nos itself in the mission "Warriors of the Empire," and the Task Force Operation, "Remain Klingon." For the first time in a long time, the story of the final battle will be told in both the mission and the TFO, giving you a chance to experience both the ground and space battles for the Klingon homeworld. Participating in these, and new patrols based off of "Leap of Faith," will progress you in the "Only Qo'nos Endures" special event. Completing that event grants you the powerful Imperial Assault ground set. And finally, the Discovery: Far from Home Lock Box lets you obtain the technology of the 32nd Century, as seen in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3.

We're proud to announce that House Reborn is now live on PC! Experience an epic story through two new episodes starring J.G. Hertzler, Robert O'Reilly, Rekha Sharma, and our two newest cast members. Sam Witwer is stepping into the shoes of Kenneth Mitchell, taking on the role of Tenavik under Ken's direction. And Mary Chieffo is joining the story as well, reprising her role of L'Rell from the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery. What role could L'Rell have to play in this tale? But that's not all. With the release of this new update, we've completed our rework of the Klingon Starting Experience. Begin a new Klingon character now to experience the classic story, brought to the modern era with redesigned levels, updated character and environment art, new cutscenes, new voiceovers, and more. For the first time, you'll be able to experience that story as a Klingon from the Discovery era. It's the perfect time to be a Klingon - not least of which because the Klingon Recruitment Event begins today as well. Your new Klingon will be embroiled in a mysterious story, hunting down Enemies of the Empire for a shadowy benefactor. Play through the game as a Klingon, and unlock new Recruit rewards, like an exclusive T6 Ship, the M'Chla Refit! And of course, when you reach level 65 with any KDF character, you'll unlock the ability to fly every ship in the game across your entire account.

On top of all of that, it's our 11th Anniversary! Our game has officially been going strong for more than a decade now, and we want to celebrate with you. Join in the Anniversary Event through playing much of the new story content, or through playing the classic Omega Molecule Stabilization Game. Doing so will allow you to progress towards unlocking the first ever ship designed in concert between the Klingons and Romulans, the Temer-class Raider. Following the events of June’s House Divided, Captains found themselves on the run, accused of a crime they didn’t commit. Chancellor J’mpok of the Klingon Empire has gone mad with power and jealousy, partnering with Aakar, Gowron’s grandfather, to devastate the peaceful planet of Khitomer. Attempting to destroy all his enemies at once, he framed this crime on the renegade Klingon Matriarch J’ula, legendary General Martok, and you. Now, this ramshackle alliance must find a way to clear their names and try and set things right. With help from the mysterious Witch of Nimbus III, Adet'pa, they might do it, but even that won’t set everything right. If J’mpok is removed from power, there is nothing standing in J’ula’s way of seizing control – and she may be no better than the Mad Chancellor.

House Shattered is our latest story update to Star Trek Online. In it, you’ll find a brand new episode, “Partisans,” where Captains can team up with Martok, J’ula, Adet'pa and the crew of the Orion Syndicate ship The Coldstar, in a race to find the evidence to clear their names. J.G Hertzler as Martok, Robert O’Reilly as Aakar, and Rekha Sharma as Adet'pa all return to Star Trek Online in this brand new adventure that advances the story began in House Divided.

In addition, a brand new Task Force Operation, Synth Wave, takes Captains to the infamous invasion of Mars from Star Trek: Picard. With Utopia Planetia’s android workforce in revolt, how many lives can you save? This scenario brings a brand new gameplay style, with an ever-shrinking environment and wave after wave of Synth ships closing in.

With House Shattered, we’re also adding a brand new ship to the Infinity Lock Box, the Mirror Warship. This Constitution-class ship is overhauled by technology from the Mirror Universe, and turned into a devastating flagship of the Empress. Five new items from Star Trek: Enterprise are joining the Lobi Store, allowing access to long awaited items like the M.A.C.O. Rifle.

The Experimental Upgrade System is live today as well. For a limited time, everyone in the game gets one of these tokens for free, allowing them to add a Device Slot, a Console Slot, and a new Trait Slot to their favorite T5-U or T6 ships. Fleet versions of each of these starships will unlock upon completing your Fleet Starbase’s Tier 2 Shipyard. The standard Fleet Module discounts apply if you have purchased the ships from the C-Store.

