In addition to some bug fixes, patch 1.0.7 finally gives you all the tools to create your own maps and even mod the game!

Your saved games with the versions 1.0.1 to 1.0.5 are still working!

- we fixed more edge cases for multiplayer games with IPV6
- we added the official map editor with which you can create your own maps + a PDF with the documentation for the editor
- we enabled modding in general :-)
- we added the official mod launcher with which you can install mods from the Steam Workshop + a PDF with the documentation for the mod launcher
- we added an example mod called "EggMod" - have fun with it :-)
- we also added a PDF with the documentation about scripting in The Guild 3
- we made some graphical improvements
- we added hungarian texts
- some minor bug fixes

You can find the ModLauncher, all the scripts and the PDFs in the subfolder 'Modding' in the installation path of 'The Guild 3'. The EggMod is available in the Steam Workshop.

Please note: for a connection to the Steam Workshop you must have the game in your Steam library! If you want to play the game with a mod, please read the ModLauncher documentation located in the folder "Modding".

Patch 1.0.5 solves a number of network issues, the loading times are improved and it fixes a number of graphical glitches.

We would like to give a special thanks to NeoX, Tobsga, Wormic, Kate'sJoy, Ishtano, Neopolis and Kruemel for helping us test the network bug fixes for this patch!

- we fixed a number of network issues, especially those that prevent you from joining a game
- the loading times for the maps are a lot faster now
- we fixed a number of bugs with the inventory of characters and buildings - before that it was possible that one looses or duplicated an item when transferring it from one inventory to another inventory
- we fixed a number of script errors
- we solved a number of graphical glitches
- we implemented new ground textures (e.g. puddles :-) )
- every map has been repainted with the new textures

Please let us know if you still have issues with mixed ipv4 / ipv6 games and we will look into that as soon as possible!

Hello everyone,

In the last few weeks we have been working on issues in multiplayer and in the scripts, among other things. We also improved the graphics in the game. For example, in the upcoming patch you will find some new ground textures, including water puddles :-)
We are currently in the final preparations for Patch 1.0.5, which we aim to release before Christmas, barring anything unforeseen.

We're planning the next patch to be released in Q1 2023. This patch will then also contain the editor! Among other things, we will fix a few bugs in the editor and improve the usability of the tool for you.

Patch 1.0.4 solves a number of issues and it balances the game further. We additionally worked on a lot of bugs and features in preparation for the editor release, which we do not list below, as the editor will be released somewhen later.

As mentioned in DevDiay #32 beginning of August, this is the last patch in collaboration with the Purple Lamp team. The development will continue with a small team that will work on the editor! The release date is not set so far, please be a bit patient.
Regarding the ipv6 support we sadly have to say that the developer of the multiplayer library is still working on that issue. We will bring out a patch after we receive the new library and were able to test it properly.

We want to point out that without the dedicated help from you, the players, some of the changes below would not have been possible - thanks a lot for your reports in our Redmine bug tracker!

And now have lots of fun with version 1.0.4 !

Please note: Your saved games from the former versions 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 will still work with this patch, but not all changes will be in effect in the older versions. The reason is that the map you are playing on stores data that is loaded and processed only when you start a fresh game in the new version.

To give you a better overview we have splitted the list of changes into two:

Build number: 664688

Changes that will be in effect with saved games from version 1.0.1 to 1.0.3:
- We fixed a crash that could happen at game start, when the initiation for a map failed.
- Transporters on manually set up routes restarted their tour at waypoint 1 after they had been interrupted.
- Especially on large maps or in the late game it could happen that characters got stuck when they left the city hall.
- We have reworked a number of building models so that characters will not get stuck anymore when leaving the building.
- We fixed issues with several character models, animations and textures.
- We fixed a bug that caused torches to be displayed when characters were blended out due to their distance to the camera.
- We reduced the flickering of the light sources in the arsenal.
- We fixed the descriptions for the secondary attributes Regeneration and Defense.

Changes that will only be in effect with games started with version 1.0.4:
- The chances of bringing back Porcelaine from far trades or smuggling has been raised a bit.
- Kids were able to claim higher titles at the receptionist in the city hall.
- When performing the "throw stones" action, the throwing character kept the stone in their hand all the time.
- The instruction text for the action "Public relations" was misleading.
- The target of a bribe now receives 90% of the invested money instead of always 5000 - even bribing is not a 100% secure business ;-)
- We fixed a bug with the far trade actions that caused a relationship change with the neighborhood (in most cases an uninhabited surrounding region).
- It was possible that on the Hansa map (Hamburg, Lübeck & Kiel) a second Sovereign would be in office. In order to protect the people before a civil war in the Hansa, we kicked out the surplus Sovereign!
- We fixed several minor and some major issues on almost all maps.
- We reworked several actions to prevent AI dynasties from targeting allies (aggressive actions) and/or foes ("nice" actions :-) ). Human players still can!
- We fixed issues with some actions, where the budget post for the budget book was not set up correctly.
- We fixed a bug in the action to hold a public banquet on your rostrum that always led to a failure of the action.
- Eating a cream pie had no effect other than a few XP. Now you get more XP and an additional bonus of 50 health for a while.
- You weren't able to eat nor gift Gingerbread. Now you can :-)
- We made handhelds like torches invisible while characters perform several actions, like playing music or talking to other characters.
- The citizen title now shows that you can take part in wars and events. As a lord it is shown that you can be an officer in a war. In the benefits of the guilds you now see that participating in events of your guild will bring you better outcomes.
- The Almanac now grants more xp.
- We fixed some more, mostly minor issues that we do not list here.

