We are very pleased to tell you that The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is now available in a Korean language version on Steam.

We encourage you to invite your Korean speaking friends on great new adventures in Aventuria.
To seek out treasures and loot, battle monsters and creatures and complete quests and puzzles in the multiplayer co-op experience that The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes offers.

The Korean language version comes complete with the content of previously released patches.
If you are looking for a guide to get started, have a look at the ‘Compendium of Heroes’ that community member Mintar put together – please note that the guide is only in English though.

The Dark Eye : Book of Heroes - Jaakko (Random Potion)
Version 1.0.6 of Book of Heroes is live. The main focus this time was on adding Russian as a language option and fixing issues with the existing languages.

Added
  • Support for Russian language

Localization fixes
  • Dice rolls in tooltips etc. are now localized
  • Suggested character names are now localized
  • Henchman names are now localized
  • Inrah Shrine hint is now properly localized
  • The Long Action Bar now uses localized spell and interaction names
  • Fixed unlocalized "Opportunity Attack" messages in Combat Log
  • Fixed some spells displaying two log messages, with one incorrectly localized
  • Fixed various texts not updating when the game language was changed
  • Fixed various other untranslated texts ("Ancient Blessing", "Paused" etc.)

Other fixes
  • Journal now scrolls instead of shrinking the text to unreadable sizes with long storyline texts
  • Fixed characters getting stuck when interrupting a long action with another long action
  • Fixed Klarum Purum triggering on failed check
  • Fixed Catch Blade
  • Fixed Card Details tooltips triggering even when the details were hidden

Book of Heroes version 1.0.5 is live with another batch of fixes and improvements. Thanks to everyone for the reports, suggestions and other feedback!

Added
  • Damage bonuses for melee weapons based on the weapon’s Primary Attribute and Damage Threshold, as per DSA 5e rules (+1 DP per Attribute Point above the Damage Threshold)

Fixed
  • Fixed a broken storyline stage causing characters to fail to load
  • Fixed Armillary adventure exit door not always opening when it should
  • Shrine puzzles will no longer prevent completing the adventure

Hello all!

Version 1.0.4 is now out on Steam. The changelog this time is notably short:
  • Fixed characters failing to load if they had spells at spell rating 26 or higher.

Rest assured, this is not everything we've been working on since 1.0.3, but due to the severity of the issue we wanted to get a fix out as soon as possible. More fixes and improvements are in various stages of the implementation and QA process for version 1.0.5.

Hello!

Book of Heroes version 1.0.3 is now live with another batch of fixes and improvements. More are in the pipeline. Big thanks again to everyone for the bug reports and other feedback!

Fixes
  • Fixed all characters loading without hair after double-tapping Esc to skip the intro.
  • Fixed permanent hair loss if the hair fails to load for any reason in the future. Unfortunately, there's no way to automatically fix existing characters that were already saved with missing hair.
  • Fixed “Find the bandit with the amulet” personal quest only working for the Host.
  • Fixed Dialogue window getting stuck open between adventures.
  • Fixed Rest window getting stuck open between adventures.
  • Fixed Grey Mage henchman missing Spellcaster advantage.
  • Fixed henchmen attacking tameable creatures.
  • Fixed friendly creatures (such as Tree Dragons) preventing Rest.
  • Fixed double log message from Balsam Salabundle, with one of the messages broken.
  • Fixed roads abruptly ending at the Boronyard in Forest.
  • Fixed henchmen getting stuck in the pit in the “bridge over pit” room in Forest.
  • Fixed an unreachable “Loose Tile” in Dungeon maps.
  • Fixed some typos and mistakes in texts.

Improvements
  • You can now spend silver to redraw basic (non-upgraded) Progression Cards at the Fortune Teller in the Tavern. E.g. redrawing a “Squire” card will replace it with another “Squire” card.
  • Henchmen now respond to “Help” and “Heal” requests from the Chat Wheel by attempting to stabilize or heal the player.
  • Henchmen respond in chat to Chat Wheel and Map Pins that they understand.
  • Tweaked henchman behaviour when reacting to Map Pins to make them more responsive.
  • Improved “Forge of Agrimoth” end puzzle (more clear indication when it’s completed, some other tweaks).
  • Reduced enemy Disengage frequency.
  • Show log message when damage is blocked by Gardianum or Liturgical Shield.
  • Removed “Luck” advantage from Gambler origin (no gameplay effect).

The Dark Eye : Book of Heroes - tb
For the past few days, we at Random Potion have been assessing, reproducing and fixing the most acute issues discovered since launch, and are now ready to launch version 1.0.2.

Our priority right now is in fixing bugs, and that work is still ongoing. We do also follow the discussions and reviews here on Steam, and are in active talks with the publisher to determine the best steps forward.

Thanks to everyone for the bug reports, constructive criticism and other feedback!


Changelog:
  • Fixed players with certain system locales (at least Norwegian Bokmål) being unable to progress beyond the main menu.
  • Fixed "Steam Default" language option not working. The game would always start in english, unless the "Deutsch" option was selected in the in-game options, instead of "Steam Default (Deutsch)".
  • Downtuned "Sleepwalker" disadvantage and reduced its proc chance. It will no longer teleport you miles away from the party, behind locked doors or, in one case of a misplaced spawn point, inside walls.
  • Show "Sleepwalker" floater on the affected character after resting finishes, to reduce confusion over the character having moved on his/her own.
  • Fixed the game being un-quittable when the player has no characters.
  • Reduced memory overhead from having multiple characters in your account. More work needs to be done on memory usage, but character count should no longer affect it as much.
  • Enemy loot (such as the dungeon exit key) is now spawned at the feet of the downed enemy. This should prevent it from ending up behind locked doors or at the bottom of a lake.
  • Regeneration is now shown in the Log while resting.
  • Elves can now acquire spells via character progression
  • Lower difficulty for the early adventures
  • Cultists are not as spell happy anymore
  • Enemies leave less traps
  • Removed Luck advantage from new characters (it has no function in game)
  • Henchmen finish combat before stabilising
  • Henchmen now react to 'Trap' map marker
  • Adventure Results screen layout fixed
  • Fixed personal quest triggering multiple times
  • Added tooltips to progression cards
  • Fixed movement speed from Axxeleratus never ending
  • Fixed “Fire And Brimstone” spell particles never ending
  • Fixed several ESC and System Menu bugs