For the first time ever, non-Romulan characters will be able to fly the Warbird included in this bundle! Similarly, non-Dominion characters will be able to fly the Vanguard Warship in this bundle right away – no Tier 6 Mastery involved!

Additionally, the traits and consoles from these ships adjust slightly to theme to your faction! All starships come with the same console, but the passive boost will change which energy type it boosts. For Starship Traits, the both the name and the damage type affected will change. In both cases, Dominion captains will be getting a boost to Polaron weaponry, Romulan captains to Plasma weaponry, Klingon captains to Disruptor weaponry, and Starfleet captains to Phaser weaponry, as fits their signature weapons.

These starships all have a Commander-rank Temporal Operative Bridge Officer seat, and are considered Primary Specialization starships of the Temporal Operative type. As a result, they all come with the “Molecular Reconstruction” set of starship abilities.



Molecular Reconstruction Mechanic
Temporal Starships are capable of making subtle alterations on the molecular level through the use of Molecular Reconstruction. This technology allows the starship to assume 1 of 3 different Configurations: Defensive, Offensive and Support. Additionally, the player may choose to have no active Configuration. Each Configuration has its own strengths and weaknesses. Each of the Configurations generates their own specific counter. A ship may have up to 6 Configuration Counters at a time. After reaching 6 Counters, any additionally generated ones will be lost. These Counters are used to fuel your Molecular Deconstruction Beam.

Defensive Configuration
While this configuration is active, the starship's systems will dynamically reconfigure to fill more of a defensive role. This provides a boost to Maximum Shield Power and Incoming Hull Healing. This comes at a cost of a small reduction to Flight Speed and Turn Rate. Defensive Configuration generates 1 Defensive Counter every 10 seconds.

Offensive Configuration
While this configuration is active, the starship's systems will dynamically reconfigure to fill more of an offensive role. This provides a boost to Maximum Engine Power, Speed, and Turn. This comes at a cost of a small reduction of Incoming Hull Healing. Offensive Configuration generates 1 Offensive Counter every 10 seconds.

Support Configuration
While this configuration is active, the starship's systems will dynamically reconfigure to fill more of a support role. This provides a boost to Maximum Auxiliary Power, Control Expertise skill, and Exotic Damage. This comes at a cost of a small reduction to Energy Weapon Damage. Support Configuration generates 1 Support Counter every 10 seconds.

Molecular Deconstruction Beam
Activating this ability requires a total of 6 Counters generated by Defensive Configuration, Offensive Configuration, or Support Configuration. Molecular Deconstruction Beam deals Physical Damage over time and Disables the target, in addition to healing your hull over time. This power's damage scales with the number of Offensive Counters consumed. Its Hull Healing scales with the number Defensive Counters consumed. Lastly, its Disable duration scales with the number of Support Counters consumed. Activating this ability will consume all Offensive, Defensive and Support Counters generated from Configurations.

When you activate this console, your ship will launch quantum-laced projectiles at foes in front of you for several seconds. These projectiles entangle their quantum signature with particles inside of your foes' shields, allowing them to bypass shielding entirely, and explode in a large area with each impact.

Captains, I am very proud to welcome you to the next story in Star Trek Online’s proud history, Rise of Discovery. We’re so excited to share this new voyage with you, and we’re even happier that we get to do it with Jason Isaacs and Rekha Sharma!

We’ve been running parallel to a Star Trek TV show for the first time in our history, and Rise of Discovery tells the story of a pivotal moment in the lives of both Gabriel Lorca and Ellen Landry. You’ll get to experience the events that brought them both to the first episode of Star Trek: Discovery, and you’ll get to be a part of the story alongside them.

But that’s not everything we’ve got for you. We wanted to make the experience of commanding a Tier 6 ship – the best ships in the game – a more inclusive one. Now, you can start commanding these ships at level one, and they’ll become more powerful with you. Be like Captain Picard, and grow and change with your hero ship throughout your entire career.

The Discovery Legends reputation is going to give you the opportunity to unlock some of the powers and tech used by the heroes of Star Trek: Discovery, and you’ll be doing it with an all new mark type that you can get from playing the newly returned Defense of Starbase One, Pahvo Dissention, Peril over Pahvo, and Operation: Riposte. Now you can dive into these former Featured TFOs whenever you want, and work to unlock brand new rewards.

