Hello Townies! We have a small hotfix to improve Town of Salem 1.

- If a Hypnotist "poisons" someone it will now send the correct message depending on the Coven having the Necronomicon. Night 1 and 2 it will say "will die tomorrow unless cured", after that it will just say "you will die tomorrow!".
- If a Hypnotist "roleblocks" someone the message will change accordingly if the target is roleblock immune or not. If the target is Roleblock Immune, they will get the "Someone tried to role block you but you are immune". instead.
- Fixed Lookout and Trapper seeing reanimated corpses visit twice
- Fixed lag when zooming in

We are excited to bring you the Town of Salem 1 Patch 3.3.11 - Quality of Life Update! In mid-September we, Digital Bandidos, announced some of our plans for the Town of Salem games. Our commitment from the start is that we are invested in making sure we take care of the games & the community.

When reviewing game feedback from players we saw there was an opportunity to bring many quality of life changes to Town of Salem 1. Discover chat updates, role card improvements & much more! Please review the patch notes below ⤵️


- Player names in chat and nametags on the map will now be the same color as the player's role if you know it
- Player effect tags are now displayed next to a player's name in chat. You can disable this in settings.
- There are now multiple different font sizes in settings
- Day/Night headers now show permanently in chat logs regardless of the applied filter
- Missing achievements and total wins for a role will now be displayed on the role card
- Improved the endgame screen visuals
- Expanded Chat Size (Steam/Web only). An option allowing the regular chat size to be expanded horizontally
- Town Traitor now features a clock counting down the remaining days in the TT Hunt
- Referral Codes are now obscured by a black bar until you click on them
- Added UI Themes, a new cosmetic type. There are 8 free themes for you to use!
- Added Last Will templates to the Customization menu
- Escort has been renamed to Tavern Keeper
- Consort has been renamed to Bootlegger
- Added the Best Friends system. You can toggle any of your friends as a best friend, pinning them to the top of your friends list and giving them a golden name in lobbies.
- Added a Block System. Blocked users will not be able to friend you and will have red names in lobbies
- Friends will now have a light blue names in lobbies
- Non-Town Traitor Veterans will lose all alerts when TT hunt starts


- Fixed Disco Inferno triggering on dead players who were doused
- Fixed Retributionist not being Control Immune when controlled by a Coven Leader or Witch
- Fixed Transporter not being notified when they're controlled by a Coven Leader or Witch
- Fixed Psychic getting the controlled message twice
- Fixed Coven Leader, Tavern Keeper (formerly Escort), Bootlegger (formerly Consort) and Transporter being roleblocked by Pirate (Yes, this really was a bug)
- Fixed Mayor extending the TT hunt by a day in Town Traitor
- Fixed Rapid Mode games not starting
- Fixed Tracker and Psychic still getting information when witched/controlled by Coven Leader
- Coven Leader now steals a Psychic's vision properly when controlling a Psychic

We have been diligently working on our plans for the games in terms of content, new features, balance changes, bug fixes & more. At this time we aren’t quite ready to release an official roadmap, BUT we have a list of some of items you can expect to see on it. Please stay tuned for the roadmap release soon.

QoL improvements for ToS1 & ToS2
- Block system, backend updates to the reporting system

QoL improvements for ToS1
- UI updates & other ToS1 mod implementations (chat effect tags, best friend system, font size picker, UI recoloring, expanding chat size, colored nametags on map, will templates, chat names colors matching role color, refreshed endgame screen, town traitor clock, etc.)

QoL improvements for ToS2
- Discord integration, game modes revamped, reputation system, achievements & stats


Suspending ToS2 Battle Pass System
- We are bringing down the Battle Pass until we can get the right content plan, pricing, and strategy to support the effort while bringing the most value to players. We are actively listening to the community, mods and dev team, regarding these changes.
- Please note that the UI/UX may be wonky, because we decided to just rip it out, due to this.
- The current Battle Pass rewards are not exclusive to that Battle Pass (Please don’t panic buy!!).

ToS2 Season 4 delayed for Review
- Looking at balance changes, opportunities for a new role & more. We will share as soon as we have an update here.

Traitors in Salem
- TiS is still being reviewed by our teams. We will share as soon as we have an update here.

ToS2 Mobile
- ToS2 Mobile issues including store issues are still being reviewed by our teams. We will share as soon as we have an update here. We are looking to get ToS2 mobile available again ASAP.

ToS1 Facebook Issues
- ToS1 Facebook Login Issues issues are still being reviewed by our teams. We will share as soon as we have an update here.

ToS2 Server Issues
- The latest server maintenance was partially related to working on these outages & giving us tools & more information to resolve them. We are hoping to use these tools & information to reduce outages to only planned outages.

Town of Salem 2 just got a big patch! We are adding a ton of new cosmetics, a new cosmetic type (Maps!), a ton of bug fixes and other improvements, a system to teach new players, and a ranked pre-season for Season 1!

Ranked Season 1 Preparations
• Ranked Season 1 pre-season starts today!
• During preseason, ELO gains and losses are disabled.
• Ranked requires 10 Ranked Practice games played to queue.

New Death Animation!

• The Harvest map is our first new map! Check out this fall themed map, curl up with your pumpkin spice drink of choice, and explore this new side of Salem.

Bug Fixes
• Fixed bug that would let Witch see targets feedback when target is control immune.
• Fixed a grammar error in the Silence keyword.
• Fixed a runtime exception in the Personalize screen.
• Fixed a bug where Executioner target will be cleared upon Executioner's death so that Spy bug will not trigger.
• Fixed bug where Executioner could not change or set their Torment target during certain game phases.
• Don't Fear the Reaper achievement that was previously unobtainable is now granted when hexing a Soul Collector. This achievement will not be displayed until the match ends.
• Fixed bug where traps would not trigger by non-harmful visits after the trapper was dead.
• Fixed an issue that caused characters to clip out of the Iron Maiden during the death animation.
• Fixed a bug that caused Arsonists to not get feedback that they were doused in gas when visiting another Arsonist.
• The Ranked button is no longer present while in a party.

Now that we are about 24 hours since the launch of Town of Salem 2 I wanted to thank everyone for their amazing support on our launch and give some behind the scenes details on how it went.


Yesterday was the most successful day in the history of BlankMediaGames. Sales on launch day eclipsed the Coven DLC and ToS1 mobile launches.



In the first few hours Town of Salem 2's concurrent user count on Steam matched the historical all time high of Town of Salem 1. I believe this was one of the most successful launches of any game in the social deduction genre.


The launch wasn't without some bugs and performance issues and we are actively working to get all of the issues fixed as soon as possible but I wanted to thank all of you and especially thank the entire team at BlankMediaGames for all of their hard work to make this game. I hope Town of Salem 2 brings many years of happy memories to all of our players.
