Hey everybody, I just wanted to give a heads up that Toing's Pops 2 will become free on Friday, June 27th. Considering the game is 99 cents already, I think it's just best to have it be free!

Thanks to those of you who checked out the demo during Next-Fest and wish listed during it. The demo was OK, but I am working on a new demo that I hope is better and which will have more gameplay depth and a story, a larger map to explore and more. I can't wait for that demo to be ready!

Gameplay depth and playtesting, prototyping new mechanics. It takes time, but I have a detailed plan for this next phase in the project and I can't wait to get it feeling good, and then releasing the demo. Unfortunately, it won't have a Next Fest to drive up visibility.

However, my morale is high and I'll be working on this new game demo hard these coming weeks.

Some things I know will be in the demo:

  • Flyable Dirigible which will be upgradeable, can take damage, be repaired

  • A new large swath of Off-World environment to explore in the Dirigible and on foot

  • New large mines to explore, exploit, and survive their hazards

  • Settlements with NPCs with Quests, Trade, and Interactions such as quest rewards being upgrades, items, or money depending on the quest.

  • Deeper Player Attributes such as Strength, Endurance, and Agility. Choices like between these can influence play and may necessitate alternative ways of attaining objectives.

  • Day/Night cycle along with resting mechanic for restoring stamina.

  • A full inventory system with Personal inventory with strength affecting weight capacity. Inventory for dirigible will be upgradeable.

  • The story will be told in new ways, like branching dialogue, small cutscenes, and new UI elements to help bring the narrative to light.

I will be updating with small updates as I work on all this and tweak it, and hopefully get it ready for demo number 2. I hope to continue engage with folks who are interested in the project. The discord is still there for anyone wanting to chat. I'll be happy to answer any questions there.

- Improved Guard Mode for tamed aggressive creatures. When On (gold rim on button) they will seek out and attack any hostiles in map. Recall them by assigning them to a Creature Bell.
- Doors will now become more walk-thruable when it's already moving, reducing being stuck between doors
- While in combat mode, all agents will now bump into each other, improving combat and realism
- Bug Fixes for the following issues: Proper race of siblings when game begins. Demolition button disappearing after upgrading a building. Disappearing dogs. Proper display of produced item in drying racks / fermentation barrels.

This Week’s Focus: Refining the Private Troops System

Last week, we launched the first version of the private troops system, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. So this week, we are not adding any new features. Instead, we’ll focus on improving and expanding what’s already there.

1. Add a chance for friendly noble families to assist you when you are attacked by another family's private troops.

2. Add an option to give up a farm in exchange for peace when you are unable to resist retaliation.

3. Add new recruitment sources for private troops, such as refugees and prisoners.

4. Add scenarios where noble families involved in private troop skirmishes may request your assistance.

5. Add the ability to directly dispatch private troops to seize farmsteads from other families.

6. Add the ability to send private troops to abduct characters from the courtesan lounge.

7. Add a chance for the royal court to be attacked by private troops from rebellious families. Players can choose to help defend; if already a royal relative, you can ask other families for support. Win the battle, and you can eliminate the entire rebel clan.

8. Add the ability to form alliances with other noble families to jointly attack the Royal City.

9. The success of inciting rebels to harass other families will now be affected by the size of the target’s private troop force.

10. Improve the mechanics behind how other families' private troop numbers increase or decrease over time.

We plan to update the game 2 to 3 times this week. If time allows, we’ll also sneak in some small improvements, like last week’s new character search feature in the family tree.

And finally, regarding performance issues that many of you have mentioned, this is a long-term process. We are constantly optimizing parts of the system each week to reduce lag and heavy processing. You might not feel the difference right away, but we are on it. Thanks for sticking with us!

La Tour des Ombres - ALIENS
Early Access is now available, and I'm really pleased with the initial feedback you've given it. It's very encouraging! As with any early access version, some bugs are to be expected, and I sincerely thank you for reporting them to me. In particular, a rather annoying bug that prevented me from facing the first boss—this problem has now been fixed.

For the occasion, a first patch note has been published with a list of fixes. A new feature has also been added regarding positioning, making the deployment phase more tactical and thoughtful.
