Hey Splitfam!

We are thrilled to announce The Splitty Awards, an exciting multi-week event that is all about celebrating the creativity, talent, and passion within the Splitgate community. This event is designed to recognize and honor the amazing content and players that have made our community and game what it is today. We couldn’t be here today without the incredible support of our passionate players, so we wanted to take some time and give back.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be asking for all of you to share your clips, best moments and favorite players with us across social media (use #SplittyAwards) and our Discord server. In return, we’ll be nominating some of the very best for the chance to win a physical trophy during a live awards show! The best part is, it’ll be you, the community, who chooses the winners.

The weeks-long festivities will culminate in a live-broadcast awards show where we'll announce our winners and present their awards. Following the event, we'll kick off a weekend of exciting events and giveaways that you won't want to miss. There may even be a surprise or two.




Nominations begin today across five different categories. They are:

Best Gameplay Clip: This award is for the Splitgate player who has captured the most impressive gameplay clip. Whether it’s a jaw-dropping shot, a clever strategy, or an inspiring portal moment, we want to see it!

Best Community-Made Map: In this category, we’ll look to recognize the creator of the most innovative and fun-to-play community-built map. We’re looking for maps that offer a unique gameplay experience and showcase the creativity of our community developers!

Most Creative Splitgate Content Creator: Have a favorite content creator who consistently came up with fresh and engaging content around Splitgate? Whether it’s through YouTube videos, Twitch streams, or TikTok clips, we want to recognize the content creators who keep the community entertained and engaged.

Best Splitgate Player: Outstanding gunplay, intense portal shots, lightning fast movement. Tell us which players have shown exceptional skill and sportsmanship in Splitgate. We’re looking for players who not only excel at the game but also contribute positively to the community.

Funniest Splitgate Moment: We all deserve a good laugh! Vote for the player who has captured the funniest moment in Splitgate. Whether it’s a hilarious fail, a funny glitch, a silly meme, or a comedic portal use, we want to share in the laughter!


The nomination period begins today and runs through March 31, 2024. During this time, you can nominate yourself or others in the community for any of the five awards. To participate, either share your own content or nominate someone else on X (aka Twitter) using the hashtag #SplittyAwards. For those who prefer Discord, you can make your nominations here.

Once the nomination period ends, our team at 1047 Games will review all of the entries. We’ll be looking for submissions that truly stand out and exemplify the spirit of each award.

On April 10, we will announce the finalists in each of the five categories. These finalists will represent the best of the best, and it will be up to you, the community, to decide who should win each award.

Voting will take place from April 10 to April 16. During this period, you can cast your vote for your favorite finalist in each category. We'll share additional details closer to the end of the nomination period. Throughout the course of The Splitty Awards, we’ll be hosting some fun community events, as well as some very cool and rare in-game items in order to further celebrate our players. We don’t want to give it all away today, but here’s a sneak peek at some of the festivities - all of which we’ll have more to share on soon across our channels:

We’ll be giving away a FREE in-game item in the Item Shop for each day of The Splitty Awards! That’s 49 (or more) free items!
Special in-game items that were unreleased and exclusive.
A celebratory weekend after the event ends, where we will have a few more surprises and fun engaging things to do in-game!

Join the Trickshot Showdown Discord event, where players queue up in a special featured playlist and try to capture their most impressive gaming moments. Take the chance to immortalize your portal glory and submit your best gaming clips for The Splitty Awards afterwards! All participants will have an opportunity to win Moe'Goth armor, a never released or seen cosmetic and tons of drops!

Explore the best and the most creative community-made maps and game modes in custom game lobbies or special featured playlist! Simply participate for a chance to win unique Ferdinand armor and many drops. Don't miss it out!




Join the arena and play in our special featured playlist, where you’ll face off against 1047 devs. Defeat a developer or emerge victorious alongside them to claim a special drop prize! But that's not all - simply participating guarantees you an exclusive Baba Yaga armor!


The Splitty Awards will then culminate in a livestream on Splitgate’s official Twitch channel. This special live show will be a celebration of our community and the amazing content you’ve created and shared with us over the course of the event, as well as all of the years of portalling fun across Splitgate.

During the event, we will announce the winners of the five awards. Each winner will receive a Splitgate-inspired physical trophy as a token of our appreciation and recognition of their talent and creativity!

But that’s not all…we’ll also have a few surprises throughout the show, including more free stuff, and a weekend of fun to keep the party going. We’re excited to celebrate with you and can’t wait to see who will take home the awards. We’ll be sharing more details about the live show closer to the event.

We can’t wait to see the clips and players you’ll share with us in the weeks ahead. It’s about time we honor and appreciate all that makes the Splitgate community great, and we have some amazing things lined up for the festivities. We really hope you’ll join us on the journey.

