Here's a small update for you all! Some nasty bugs have been squashed. Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

- Fixed XP bug that caused rewards (exp and items) for all completed quests to repeat on load.
- Removed stats that had no purpose from the stats menu.
- Added more stat tracking to profile stats
- Fixed infinite wall jumping in Konstanz Mine and other areas

Hello everyone. We have a decent little update for you all! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far. Here are the many fixes and changes made to version 1.01.


- You can no longer respawn at dynamic dark portals (this is to prevent players getting stuck in a death loop).
- Decreased the vertical range of ground fire, and the Ground Slam or Earth Shield ability
- Kirkwall Barricade quest fixed.
- Removed heavenly weapon spawner from Ernwick guard tower.
- Fixed blunt and 2H axe weapon sounds.
- Fixed how Noble Double Rifle is held in the hands.
- You can no longer be attacked during cinematics or loading a safezone.
- Fixed falling through the floor after cinematics end or loading a safezone.
- The final boss can no longer be instakilled with one-handed weapons (woops, minor oversight).
- Daear flow no longer remains if the end cinematic is skipped.
- Books, notes, and NPC dialogue improved.
- Fixed the attic door in the gambler's quest.
- Added scrolling functionality to the journal to ensure all objectives are readable.
- Added descriptions and rewards to all quests.
- Fixed the issue where profiles read "End of Alpha" from the "Heart Tower" quest and onwards.
- Various consumable balance changes.
- Changed the demon grunt at the top of the rib tower to a Demon Overlord (to match the dialogue of the Grimsby priest).
- Lowered the levels of the new Demon Overlord at the top of the rib tower and the one in the foot tower.
- Reduced the size of the Blaylock safezone so that it cannot be activated from outside the cathedral.
- Midridge under the bridge safezone boundaries fixed to keep the possessed off the player while they're in the safezone.

We have substantial hot fix here for you all!

-Zombie levels increased for northern side, also additional level 100 zombie armies added to certain areas.
-Musket ammo saving fixed.
-Issue fixed that caused the paddle map marker/waypoint to double up and stay after picking it up.
-Fixed issue where 'Fisherman' achievement would unlock even when you had not yet achieved it.
-Fixed Over wall quest bug, where quest starts before foot tower is finished.
-Added more high level weapons to northern side.
-Added sledge hammer to weapon spawners.
-Fixed bug that caused dynamic portal spawning to not work.
-musket bullet naming caused inventory bugs on load.
-Potion description issues fixed.

Version 1.0 is finally here! We would like to thank you all for your support and patience in this long journey. Below is a list of all the new content and features!


-Northern Half of the Island Completed: Explore new regions with a multitude of challenges and hidden secrets.
-Full Main Quest Line: Embark on an epic adventure culminating in a showdown with the final boss.
-Level Cap Removed: Experience limitless progression with our new infinite leveling system.
-Major AI Improvements: Enjoy completely dynamic pathfinding for all AI—you can run, but you can't hide!
-Ai can also "hear" the player now. Even simply walking around might be enough to alert them if they are near.
-New Side Quests & Areas: Discover additional side quests and explore new interiors and expansive areas.
-Enhanced Music & Cinematics: Immerse yourself with new music tracks and stunning cinematic sequences.
-Command and cheat console added! Use our command console do play around with the games mechanics and cheat in offline mode! (Hold CHE to activate console while offline. -Several brand new abilities in skill trees.
-All skill trees now go to level 100.
-Agility and strength skill trees each have a final skill with infinite point adding.
-Majority of attack abilities now have unlockable 2nd tier 'advanced' versions.
-Several new dark arts blessings added, including a Daear based art attack ability.
-Added arrows for scrolling through the many skills with ease.
-Main menu visuals changed, with logo and introduction.
-New side quests.
-New Steam achievements added. (old achievements fixed).
-Secrets and Easter eggs added.
-Northern side of the island is a new biome, with new assets and visuals.
-Some improvements in frame rat consistency.
-Multitudes of bug fixes.
-Hundreds of code related fixes and changes.