It’s been a wonderful journey. 2018 saw the acclaimed release of Star Trek Online’s 4th major expansion – Victory is Life! It was here Captains explored the Gamma Quadrant and encountered the Hur’q threat alongside our beloved DS9 characters, voiced by the original actors in the largest cast ever assembled for Star Trek Online. For the first time, players created Jem’Hadar Captains, battled heroically in one of our most ambitious Battlezones to date and walked the promenade on our faithfully recreated Deep Space Nine station. We are incredibly proud of Victory is Life and we’re very pleased that so many players enjoyed it.

Alas, time does fly. The back half of the year found us phaser focused on setting the stage for our Discovery-era expansion. While not an expansion in the traditional Star Trek Online-sense, we instead wanted to do something a little different and develop this over multiple releases. Unbelievably, Star Trek: Discovery marks the first time that we’ve operated in lockstep with a live Trek TV show. This affords us many unique opportunities to evolve our plans based on the direction of the show and input from the players.

Enter 2019. Our journey advances deeper into the Star Trek: Discovery universe with the forthcoming launch of Mirror of Discovery. We have many fun surprises planned including a thrilling new story featuring Mary Wiseman as the Terran Empire’s Captain “Killy”, exploration of planet Pahvo, amazing new ships for players to fly, challenging new threats to overcome and a massive expansion of our Endeavors system.

Captains, welcome to Age of Discovery! This is a landmark event for Star Trek Online as it marks the first time that the game has run in parallel with a live Trek television show. We are already experiencing fantastic new synergies collaborating closely with CBS and the show writers. Captains will experience this right away in a reimagined Federation starting experience working alongside Cadet Sylvia Tilly (voiced by Discovery's Mary Wiseman) as players set out on epic, multi-release adventures.

In AoD’s maiden voyage, players will journey to iconic locations from Star Trek: Discovery, exploring the depths of the Dilithium Mines of Corvan II, boarding the new experimental Crossfield class starship, the U.S.S. Glenn, and defending Starbase 1 from a fearsome attack by the Klingon House of D’Ghor. Captains will also come face to face with the vicious J'Ula, matriarch of the House of Mo'Kai and sister of T'Kuvma who will stop at nothing to reunite the Klingon Empire.

This however is just the beginning in Age of Discovery. Multiplayer missions, formerly known as “Queues” have been expanded and rebranded as Task Force Operations (TFO). This change is certainly not in name only. Throughout AoD, we will be introducing exciting new TFOs that advance the narrative, while remastering and recreating others. This kicks off with the all-new TFO, Defense of Starbase 1, followed shortly thereafter by our first Featured Task Force Operation – Battle at the Binary Stars. In this new 3-Week Event, players will have an opportunity to earn exclusive rewards fighting side-by-side with fellow captains in one of the most important battles in Federation history.

Additionally, Task Force Operations introduce a new engagement feature, which offers captains big bonus payouts for supporting other players by joining Random TFOs. This new Random TFO feature further ensures that all captains will easily find groups to experience all the diverse TFO content in the game. Is there is particular TFO that you have never played or have trouble finding groups for? We've got you covered here as well. Select the Task Force Operation that you want to play and it will be quickly filled by other players seeking out the Random TFO bonuses! Stay tuned, as there is much more in the works for this evolving feature.

We’ve also completely overhauled the Mission Journal. Careful handling has gone into this undertaking, ensuring that our very best stories are presented to players early in the leveling experience. Some episodes have or will be undergoing a remastering process while others have become optional. Another big change here is the removal of level requirements. With the exception of certain pivotal episodes (for training and continuity purposes), players will no longer be level gated in the experience. Captains will also notice that many previously gated Task Force Operations are now unlocked while leveling. This gives newer players greater access to play with friends, get a taste of the end game experience and a huge head start on Reputation Marks.

And speaking of Reputations, this system has been expanded in Age of Discovery as well. All current reputations have been raised to Tier 6! There are fantastic rewards to be found here including, improved reputation traits, damage improvements for reputation weaponry, Fleet Ship Modules, vanity materials, account-wide reputation gear discounts and much more.

In short, building this first installment in Age of Discovery and working with Mary Wiseman has been an amazing experience for our development team. Additionally, we want to thank you for all the great feedback and continued support! While we have many more stories and features planned in the coming months, we are thrilled to be launching Age of Discovery: Part 1 next week!
