Worldy Cup - tommosaur

Main changes in this update:

-One can choose to play as captain or team in retro arcade mode
(So whether one only switches manually between players with for example L Trigger on joypad and gives team commands to team mates or it always switches one to the player closest to the ball automatically)

-graphics improvements
-one can choose between retro voxel arcade mode and experimental realistic mode up front
-various other UI changes
-some small bugs fixed
-added rift touch controller support
-engine upgrade to support some rendering and general performance improvements, and for VR to add single pass rendering (which should make things run way better on weaker setups)

Under the hood the engine upgrade was a lot of work with many changes involved so please let me know if you encounter any issues.

Main changes and additions in this build:

*general:
-added graphics settings menu (accessed via settings menu, shows different setting options in VR and non vr mode, allows trading nicer look for performance/fps)
-default graphics settings are a bit higher than before

-better UI positioning in VR
-fixed mouse or vive pointer on buttons blocking directional input from keyboard and mouse and the other way round

*retro voxel arcade mode:
-added switching between players using LB on joypad, or Grip button on vive controller or Q on keyboard
so one can still give team commands to team mates but also just switch to the one closest to the ball to control him directly
-made playing field(s) 20% bigger (to allow a bit more tactical gameplay)
-only reducing super shot energy on second+ hit of bubble shield (so it's still tough to grab for goalies on first reflect)
-opponents will try to do bike kicks sometimes and have a few other tweaks to their AI

*realistic mode A:
-improved shot aiming some

*realistic mode B:
-npcs don't accelerate unrealistically (and unfairly) fast anymore

Worldy Cup - tommosaur
I saw a youtube video on Worldy Cup, which, besides being fun, was also very helpful for me to see a few things i have to explain better and make more intuitive in upcoming builds.
For the meantime, some quick tips for when getting started with the game:

*Wifi Multiplayer and Windows Firewall Popup:

Worldy Cup can not just be played single player and multiplayer on the same computer with several connected joypads, but also in Wifi Multiplayer between several devices in a wifi network.
To allow doing that, it will try to check for computers connected on the wifi network, which brings up a windows popup asking if you want to allow that in your firewall settings the first time. When you don't allow it, the game can still be played in single player or multiplayer on a single computer, but will not work when you choose the option "join mp game" and you can't start a wifi multiplayer game.
I'll change it to explain this in game, but wanted to mention it here for now so you know why the popup is shown and that you have to allow the connection to make wifi multiplayer work.

*Game speed:

Worldy Cup is fast paced and when you play it the first time and if it feels too hectic you can set the game speed lower in the match settings menu and you can set it higher again later once you have a feel for the gameplay and controls.

*Retro Voxel Arcade Mode and Experimental realistic mode(s) :

Right now the match settings menu shows a row where one can choose between Voxel Arcade Mode and two experimental realistic modes.

In Voxel Arcade mode the art style is in retro voxel 3D look and one can collect powerups, do super shots and one always plays as the captain of the team and can give team commands to your team mates to do slides, tackles, shoot and pass.

In experimental realistic mode A there are no powerups and super shots (yet) and instead of giving team commands to your team mates one switches between the players to control them directly.

(As the game is in development these things may change and i'll likely make some of these things adjustable in upcoming early access builds)

*Controls in Retro Voxel Mode:

-Running:
run by pressing the run button and sprint faster by tapping the run button repeatedly. The faster you tap it the faster you can run, but an over heat meter will fill up and you get fouled when it is full.

-Team Commands:
You can tell your team mates to slide, tackle, pass and shoot by pressing the buttons for those actions. So you can tell them to pass to you or shoot at the goal.
They will shoot less precisely when you tell them to shoot while they only had the ball a very short while.

-Powerups and super shots:
-You can collect powerups on the powerup fields.
When you collect a bubble shield you can use it to deflect super shots and it also protects you from getting fouled by a slide.

When you collect a super shot powerup you can charge a super shot by pressing the shoot button until the meter fills up.

One can also do super shots in a few other ways like doing a strong bike kick when timing pressing the shoot button well when receiving the ball mid air.

Please let me know if anything else is not intuitive enough or well explained or you just have some questions on something.

I'll push to make some of the things more intuitive and explain a few others better ingame but i hope these quick tips are helpful for a start =)

So i wanted to see what it would be like to play in a larger life size stadium with more realistic looking players in VR.
Well, i gave it a try and this update, among other things, adds two experimental more realistic modes.
One can simply choose between retro voxel arcade mode and the two experimental more realistic modes in the new match settings menu.

I wanted to test different setups for VR for a few things in those two more realistic modes, so both of them are at quite different feature level on a few fronts.
In experimental realistic mode A AI is more progressed than in the other.
In Mode A one can also switch between the players manually with LB on the joypad and it will also switch between players automatically.

In Mode A when one presses the right trigger to sprint it is more like a short burst sprint and then the player gets slower,
in Mode B one can not just run with more constant speed by pressing the right trigger but also rapid tap sprint faster the faster one presses the right trigger.
(so more like in the voxel retro arcade version)

Both of those can only be played in single player locally and with a joypad right now.

Besides that, i don't want to talk too much about the differences and features, i'd like to let you have a go at it and let me know if you think it would be cool to develop a more realistic mode further and keep that part of Worldy Cup.

Also let me know what you like/dislike in both, what you'd like to
see added/changed and any other feedback you have on it =)

A warning note on this:
Since i'm testing different cam angles and camera movement types in VR in these experimental modes, some of these may be nauseating for some players.
If you get nauseated by automatic cam movement in VR best set the camera to follow no one and play seated before you try any of the other cam settings.

As a cam test, i'd like to know if when you play experimental realistic mode A in closeup cam distance in VR and it automatically switches between players and the cam scrolls fast to the new player,
if that is comfortable to you or nauseating (and if so then also if any of the other cam settings besides the follow no one static cam option is comfortable for you)

Regarding the visuals i'd like to know if you prefer the scale feel of the world/players more in Realistic Mode A or B when playing in VR.

And movement side i'd like to know if you prefer the walking/running/sprinting more the way it is in experimental realistic mode A or B.

Some of the other new things in this build:
-One can change match duration and gameplay (running) speed
in the new match settings menu (this does not take full fleshed out effect in experimental realistic mode A yet)
-Made normal shots by human players in retro voxel arcade mode a bit more powerful, they felt too weak sauce before
