The Steam version of 99 Spirits has been updated to version 2.0, bringing along a slew of changes prepared by developer TORaIKI based on user feedback, and adding an all-new mini game that unlocks bonus illustrations!

New Mini Game
Put your Tsukumogami-identifying skills to the test in the new mini-game that's unlocked at a certain point in the story. Playable from the main menu, aim for mission-specific goals and achievements to unlock cute new bonus illustrations!

New Game Mode
The game has now two game modes, one of which has changes to features such as Tsukumogami identification and equipping Tsukugami.
You can choose either Normal or Casual when starting a new game.
(With existing savedata, you can switch from Normal to Casual from the Config screen.)

Expanded the Identification System and Battles

Identification Rate
On Normal mode, each enemy appears with a gauge which gets filled with three successful Tsukumogami identificatons, and once it's filled the identification process to that enemy will be skipped.

Casual Mode
Every enemy can be fully identifiable with one successful identification.
(For those who want to enjoy the story more comfortably.)

Battle Skip
With a high enough player level, enemies are defeated automatically.
This saves plenty of time spent fighting battles.

Faster Answering Feature

You can now choose direct keyboard input or Spirit Index to make your answers from by default.
This allows for answering faster than ever.

Tsukumogami Always Equippable from List

On Normal mode, you first have to equip the target Tsukumogami in the regular way, and then you can equip it whenever you like.

On Casual mode, you can equip it immediately after you have identified it.
This saves a lot of walking and makes it easier to replace one Tsukumogami with another.

Critical Stun Attacks / More Powerful Counterattacks

Every counterattack becomes a critical hit that comes with the occasional stun effect. This makes counterattacks more effective than ever.

Checking/Equipping Tsukumogami during Battle

You can now check and/or equip or unequip Tsukumogami through the Info button while fighting battles. This allows you to fight more strategically.

Checking Acquired Hints

The hints acquired with Gem 1 now show up in the Help column and stay there. (You can turn this feature off.)

Balancing the Whole Game

A lot of changes have been made to HP healing frequency, evasion frequency, enemy HP and defense, and the game is now more comfortable to play than before.

Gem Upgrade

You can now upgrade the Gems from the main menu screen.
Visiting the shrine for this purpose is no longer necessary, and you can even upgrade them during the Night Parade.

Autosave
The game state is now saved at every step of Hanabusa's journey! You can resume from autosave by selecting Load Game -> Resume Game in the main menu.

Less Inconvenience

Gem 2 no longer breaks in chapter 5 and unequips the Tsukumogami in it.

Both the English and Japanese versions have been updated with the new content.

We hope you'll enjoy these revisions to the game!
