We’re experimenting with a fun new feature today: You can now watch Vreal videos in a web browser by visiting https://vreal.net/watch!

Here’s how it works: After you watch and/or publish a recording in the Vreal app, you’ll notice some share buttons for Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. Clicking those buttons will generate a post with a custom URL so that people can watch it in their browser on their PCs. And just like in the app, viewers can use their mouse and WASD keys to move around inside the video.

This feature is a work-in-progress; here are the current known issues:

• Some older recordings do not support web streaming. You’ll be able to tell if a recording is supported by whether or not the share icons are visible on the content page.
  
• We currently support web streaming for the following titles: GORN, Tilt Brush, Blocks, Fantastic Contraption, Eleven: Table Tennis, Catch and Release, PlanTechtor, Jet Island, Virtual Virtual Reality, Cat Sorter VR, Cloudlands, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.
  
• Social features (friends and parties) are not currently available in the Web version.
  
• While most browsers are supported, we highly recommend using Chrome for the best experience. Mobile browsers are not supported. We recommend at least a 20 megabit Internet connection for the best performance.
  
• Server availability is limited and you may be placed in a queue if our servers are full.

Today’s update includes a huge visual overhaul of the Vreal app, as well as major improvements.



Here’s the latest:

• The app is now resizable and works with a wider range of monitor resolutions and zoom levels. Finally you can soak up all of those 4k pixels with Vreal!
  
• Performance improvements: Vreal now takes up significantly less of the CPU.
  
• You can now toggle between watching in VR or desktop mode in the settings panel. Click on the gear icon at the top right to set a default for your preferred method of watching content.
  
• Publishing progress is now displayed on the content page so creators can see how long it will take (HOORAY!)
  
• There is now a countdown to record timer to inform when the recording will start.
  
• Known issue: social features such as friends and parties are taking a vacation while we give them a new coat of paint. Check back for future updates where their super-powered offspring will return.

Hi everyone! Vreal is hosting another egg hunt event, this time with dragon eggs! We've featured 3 special videos on the home page of the app where you can go in and collect eggs.

There's a total of 99 eggs (33 in each). This event is just for fun but we will be posting a leaderboard every now and then to show who has collected the most eggs. Stay tuned for updates on that!

Are you TOTALLY prepared for the news we have to share? Would it be ACCURATE to say you’re sick of all the puns we are always sharing? Well, we hope you’re ready for BATTLE because we can’t stop won’t stop. It may seem like we’re just pun robots, but we promise this isn’t a SIMULATOR.

Okay okay, enough of that. Big news today! Vreal has added our first ever non-VR game: Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS) from developers Landfall. TABS is currently in Early Access on Steam. This game is incredibly fun to play, from the campaigns to the units to the maps, it’s full of character that is unforgettable.

Before you alt-tab away, there’s a couple things you should know. TABS content is only available to watch in desktop mode, as it’s not a VR game.

Updates:

• Support for our first non-VR title, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, is now live!
  
• You can now switch between VR and Desktop mode without ever closing the Vreal app.
  
• We now highlight popular content, based on when it was posted, views and hearts the content has received. Popular content is displayed with a fire icon.

Known Issues:

• When watching in a party, all members will be forced to watch in 2D
  
• Only single-level commenting is currently supported (nested replies and deletion are coming in the future)

Howdy folks!

We have two big updates for you today! First, we’ve added support for Valve’s Moondust demo, which is set in the Portal universe consisting of four minigames. Moondust introduces new VR game mechanics that take advantage of the new Index (aka Knuckles) controller inputs, like crushing moon rocks with your hands, or driving a moon buggy with the joystick.

We've also added a new feature: the ability to leave comments on content. Now you can let your favorite Vreal creators know how much you like their content and what you want to see more of in the future.

We could never FORE-get Cloudlands VR! Fun fact: Cloudlands VR was one of the first VR titles Vreal ever supported, even before we were on Steam in Early Access. We're stoked to bring it back!

Without further adieu, here are the latest updates and bug fixes:

• Introducing individual content pages! Selecting recordings will open up a new content page, where you'll see the number of likes and dislikes.
  
• Spectators in Jet Island recordings now have the option to be tethered to the player. To untether, spectators can either move (when watching in desktop mode) or teleport onto a surface (when watching in VR mode). Using "Teleport to Player" in either mode will re-tether the spectator to the player.
  
• Attempting to record in Desktop mode will launch Steam VR so that you can actually record content in VR.
  
• Sorting available recordings by Newest, Oldest, and Popular wasn’t functional for a short while; we've fixed this!
