Hello again, Table Manners players!

Echo Chamber Games here. Thank you so much for all your feedback so far - both good and bad! It's been incredibly helpful for the team to see what's working well, and what we need to take a closer look at.

We're super pleased to say our patch is now live, which addresses the following:
  • Controller support is here! Once you've passed the initial setup screen, just plug in an Xbox or PS4 controller to start playing. Controller keys can binded on the settings menu. You can find the default bindings below:

  • We’ve fixed lots of bug and crash errors, including item respawns and missing animations. If you launch your newly updated game and your customisation items are missing, fear not! Just visit the customisation area - your items are still unlocked so just re-apply them

  • Ketchup-based objectives are now much easier, thanks to reduced the Ketchup tolerance (yes that's a thing)!
  • Champagne bottles now respawn correctly

  • Left-handed mode was been tweaked. For example, chopsticks are now held correctly - as is the ring in the final level (shh!)

  • Pepper and Salt UI has been changed to make each pot easier to identify
  • Arrow keys can now be binded from the settings menu

  • Fixed an issue when the Achievement '#MagnumOps' (complete all levels in liquid of courage) was unlocked after rebooting the game

  • Chopsticks are now easier to detach. When you use a chopstick, press the left-click to grab. When you see the rounded icon, that means the chopstick is about to detach. Press the left-click again to keep them.

  • You can now pick up fish and other small items with utensils, just as nature intended!

  • Additional fixes:
    • Ending level - champagne now respawns correctly
    • Level 4-3 - removed unexpected collision issue
    • Tutorial - fixed issue where the beer was not respawning
    • Fix issue on some levels where the data animation was making it harder for the player to complete the objective
    • Fix issue with save data not compatible with previous versions
    • Fix an issue where the player will get damaged if holding food for too long
    • Dating App - reduce the amount of repetitive message
    • Arrow keys can now be binded
Think this patch has improved the game? Then we'd love it if you updated your review on Steam!

Stay tuned to this channel for more updates as soon as we have them.

Lots of love,
Echo Chamber Games

Hello all,

Echo Chamber Games here! We want to thank everyone for their support over the launch weekend. It's been a great experience watching the insane amount of Twitch streamers and YouTube content creators having fun with Table Manners, as well as seeing comments both positive and negative not only here, but also on social media.

While we have you, if you've purchased Table Manners and you enjoy the game, we'd love if you could leave us a positive review on Steam! It really helps us not only know that we're doing well and what you like, but it also means a lot to us being the small development team that we are.

That being said, we wanted to address the issues that people have raised one by one and inform you of our plans in the next few weeks, so please see below!

Table Manners VR Support
One of the most requested features throughout our entire time developing this game, we hear you - we really do! There are discussions in the pipeline, but nothing to release or announce at this moment in time. As soon as that changes we’ll let you know.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
We've been cataloguing all of the bug reports that we've received over the past few days, and are working diligently to iron things out. Rest assured you'll see updates dropping over the comings days fixing myriad issues - and we'll be posting Patch Notes of these as they go live.

Controller Support
Controller Support is in development and we'll keep you abreast of the situation in the coming days. We believe we'll have this finalised within a week or two, and you'll also see the store page game features updated with confirmation of this when it is finalised.

Controls are too difficult/different/weird!
It's easy to miss, but you can actually rebind a large number of your keys. Simply navigate to the computer on the right of the desk, and you'll be able to access a load of settings here. We'll be expanding the options menu in the pause menu soon to also include all of these settings.

If you have any more feedback, we'd love for you to tell us on the forums. Communicating with us this way we'll be able to get back to you promptly and let you know a more direct resolution or road-map for any issues you might be having!

That's about it for now. Again, we want to thank you so much for supporting us, and the game over the launch weekend! Please look out for more posts and updates in the coming days.

Lots of love,

Hello from the team here at Echo Chamber Games!

We're so excited to finally say that Table Manners: The Physics-based Dating Game is out on Steam today, handing romantics the world over the chance to find love in the middle of abject chaos!

Taking on the role of a disembodied hand with a knack for catastrophe, this tongue-in-cheek experience hands people the challenge of finding love when even the simplest of exercises - like pouring a glass of wine for your would-be partner, or lighting a candle to aid the ambience - is a mammoth make or break task.

Add in some especially unique settings - dates aboard a cruise ship, or a mile up in the air on a private jet are anything but everyday occurrences - and you’ve got an experience where every moment is utterly fraught with danger and hilarity, and fit to rival any real-life liaison you may have lined up for this year’s Valentines. Table Manners also features a ‘left-handed mode’ to ensure everyone can get it on the affair.

We're so proud of the game and can't wait for you to all get your hands on it. It's been a labour of love for the whole team, and it's going to be amazing to see the weird and wonderful things you all get up to.

