Hi everyone,

Welcome to a new article unveiling more about The Surge's newest expansion - The Good, the Bad, and the Augmented, coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC October 2.

In the bowels of the CREO facility, you'll explore an old and abandoned Quality Assurance lab created to push CREO’s tech to the limit. Warren will face Dr. Rischboter’s deadly test chambers that, for some reason, feel like torn straight out of a twisted Wild West TV show!

The mad doctor’s training rooms are accessible through several access points spread over the environments of the base game. The testing chambers are numbered from 1 to 9, each room being more difficulty to finish than the previous one, but also more rewarding.

Each stage can be customized with a series of modifiers which also alter the rewards for beating the room. As shown in the screenshot below, you can combine up to 4 of 16 insane modifiers available. You can pick a maximum of one modifier for each row.

Here is the list of modifiers and their effects:
  • Dynamo - Constant energy fluctuations
  • Lactose Tolerant - After losing health, recollect it as cheesy treats. No injections available.
  • Free Healthcare - Med packs scattered throughout the levels. No injections available.
  • Leech - Player and enemies steal each other's life. No injectable use.
  • Vintage - Sped-up black & white fun, just like the good old days. No sound effects.
  • Chrono-Master - Performing moves makes time move faster than normal and increase the damage you deal. If you do nothing or get hit, it'll slow down again.
  • Combo Maker - Perfect combos increase damage, failed combos decrease it.
  • Rush Hour - A timer is set on Warren's life. Successful kills buy him more time.
  • Short Fuse - If you don't cut limbs, enemies will go out with a bang!
  • Danger Close - Dying enemies drop power cores.
  • Fire and Brimstone - Fire traps scattered all around the facility.
  • Epicenter - Every once in a while, a flame pit opens up right below Warren.
  • Polterguys - Invisible enemies, visible weapons, losta pain!
  • Arms Race - Auto-equip the weapon of the last killed enemy.
  • Cut-And-Go - Enter the episode without any armor, cut limbs to instantly equip the enemy's armor.
  • Black Belt - Dispense pain with your bare firsts - and look like a real drunken master! Hitting armored body parts will wound you.
At the end of each stage, fight against distinct Challengers, powerful opponents forged from the training scenarios who are equipped with 30 unique new equipment pieces – armors, weapons, and implants - that you can take for yourself!

The harder and crazier the modifiers, the better the rewards! Each gear from The Good, The Bad and The Augmented has an upgraded V2 version, some have even better hidden upgrades!

The testing chambers are slowly unlocked through the main story in a first run, and all available from the start in NG+. We can't wait to see you test the tons of crazy combinations available, such as the black & white "vintage" modifier 😉

After the success of last year’s sci-fi Action RPG The Surge, we're happy to showcase a new gameplay footage of The Surge 2, releasing 2019.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-PIQf635c0
The trailer showcases the new Park sector, located in the middle of a city ravaged by the events of The Surge. Devious mercenaries called The Hunters roam the artificial, man-made forest, searching for a powerful creature. Beware their traps, their cunning cloaking devices, and most of all, the out-of-control former park guardians.

The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original – hardcore combat utilizing a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and deep character progression – while also improving the formula.

The Surge 2 takes place in a brand new environment: a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design, made possible by our upgraded and improved FLEDGE engine. Combat is more brutal and tactical than ever, with more advanced dodging, directional parrying, and unique AI behaviors. In addition, more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones give players a vast arsenal to build their character with, in their fight against the array of diverse new enemies and bosses.

The Surge 2 will release in 2019.

Battle your way to CREO’s most advanced prototypes and equip them now!

Dystopian Action RPG The Surge is preparing to unleash its latest free DLC: the Cutting Edge Pack!

The armor sets provide a variety of useful boons when worn in their entirety, as well as giving Warren various, fetching new looks to go about his gruesome business.

The ANGEL was originally designed for operation in the harsh vacuum of space, some of the most inhospitable conditions known to man, and bestows faster attack speeds, better energy gain, harder impacts on CODENAME weapons.

Asclepius was meant to assist army veterans in gaining a new lease on life, but its regenerative powers will work well enough for you too. Finally the Nano Ward gear uses bleeding edge technology to give your blocks some serious explosive power – if you can time them right.

On the more offensive side, CREO’s new weapons are the latest technology, prototypes for blue-sky projects that may never see the light of day – and certainly haven’t been safety-tested!

Experiment 44H, known as the Dark Star, never saw full production due to the madness of its creator leading to him sabotaging the whole project before more than one could be made. Its unique containment field will wreak havoc on enemies.

Engelhart is a boost tool that uses state-of-the-art technology to become searing hot anytime, anywhere. As potentially dangerous to the wielder as their enemies, it requires skill and practice to use effectively.

Finally BioN J-1, codenamed Last Aid, is quite literally a surgical tool, originally designed for use in medical hospitals. After an unfortunate incident with a rogue doctor, it became known as a tool of carnage – show your enemies what that means.

Once the DLC is installed you will find six fierce new enemies in Abandoned Production, Management, and Core that must be defeated to acquire the new items – they won’t go down easily.

This is only the beginning for The Surge franchise! We look forward to showing fans and press more about the highly anticipated sequel The Surge 2, coming 2019, at E3 this year.
