If you've ever worried about food as you dive down into The Pit, this long weekend (starting today) is a good day to jump in, fill your pack with poultry, and give it your best shot.

Don't worry, these wild turkey's haven't had to survive in The Pit. They can't hurt you. In fact, they may want to be eaten.

Besides being able to pick up The Pit Gold (which contains the base game and the first two DLC expansions) for 75% off (upgrade to Gold at 50% off), The Pit has been updated with some Halloween treats, including two new achievements;

Haven't found the recipe for crafting a Fear Lantern? It's been out since last Halloween, but if you want to get down to carving instead of hacking consoles, here's the recipe;

pumpkin + sparker + scent gland + razorteeth

And for one week, the upper layers of The Pit will give you ample Ghoul targets - don't panic, stay calm, conserve your ammo, aim for the head. The achievements will remain, so don't worry if you don't manage to get this this week.

In a simultaneous release, Kerberos Productions has unveiled new DLC for their two most recent games, Sword of the Stars: The Pit and Sword of the Stars: Ground Pounders. As both feature the alien Tarka race it was only natural to name this Tark Week!

The Pit: Juggernaut introduces Pit fans to a new playable character, the Tarka mercenary, Tor. The Juggernaut DLC adds new weapons and weapon variants, new items, new monsters, and over 50 new craft recipes, including ammo conversion recipes! Found lots of ammo, but for the wrong gun? There’s a recipe for that. The addition of Tor brings the number of player characters in the series to 11!

“After all the other characters we tossed into The Pit”, Said producer Christopher Stewart. “Fans were keen to play as a Tarkas changed male, one of the largest and most powerful characters in the SotSverse, and our loremaster Arinn Dembo was more than happy to oblige.”

Yesterday we formally announced that Sword of the Stars: The Pit was a full Steamplay title. The Mac version had been out for awhile, and the Linux version was available the last few weeks, but we wanted to knock some bugs out before telling the world. Which we did, formally, yesterday.

We then went on to say that the Pilgrim DLC, the content addition to the game that followed the Gold edition, would be available soon.

Turns out that "soon" meant "tomorrow". But who's complaining, right?

So, if you own a copy of the Pilgrim DLC, you can now apply it to your Mac and Linux, as well as PC version of the game!
