Hey everyone. As promised earlier we are releasing a fresh pack of content for Zombie Driver HD this week. It is called the Apocalypse Pack and it includes two awesome cars available in all game modes, plus an extra Slaughter Mode map - the Military Base.

Both of the new cars are guest appearances from our earlier project - D.I.P.R.I.P., which was a multi player car combat game released in 2008 as a free Source Engine mod. The first of the two is called the "Chaos 126p" and it's a small and nimble monster truck (as far as monster trucks can be small, anyway). It's very fast and handles incredibly well in tight corners. The second one is a huge custom made truck with jet engine exhausts called the "Auroch". It can ram through anything on it's path, has lot's of nitro and can carry up to 8 passengers in the Story Mode.

The Military Base Slaughter mode map is one of the larger levels and as the name implies it's a based in an abandoned army depot. If Slaughter Mode was about ice skating I could say that it's the perfect place for making beautiful loops in harmony with soul touching music, but fortunately it's not so you can exchange loops for insanely long combos and soul touching music for the sound of metal ploughing through hundreds of zombies.

The main differences between Zombie Driver and the Zombie Driver HD are:

After several months of work we are proud to announce a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS7rYL-oyMU&hd=1">short video</a> showcasing the ingame mayhem that is coming with the second free expansion for Zombie Driver called the "Blood Race".
This time players will be able to race against other zombie apocalypse survivors in a brutal tournament in which the only rule is survival of the quickest.
New exclusively created race tracks are full of destructible elements as well as hordes of zombies that try their best to prevent contestants from finishing the race.

On top of that, thanks to many player votes, Zombie Driver has been nominated for the Racing Game of the Year in the 28th Annual Golden Joystick Awards!
Being nominated together with games like the Need For Speed series, Dirt 2, Forza Motorsport 3 and other magnificent titles is a great honour!

Today we wanted to give a little sneak peak into the new game mode called the Blood Race. We have mentioned it for some time and now we can confirm that it is coming very soon. It features completely different game mechanics since the goal in this mode will be in general to outrun other cars or... to blow them up! For that matter you will have a collection of Zombie Driver classy cars plus one new addition to the stable! Of course you will be able to use all weapons that you can find and upgrade in the shop.

Our work on the next big update for Zombie Driver is steadily progressing forward so in the mean time we have added 5 new blood soaking avatars to the Official Steam Community Group. If you'd like to change your image feel free to take your pick.

We have been recently experimenting with a new way of viewing Steam Leaderboards. As a result we have just launched a beta Facebook application that collects and aggregates all Steam Leaderboards data.

You can now check your own or your friends' online standings directly from within a web browser. We have also added a new feature called Global Leaderboard which sums the points from all maps for an individual player. We are very interested in hearing your feedback about this new idea and how you would like us to improve, expand or change any features. We have updated the Steam version of Zombie Driver to receive more info about game crashes.
The game should update itself (to version 1.1.2b) by now or you can restart your Steam to get the update.
You can check your version in the ogre.log (new log file will be generated AFTER you run the game) located in this directory:
- Vista/ Windows7 - C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\ZombieDriver\
- Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\AppData\ZombieDriver\


There is a new debug executable in this directory:
steamapps\common\zombie driver\RelWithDebInfo\Debug.exe

If you experience any crashes run the debug.exe and try to crash the game again. New memory dump files should appear.
Attach a memory dump file and Ogre.log file which can be found here:

The exact location depends on which windows version you have and may be slightly different.

Some of you may have already noticed the news about the update on our web page. The update is coming to all Steam users later today. We can't give you the exact time yet, but all of the files are ready and waiting to be published.

The "Slaughter" update is now almost ready and will be coming early next week. We haven't posted any new media in some time so we prepared a few screenshots of the new maps that will be in the update which you can view on the www.zombiedriver.com website.

All of the new maps have different lighting conditions that create a unique mood. We have also included one arena in pitch black night setting with dynamic projected car headlights known from the Darkness mod. You can also notice an improved combo system that now includes car explosion kills as well as fat zombie kills. There is also a huge list of other new features coming which we will list as soon as the update goes live.
