Hi everyone, last week we reduced the price of Bitmap2Material from $99.99 to $49.99 and the Pro version from $149.99 to 74.99$.

Bitmap2Material, after 6 years of loyal service, is reaching its end of life and will not receive any further update. As you may be aware, Substance Alchemist, available through the Substance subscription, now includes a similar version of Bitmap2Material and will add a new AI powered Image to Material feature in its next update.

This new feature, like Bitmap2Material, allows you to generate a full material from a single image but rather than using simple image processing, the AI can recognize shapes and objects in the image and generate a normal map and other channels from it. The quality generated by this new tools is incredible and miles better than Bitmap2Material can ever hope to produce, so this is where our efforts will be focused from now on.

We want to thank all of you for using Bitmap2Material over the past few years, we never thought this little handy tool would have such success and we hope you will be able to try out the new AI Image to Material very soon!

Hi everyone,

You may have noticed that there was a lot of confusion around the loyalty coupons to upgrade from Substance Painter 2 to Substance Painter 2018 during the sale.

This was caused my multiple issues and misunderstandings colliding at the worst possible time and we are sorry for the trouble that ensued.

The upgrade coupon was supposed to let you upgrade for 33% of the original price ($50 instead $149). Since unfortunately we didn't manage to have this coupon properly available by the end of the sale, we are setting up a new -66% discount which will be available until the end of the week.

The discount will be applied automatically to the purchase price on the Store page for Substance Painter 2018.

Today’s release marks the first iteration of our new number-less release cycle. Subsequent releases will be named after the current year rather than a major version number. But enough with the technicalities, here is what’s new in Substance Painter:
