This is merely a change in the placement of the game in Steams game store. There are no changes made to the game or how it’s sold other than that the free version (previously known as War of the Roses Demo) is now just War of the Roses. If you purchased War of the Roses: Kingmaker, everything will continue as before. Nothing has changed in the packaging or what you get with the various versions.

So here is how it looks now:
War of the Roses (F2P) contains 4 base locked profiles and the Conquest + Team Death Match game modes.
War of the Roses: Kingmaker contains all game modes (Conquest, TDM, Pitched Battle, and Assault) and the ability to customize additional character profiles.

To confirm whether or not you have the Kingmaker edition, right click the game in your Steam library and select "View Downloadable content".

We got badges, game cards, emoticons, and Profile Backgrounds that you get for just playing. That's right, you just get them for playing the game. Now go collect them while they're hot

The War of the Roses Beta 1.7.0 patch is now live! With this patch we're giving you the chance to test all four upcoming handgonnes as well more fresh gear and a new map.

The War of the Roses Beta is available for all current WotR players as a second game in your steam library. This is downloaded separately from your main game so that you can have them both simultaneously! On the beta you have the chance to test new content, balance and gear - but also to play with everything currently released as you are both max ranked and own every unlock!

This update brings balance changes, new Swiss Mercenary gear as well as many bugfixes and tweaks.

Today we launch our official Leaderboards site. Currently the site is in beta and we are planning to add more functions, stats and details as we go along.

Ranking is currently based on kills (knockdowns + instakills) and the leaderboard is updated every 6 hours.

Some stats are a little off right now, for example played games and kills do not match properly. Due to this we have temporarily hidden a few stats while we sort this out.

If something looks odd, doesn't work or is behaving strangely - please contact us and we will make sure to fix it ASAP.

We would like to remind our players that exploiting unintended functions in War of the Roses in order to gain coins is in direct conflict with section §7H of the EULA.

Do not join servers that advertise exp/coin farming or partake in such exploits on other servers. This may result in your WotR account's coin balance and unlocks being reset.

Greetings community!

As some of you may have noticed the War of the Roses Beta is now live. You will need to restart steam if you can't see it in your library yet.

Servers will become available one by one during the day. There will be 6 EU, 4 US and 2 AU servers once they are all live, one "duel server" each for EU and US.

Handgonnes will be made available during Thursdays <b>only</b> in order to focus test them. We will start out by providing access to one at a time.

Please make sure to leave beta feedback in either the dedicated SteamHub for War of the Roses Beta or in the Paradoxplaza Beta forum.

Dear War of the Roses player,

We need your help to test upcoming content, balance and fixes!

On Monday (May 6th) 10:00 CEST we will release the War of the Roses Beta to everyone who owns WotR. It will appear as a new game in your Steam library and will work just like any normal game.

In order to participate you need to download this new game. This will in no way harm your current War of the Roses install.

The Beta version has all new content, fixes, maps, balance and more. Every player starts at maximum level with all content unlocked - all in order to make sure you have the easiest and most fun time possible helping us test.