Known bugs we aim to squash in coming hotfixes:
-Kirkwall supplies side quest bugged.
-Some safe zones have clipping issues on floor when loading in or fast travelling.
-Rare crash bug caused during climbing over obstacles.

Since the start of the new year, the majority of our team is now working on The Black Masses (Before that, a small portion had been working on it since our last July) . We are working towards full release of 1.0. Going from beta to full release takes time with such a small team. We have not given any public updates because we wanted to wait until we had a solid release date, but since it's been quite some time we wanted to give you a small progress update. At this time we do not have an official release date, but we are hoping for the end of February. When an official date is set we will be sure to let you all know!

Over 2 weeks ago, a portion of our team has officially been shifted to resuming development for Black Masses. We are still some months away from an update, but we want to be transparent and let you know that development is officially resuming. We are excited to finally finish this game. We again apologize for the situation we ended up in. We are a small team, and funding comes from our own pockets. However the release of UEBS2 has allowed us to continue development for Black Masses, regardless of what profits are made. We hope you understand, and we are very excited to finish this.

Hello everyone. As some of you may know, development for TBM was put on hold for some time. As promised, development of The Black Masses will soon continue. We estimate development should start sometime in the early new year. We understand it's been a very long road, but TBM has been very costly for our studio, as it has not seen any profit. As some of you may know, we released Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2 into early access in May. We are pleased to say that UEBS2 has been a success, which will allow us to complete The Black Masses. As a labor of love, we will continue development of this title, and see it through to the end. Thank you all so much for your patience and support.

Hello everyone. The Black Masses has been a long ride for the team here at Brilliant Game Studios, we have a huge love for the world we created, and the community behind it. The timeline was longer than anticipated, and we’ve heard your feedback for an increase in updates for the game. We had also wished to have provide more frequent updates. We are currently working diligently on Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator 2. Below I will go over some of the reasons TBM has not seen an update for a while, and why we have shifted development to UEBS2.

The Black Masses has been a huge undertaking and an epic journey for us. Our team only consists of 4 full time members in a studio with funding from our own pockets. The Black Masses began as a dream, and will continue as a labor of love as it has gone considerably over budget; and regrettably we can no longer financially afford to continue to develop this game at the same pace. However, even though we have not seen profits, we are still going to finish the game. The main reason we shifted to UEBS2 is so that our studio can continue operating, and we can continue to bring updates to you.

For those who have been with us from the beginning, you may know that Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator is the reason we were given the freedom to create this ambitious title. And though we do not expect to ever see profits come from this title, we still want to see this to the end. Our studio looks forward to continuing this incredible journey with you, and completing this game. Thank you for your continued support and feedback.

The Black Masses - Brilliant Game Studios
Beta v0.1 is now live everyone! Explore the vast new city of Midridge, rich with content and lore. Jump back into the main quests with many hours of new content.


Tuesday Hotfix:
-Finale beta cinematic issue fixed where sometimes the cinematic would not play at end doorway.
-Debug text removed during steam friend invite.
-Other small fixes.

NOTE: We have already patched the issue where a high level player profile appeared for some people. For those of you who updated earlier and still have the high level profile, we suggest deleting this profile as playing on this 'test profile' will cause issues. We apologize.

New Features/Content:
-Massive city of Midridge added.
-Steam friend invites added to multiplayer.
-New main quest line continues with hours of content.
-Loads of secrets and side quests located throughout the city.
-New explorable areas added outside of the city including a large cave.
-New cinematic. (Working on a fix, sometimes cinematic does not trigger for some reason).
-New weapons added.
-Many other small features/content were added.



Bugs/Fixes:
-Bug fixed where demons and other special units rapidly fired off their abilities in multiplayer.
-Freeze lags some reduced somewhat(Very difficult to reduce this being streamed open world).
-Performance increase in large crowds.
-Shading improvements for distant buildings.
-Reduced the number of knights and demons in Foot tower.
-Fixes in the Secure Kirkwall quest.
-Many other small bugs/fixes were resolved.

Note: Max level was not increased for this update. We determined level 60 was sufficient for the content we added.
