The Elder Scrolls Online's Gates of Oblivion adventure concludes 1st November with the release of the Deadlands DLC, Bethesda has announced.

The final DLC in the year-long campaign hits the PC, Mac and Stadia version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Deadlands on 1st November, then PlayStation and Xbox on 16th November.

Bethesda has delayed Elder Scrolls Online's next-gen update by a week.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Console Enhanced was due out 8th June, but will now launch 15th June, Bethesda said in a blog post.

"In an abundance of caution, we are moving the ESO: Console Enhanced launch out a week," the company said.

The Elder Scrolls Online will soon let players acquire loot box items without paying real-world money.

Arriving as part of Update 30 and launching mid-June, the new Endeavors system is a free addition to the Elder Scrolls Online base game all players can access.

Endeavors are new daily and weekly tasks that grant you various rewards, such as gold or experience, as well as a new currency called Seals of Endeavor.

The Elder Scrolls Online's upcoming chapter includes a city not seen in a game in the famous fantasy series since 1994's Arena.

Blackwood, the Oblivion-themed chapter due out for The Elder Scrolls Online in June, includes Gideon as a hub city.

Gideon is an Imperial-based city built on Ayleid ruins but run by the argonians. It's situated on the eastern portion of the new zone, and borders the Black Marsh area.

Bethesda has unveiled The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood, 2021's story chapter for the MMO set 800 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

Players are tasked with uncovering the schemes of the Daedric Prince Mehrunes, the big bad boss of Oblivion. The fancy CGI teaser trailer is below:

Bethesda says Blackwood contains more than 30 hours of new main storyline, loads of side quests, quality of life features and, for the first time ever in ESO, companions who will adventure through Tamriel alongside the player in a similar style to those in Bethesda's single-player The Elder Scrolls games.

The developer of The Elder Scrolls Online has delayed the global reveal event for Gates of Oblivion to avoid clashing with the United States Inauguration Day.

Inauguration Day is set for Wednesday 20th January, when Joe Biden will be sworn in as US president.

The reveal of Gates of Oblivion was planned for Thursday, 21st January, but will now take place on Tuesday, 26th January at 10pm UK time instead.

The Elder Scrolls Online's next big adventure is all about Oblivion.

The Gates of Oblivion was revealed during The Game Awards last night with a teaser video, below.

The video reveals Mehrunes Dagon, the main antagonist of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Bethesda called Gates of Oblivion The Elder Scrolls Online's "next big year-long adventure". There's a reveal event set for 21st January 2021 to get a first look at this new storyline.

The next Chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online has been fully unveiled - and it sounds pretty high-stakes, as players will explore Western Skyrim as it suffers under the rule of a vampire lord.

Initially teased during the Game Awards in December, yesterday ZeniMax released a cinematic trailer for the game's 2020 Chapter, Greymoor, which is part of a year-long "interconnected adventure" of four updates. Greymoor is set to launch on PC and Mac on 18th May, then Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 2nd June, and will open up vast swathes of Western Skyrim and a cavern called Blackreach. That sounds welcoming.

So, what the hell's going on here? Greymoor is set 900 years before The Elder Scrolls 5, and the western regions look a little different. Thanks to the aforementioned vampire lord, the land has been transformed into a dark and sinister place filled with vampires, witches and werewolves. In other words, the young adult section of a bookstore.