But wait! Before you head off for your first date, here are some handy tips to help you on your way:
  • Just like the real world of dating, there's actually a goal to all this madness. Make your way through enough dates and someone might have a special question for you…

  • If your precious ketchup bottle goes tumbling to the floor, don't fret: any object that isn't obtained via the in-game ordering menu will respawn on the table faster than you can say, 'when'

  • Mix it up! The more varied your dates, the more rewards you'll ultimately unlock - just like real life! Aim for the most hearts to achieve even more unlockables

  • Grab yourself a G&T and keep your eyes peeled for a booze-fuelled level modifier called 'Liquid Courage' that puts a drunken spin on the world of dating

  • Be sure to check out the Table Manners' built-in 'How to play' guide in the main menu if you get stuck along the way

  • Having trouble picking up that pesky pepper pot? Don't forget you can customise your controls at any time in the settings menu. Note: One hole for salt, many holes for pepper

Table Manners launches today on Steam for PC for £14.99/€16.99 /$17.99.

Let us know what you think, and look forward to chatting with you in the forums!

Lots of love,

Curve Digital, Echo Chamber Games and NHS Blood and Transplant are delighted to announce that they are collaborating to promote blood donation to video gamers across England in the forthcoming physics-based dating game, Table Manners.

This collaboration is part of NHS Blood & Transplant’s ‘What’s Your Type?’ marketing campaign which is encouraging certain types of people to start donating blood. Men are particularly in need as their blood is used to provide life-saving products like plasma and platelets – to save victims of burns, car crashes and to treat patients with cancer. During February, NHS Blood and Transplant is especially hoping to recruit new male donors with the O negative, B negative and A negative blood types- though all donors are of course encouraged and welcomed.

The partnership will see Give Blood messaging added in-game to Table Manners in time for launch on PC Friday, 14th February, as well as multiple messages to the community in the run up to launch. Additionally, all those who visit the Give Blood NHS Twitter channel will be able to register for a chance to win one of 100 digital copies of the game.

The scene is set: You’ve been trawling through the dating apps for weeks and, bang in time for Valentine’s Day, you’ve matched with someone who wants to meet up just as you scout out the perfect restaurant to boot. Dressed to impress, you head out to make that vital positive first impression...only to remember that you’re a disembodied hand with a knack for catastrophe. Oops.

Ready to prove any calamitous date you’ve had in real life wasn’t as bad as you thought, Curve Digital and Echo Chamber Games are proud to announce their new first-person dating game, Table Manners: The Physics-based Dating Game, will launch on PC on the especially appropriate date of Friday 14th February 2020 - better known as Valentine’s Day.

This tongue-in-cheek experience hands people the task of taking charge of a would-be romantic eager for love. As stated, however, said suitor is hampered by the fact they are nothing more than a disembodied hand, making everything from pouring the object of your affection a glass of wine to lighting candles to create a romantic ambiance a mammoth make or break task.

Throw in some unique settings - it’s safe to say dates aboard a cruise ship, or a mile up in the air on a private jet are anything but ‘every day’ - and you’ve got an experience where every moment is utterly fraught with danger and hilarity, and fit to rival any real-life liaison you may have lined up for this year’s Valentines.

You can check out the release date announcement trailer below:

Nice job: you’ve bagged yourself a date. A night of romance is officially on the cards, you lucky thing.

You’ve booked the fanciest restaurant in town, put on your cleanest underwear, and your date looks totally unreal. All that’s left to do now is draw the blinds, light some candles, and make sure your graphics drivers are fully up-to-date. We wouldn’t want any performance issues, now would we?

That’s right: it’s time to swipe right for Table Manners, the brand-new crazy physics-based dating simulator!

Table Manners allows you to chat, joke and flirt your way to the dinner table with a huge variety of weird and wonderful dates. But getting to the table is the easy part. Even the most perfect of evenings can quickly fall apart as you fight against Table Manner’s glorious physics. Before you know it, you’ll be putting out your third table fire with a half-finished glass of pinot grigio - and that stuff’s expensive. From slick sushi bars to bedazzled boats, there are a whole manner of fancy locations for you to systematically destroy any chance of happiness you have. Just like real life!

With Table Manners, developer Echo Chamber Games has just one goal: ruin the world of romance for everyone. But who needs real-life dating when you can try to feed digital brownies to a computer game with your disembodied hand?

Here's Echo Chamber's own Gavin Stewart with a few words of advice:

"If at first if you don't succeed, try, try, and get blocked again. Don't fret, there's plenty of fish in the sea and the restaurant owners appreciate your business. Completing the challenges your date asks of you will net you the sweet nectar of happiness and maintain their interest in you. The quicker you complete the challenges, the more score you'll earn; unlocking some neat customization options for your hand. Order, pour, season, serve, and cook your way to your date's heart. Just try not to set the table on fire... the restaurant owners are less fond of that. Good luck and have fun!".

Table Manners, the calamitous new physics dating sim, is heading to Steam next year. Add it to your Wishlist now - and don’t forget to stock up on candles. We like cherry blossom.
