Voodoo Vince: Remastered - BeepGames
We've posted another update for Voodoo Vince: Remastered today. There are a few important things in this one:

- Completionists rejoice! A new trolley stop has been added to Inside The Kosmobot, which eliminates the "point of no return." You can now revisit any earlier level to mop up collectibles, even after the game is over to get those last few achievements if you missed them. This works with existing saved games, so you don't have to replay the whole game to enjoy it.

- Water is now processed on a separate thread. This should improve performance in the Bayou levels and the Square in the Quarter, especially for folks on somewhat older rigs.

- The game startup code has been updated to help with the infamous "D3D11CreateDeviceAndSwapChain - Failed" notice a few players have reported.

We rolled out the latest patch for Voodoo Vince: Remastered. Here's what's new:

- Fixed issues related to installing/playing from external (non-C:) drives. This should help some players who have reported issues with the game not starting.

- Fixed level inventory pages on the pause menu. Some weren't showing up correctly.

- Updated to more recent Steam .dll

- Updated sound streaming to minimize stuttering issues.

Hello! We've posted an update to Voodoo Vince: Remastered. This has some changes we hope will help us track down the issues some players have reported with the following:

- Stuttering and strange sync issues with cinematic sequences. Here's the deal: We've substituted regular stereo mixes for our usual 5.1 surround during the opening scene and the long scene where Vince first meets Kosmo's big green head. If you've had this issue, please start a New Game by moving over to Vince in the Voodoo Shop. Play the intro and the first level and let us know if you still experiencing problems. The rest of the scenes still have 5.1 mixes, so if you feel like playing further we can see how those compare. This will tell us if the way we're converting cinematic audio down to stereo is the culprit.

- Game boot-up problems. These are two-fold. First, we've updated our steam_api.dll for those experiencing the endless cloud save sync where the game doesn't actually start. We believe this will help with that. Second, for the lucky players who might be experiencing DirectX 11 compatibility issues, the game now generates an error message vs. just crashing or showing a black screen. If you get this, please post a comment here with the code you see, or email support@beepgames.com

These don't fix the issues, but what we learn will help make that possible.