Another short update on what we are doing at the moment.

Naturally, we are still hunting for bugs and balancing issues. For example, one of the most annoying bugs you face during your play is that transporters on manually set up routes restart their tour with waypoint 1 after they have been interrupted. We were able to solve the issue with a lot of time and sweat… and not all of it was due to the heat ;-) This damn bug was buried very deep in the code and not easy to fix.

We are still working on the ipv6 issue in multiplayer. We are currently reworking our Peer to Peer library to support edge cases. We hope, but unfortunately cannot guarantee, that the problem will be fixed with the upcoming patch.

We are preparing patch 1.0.4 for end of August / beginning of September. It will be the last one in collaboration with the Purple Lamp team. Purple Lamp has done an amazing job of bringing the game thus far!

The development of The Guild 3 however will not be over then, as THQ Nordic is still not willing to call the game done yet! A small team will work on something many of you are waiting for: the Editor. We can not and will not promise anything at this moment other than that you will be able to create your own maps at some point.

It is still some weeks ahead, but I want to say thank you to Purple Lamp for their hard work and all the effort they have taken with The Guild 3. You made it, guys :-)

Good morning everyone,

We are very sorry for the inconvenience you had with multiplayer since patch 1.0.3 . While the patch has helped some with their issues in participating in a multiplayer game, unfortunately for others it has made the situation worse.

Since the first reports of issues with multiplayer since the patch was released, we worked until late in the evening to find a solution without success. So we decided to revert some of our changes regarding multiplayer to the status from before - this happens with this little update (build number: 660451)!

Be assured that we will keep working on the issue for the coming time.

Patch 1.0.3 contains a lot of bug fixes for crashes. Unfortunately, we were not yet able to solve all server-issues for multiplayer but we did not want to keep the patch longer from you. Still, we also managed to get some connection improvements. We ask you to be a bit more patient and thank you for your understanding.
Beside the changes for this patch, the team is working on other things in the background. We will give you more information about that at a later date - we’d like to keep the excitement going for a little while longer.

- A number of connectivity issues for multiplayer have been taken care of
- We made improvements to our networking capabilities regarding the handling of IPv6
- We fixed the notification spam which occured when family members who were banished or have been sent to a monastery had reached the end of their natural lifespan
- Added notifications to be sent out whenever a law of the city has been changed
- Tutorial chapters that have not been read yet will be bolded in the chapter list
- Characters didn't unequip the item in their hand when they were performing different animations, leading to sometimes funny situations - we changed this on many places
- As a client in multiplayer it could happen that the characters would keep sitting in the air after the riding horse, horse cart or cart was deleted from the inventory
- For the client in multiplayer the progress bar for a number of actions was not updating
- We fixed a number of issues with marrying via dynastic trade
- We fixed a bug in the UI where office holders can adjust the number of city guards per village/district - now the correct numbers are displayed
- Neutral buildings now bear the crest of a village or a city
- We fixed a number of issues with models, textures and animations
- The alphabetical order of the chapters in the ingame help now take umlauts (and similar characters) into account
- The notifications for vacant offices, office elections and when election results now have the name of the city included
- We were able to decrease the loading times more :-)
- We fixed several minor issues

Changes that will only be in effect with games started with version 1.0.3:
- The ambush action was too lucrative especially in the early gameplay
- Some of the actions of children have been balanced and the actions "Play outside" and "Stack boxes" got new animations
- Henchmen can from now on enter residences of allied dynasties
- Pathfinding issues and cosmetic flaws have been fixed in all maps

Hello everyone,

This is a short update on what we are working on at the moment.

We received reports of players stating that the game usually immediately crashed when starting (some could play for a short amount of time) and we on our side were never able to reproduce this. Thanks to your reports and support we were able to find out that it concerned players who had G Data installed - at this point our special thanks goes to the guys from G Data for the very good cooperation - the problem should already be solved.

Our solutions for some other issues in multiplayer (tag: IPV6) are still underway. We should have them ready for the coming patch. And of course, we are closely looking into other reported crashes as well. In the next patch also the nasty notification spam bug will be fixed. It happens currently when the player sends a family member to the monastery or one of the family members gets banished and then years later those characters die. This leads to a notification spam that can only be worked around by deactivating all messages.

We fixed some major issues (e.g. pathfinding) and minor issues (mostly cosmetic) on all maps and worked on balancing the economy more. The patch will be rounded up with some bug fixes and tweaks for actions as well as corrections of some models and animations.

If nothing goes wrong during our final tests you can expect patch 1.0.3 next week.

Hello everyone!

First of all, why version 1.0.1 and not 1.0 you may ask. The answer is easy: We prepared a preview version for the press with all features in it, but still did some polishing which came afterwards. Version 1.0.1 has that included, of course!

With The Guild 3 leaving Early Access, we will from now on concentrate on fixing bugs and - where needed - balancing. Many of you are asking for news about the editor. We haven't talked much about the tool in the last years, which is because we were solely focussed on the game itself. We will provide an update on the editor topic during summer.

We want to thank all the players of the Early Access phase - without your help and your patience all of this would not have been possible! Thank you and may Lady Fortune be with you while your dynasty progresses!