Hi Splitfam! Even though this is the final major update to Splitgate, we still have a bunch of patch notes to share. If this is the first time you’ve heard about a final update, check out our recent letter and FAQ. Those two sources will tell you why Splitgate development is ending, why 1047 Games is focused on the next game, and some other questions you might have. If you’re already informed, let’s talk about what’s new!

Like our previous seasonal updates, there’s a new Battle Pass, some gameplay tweaks, and a ton of bug fixes. The main difference with this update is our focus on making Splitgate last for the long-term without new features. Earlier this week we revealed the free Infinite Battle Pass and the new duplicate item drops system. Read all about it in our previous blog or keep reading about it in the patch notes below.

• New, free 100 level Battle Pass complete with three new characters, weapon skins, Splitcoin, and more
  
• After completing 100 levels, the Battle Pass will reward players with a free drop every 5 levels after that, infinitely
  
• Premium Season challenges are now free - this means all parts of the Battle Pass are free for everyone
  
• High-quality brand new character season reward for completing all “Free” tier challenge stages
  
• Added Beta Season 2 Ranked Reward gun skins, will distribute sometime after the Sept. 15 update

• Bullet size no longer increases when being shot through a portal

That’s all for this update, so what’s next for Splitgate? First, expect a post-update hotfix to resolve unexpected issues that may come from today’s release. That will come in the following weeks. After that, Splitgate won’t be receiving any more updates unless a widespread, game-breaking bug needs fixing. A game-breaking bug is any issue that prevents a large number of players from playing the game. Other than that, our engineers and artists are completely focused on the next game.

But that’s not the end of Splitgate’s story! Servers are staying up indefinitely, and the community team and I will continue to cycle featured playlists, update the item shop, put community made maps on rotation, and host community events! We’ll continue to pay close attention to any feedback you have about featured playlists and events by giving the community surveys and polls on Twitter and Discord. Definitely follow us there to stay up to date!

It’s time to reveal the reward for completing all Season 1 Challenges. There are four stages in total, with the final stage releasing on March 31. Complete every challenge and you get this incredible Shogun skin.

• Ever tossed an EMP ‘nade at an enemy portal and thought, “I sure wish this effect was turned to 11?” Us, too! Well, our VFX artist Pavel Mazanik went into the lab and cranked this sucker right to 12. Now your portal poppin’ grenades will have a little extra pizzazz. Check it with your eyeballs.

Beta Season 1 has been a long time coming, for both us at 1047 Games and for the Splitgate community! 5 months ago, we released Beta Season 0 with Karman Station, its Battle Pass, and a few other additions like the Contamination game mode. Since then we've released multiple mid-season updates, but nothing quite like today.

• Map Creator mode enables players to make their own custom maps in a new blank-slate level called, "Flat Earth"
  
• Place a wide variety of map geometry such as ramps, walls, floors, blocks, props, and more

It’s an incredible day for everyone at the studio! All the progress we’ve made during the Beta was no small task, and all that work has resulted in what you’ll see in Season 0. On to the Patch Notes!



Karman Station – A reimagining of the original map, Outpost. Karman Station replaces Outpost on our roster of Maps. Those of you who played before the Beta will recognize the similarities, but most importantly, the improvements!



Season 0 Battle Pass – The Battle Pass has 100 Levels of brand-new items, exclusive to the Pass! Included in the Pass are: New Armors, Weapon Skins, Name Tags, Banners, and a Portal Skin! Season Challenges are fully unlocked with the BP!



Contamination – New asymmetrical mode with two teams. The “Contaminated” team starts with Bats only and seeks to frag the “Human” team, who have shotguns. When a Human team member dies, they respawn on the Contaminated team. Game ends when time runs out or if all players are contaminated.

Casual Team Rumble – A new casual playlist with various game modes too wacky for normal casual! Game modes include Contamination, Big Head Snipers, Splitball, and more!

Final Kill Cam – Feature added by popular demand, you can now see the final kill of the game!

Pistol Rework – Balance Changes: Fully Auto, .125 fire rate,15.5 body, 17.5 head

Aim Assist Slider – Some of you requested that you be able to turn off/scale down the Aim Assist for controllers. 100% Aim Assist = what the Aim Assist has been before this update.

Overtime – King of the Hill, VIP, and Oddball now has Overtime.

Doing all Daily Challenges gives a drop.

New Referral Pass – 9 Levels with new items! New referrals will only count towards the new referral pass.

Custom Games Browser - added searching and filtering.



You can now shoot portals through the bodies of allies.

Killcam is enabled in all modes now (ex: SWAT). We saw your petition.

Ranks – More Elo Divisions have been added. i.e. ELO 3000 =Diamond 1, ELO 3300 = Diamond 4, etc.



Team switching – custom games option for switching teams during the match.

Pickup Zone Text visibility improvements.

Updated Hills and DOM points on certain maps.

Hill Mesh updated.

Beta BP bug fixed - You can equip items 11-15 from the Beta Battle Pass in your locker. (Beta Fish is happy)

Footstep audio fixed.
