Hey folks,

It’s been a long, hard and awaited update, but we’re glad to announce that we just released our anti-cheat patch!

As mentioned before, this patch include the following:
- No more region lock applied to the multiplayer matchmaking
- VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat System) activation, including in-game kick plus ban from official servers for players identified as cheaters
- Several measures and tweaks to combat cheating

If you want to know more about the VAC, here are the headlines: the Valve Anti-Cheat system is enabled for servers displaying the Secured shield logo. If a user connects to a VAC-Secured server from a computer with identifiable cheats installed, the VAC system will ban the user from playing on VAC-Secured servers in the future. Also please note that “all VAC bans are permanent - Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and will not lift VAC bans under any circumstances,” decision that we fully support.

At the same time we want to thanks all the players who sent their replay to the team, to fight against the cheaters. This is actually a big win for the team to have such as dedicated and fair-play community of players (especially for a game based on the deception, and basically cheating J)

Thumbs up everyone for your support, your patience, and we hope you will enjoy the multiplayer again!

Hi everyone,

Here are some more details about the fixes
brought by the upcoming patch:

- No more region lock applied to the multiplayer matchmaking
- VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat System) activation including in-game kick plus ban from official servers for players identified as cheaters
- Several measures and tweaks to combat cheating

We know cheating can ruin the multiplayer experience, so we truly hope that these actions will bring back a healthy and fun spirit to the R.U.S.E. community.

By the way Steam users,

Changing your region is recommended to ease the matchmaking in multiplayer.

In the Steam/Settings, go to the "Download + Cloud" tab, and change it to Germany-Berlin.

Sorry about that, we're working on fixing the issue, but that would ease the process until the corrective update is available.

thanks

The R.U.S.E. demo is now available on PC, which you can download on Steam at http://www.steamgames.com/RUSEdemo.

The demo features a full mission in which you play a role in the Allied offensive in Italy, aimed at cutting off a German offensive from withdrawing by attacking them from behind. However, high command suddenly realizes that the Germans, aided by the remaining loyal Italian units, are much stronger than they had previously been led to believe. You will lead the US army fighting against Germany and Italy, and must combine deceptive strategies and eventually resort to nuclear strikes to achieve victory!

Thanks

Hey everyone,

Here's an important news for you.

Please note that when R.U.S.E. is released in September, it will benefit from Valve’s Steamworks API to offer the best community experience to players. Consequently, a Steam account and Internet connection will be required to activate the game, as per Steam policy. For this reason, R.U.S.E. will not use the Ubisoft protection. Single player can be played offline.

Hi everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the free week end of RUSE. It was another great opportunity for us to share thoughts and even to defeat some of you Smile I like to think that this game was built with the community.

Even though this was not a beta test, your help was invaluable to help us track some remaining issues. We will take your last suggestions into consideration of course.

There was a minor glitch with the game being shut down for some time during the week end. We will see how we can make it up for you in the future.

It is now time for us to get back to work for the final release. Come visit us at Gamescom in Cologne, there are many more surprises to come!

Best,

Mathieu Girard

Hi everyone,

It seems the autokick fixes performed yesterday were not sufficient, although improving the situation.

Thanks to tests performed today between Eugen and a member of the community, [BP]LoverBoy, we managed to track down a serious bug in the autokick system.

A patch will be available very soon, fixing as well some very rare crashes found during the week end.

Hi everyone,

You'll be happy to know that a patch will be deployed at 6:30 PM (Paris time).

The patch addresses the following issues:

* Autokick system. We have authorized higher latencies for the system, reducing the problems which were affecting the 3V3 and 4V4 games (1V1 or 2V2 did not seem problematic, but the patch will fix them anyway). We have used network simulation tools to fake bad connections (this is a network RUSE), and the game persisted. Of course, we will listen to your feedback

* Graphical corruption for 6XXX/7XXX Nvidia cards. We hope to have solved the issue. Waiting for your feedback.

Cheers
