War Thunder

Added as part of War Thunder's Supersonic 1.85 update back in December, this week we're sending PC Gamer Club Legendary members a key for the MTB-18 ship pictured above. These codes work globally, so no matter where you are, you can sign up and get a key sent to your inbox. This ship would normally set you back 250 Golden Eagles. The codes expire on February 10th, so we'll only be sending them out until this Saturday. If you've never played War Thunder before, you can download it via Steam, or get it directly here. The keys redeem on the War Thunder website.

The PC Gamer Club brings a whole bunch of other benefits, too: exclusive in-game items, a monthly magazine, game keys. You can sign up to the Legendary tier for only $5 a month.

War Thunder

War Thunder has introduced its first supersonic jet, letting pilots hurtle through the skies until they throw up their breakfast. It’s part of the MMO’s largest expansion of the year, Supersonic, which chucks 50 new vehicles into the eternal war, including ground and naval vehicles. Check out the trailer above.

Each of War Thunder’s three layers—Aviation, Ground Forces and Naval Forces—has been given some big new additions. For pilots, there’s a new tier of aircraft containing all the near- and supersonic jets with guided air-to-air missiles. The American F-100D Super Sabre, the British Gloster Javelin Mk 9 and the Soviet MiG-19PT are the first three modern jets to be added to the roster.

A new Italian tech tree adds 30 vehicles to ground battles, from World War 2 and the Cold War. They’re fast, powerful combat vehicles, including the Breda 501 and B1 Centauro tank destroyers. Other nations also get new vehicles, like the M3 Bradley for the Americans and Soviet Union’s T-72A battle tank.

At sea, there’s two new destroyers and four new cruisers, as well as more than two dozen British warships now that that the Royal Navy is out of beta.

Vehicles are all well and good, but they need somewhere to fight. The update adds several new maps into the mix, including a Vietnam ground map, a dogfighting map above Afghanistan and, for naval battles, the Tierra del Fuego archipelago.

Supersonic is out now, and you can read the full patch notes here.

Left 4 Dead 2

The internet is vast and full of streams. The prevalence of YouTube and Twitch ensure that more gaming silliness is being captured and shared than ever. People are still doing amazing work with Source's film making tools and The International 7 produced its share of amusing moments. Here are some of the videos and gifs that tickled us this week.

War Thunder

War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment has announced that they're co-making—alongside Targem Games—a new post-apocalyptic vehicle combat MMO. It's called Crossout, and it's about building, upgrading and customising spike-laden, armoured vehicles, and then using them to battle other players.

Crossout promises extreme customisation, with the ability to build anything from small buggies to heavy off-road trucks. "Crossout gives players thousands of possibilities to design their vehicle, including shape, armor, weapons, support systems and, of course, cosmetic enhancements," explains the press release.

There are weapons, of course. Chainsaws, power drills, machine guns, rocket launchers, flying drones and stealth generators are all mentioned.

Not mentioned: the long, bendy sticks they had in Mad Max: Fury Road. They were pretty useful.

Beta testing for Crossout is due to start in the summer. To register your interest, head over to the Crossout official site.

War Thunder

Greetings Friends. It Seems Like This Is A News Post About War Thunder's New Update.

Sorry, you caught me trying to impersonate the narrator of free-to-play war-'em-up War Thunder's 1.47 update; a man who talks like every word in a sentence starts with a capital letter. It's pretty remarkable:

The update is called "Big Guns," and so should probably feature some Big Guns. Let's see... contrails? No. Animated cockpit canopy? That's not it. New aircraft and ground vehicles—completing the US vehicle line, and this finishing the Steel Generals beta phase? Yeah, that's probably it.

As for the planes, the B-29 Superfortress makes its debut, as does a 1941 version of the USSR's famous IL-2.

Also in this update, terrain deformation means vehicles will handle differently depending on their surface. And there's a plethora of new visual effects. The update is now live, and you can see its full list of features over at the official War Thunder site.
