While it still bears some reputation as a scrappy little browser-game toolset (and that’s no bad thing – it enabled much of the GMTK 2018 jam recently), ubiquitous game development platform Unity has spread to all corners. While I> don’t have a single creative bone in my body, the Humble Unity Bundle contains a pile of Unity tools and assets to build your dream game. Even if you’re not the creative type, there’s some good Unity-based games in here too, including ninja sneak ’em up Shadow Tactics, teen horror adventure Oxenfree and moody tearjerker The Last Day Of June.

Have You Played? >is an endless stream of game retrospectives. One a day, every day, perhaps for all time.>

The Final Station is a sidescrolling action game set in a world that’s been overrun by inky zombie-like creatures. Luckily, you’re just the kind of hero the world needs: a train driver. (more…)

Players chug through the wasted landscape, pistol in tow, collecting supplies and survivors, while making sure the undead don’t find a way to snack on your face in the process.

They could have called The Final Station [official site] ‘zombies on a train’ but they didn’t, and I think we should all respect them for that. In any case, the zombies don’t really go onto the train itself, and in any case they might be some sort of shadow-ghoul. Don’t ask me, I just kill ‘em. Or get killed by them. Rather a lot, as it happens.
