Hi, Warriors! This time, we are bringing a new version which the battle rhythm has been greatly improved to you! Attack speed is faster! The damage is higher! We benefits the players with giving you a bigger chance to beat three players by themselves! Also, there is new game mode, 3v3 capture battle, come and carry your teammates!

Key improvements
  • Improved the combat system, the team organization system and the rhythm of the game.
  • Redesigned the drop system of classic mode. Equips used to drop in random spots, now is changed to drop at the specific spots.
  • A new game mode of 3v3.


Combat system adjustments
  • Greatly improved the rhythm of the combat.
    • Improved the attack speed of most weapons, greatly improved the damage of the main weapons.
    • Decreased the attack times of the light weapons and standard weapons’ combo, but the total damage of the combo doesn’t change.
    • Slightly increased the speed and distance of the rolling.
  • Weakened the attack method beyond the main weapon.
    • Greatly increased the CD of the spells and sub weapons.
    • The trajectory of bow and crossbow has been modified to be a straight line instead of a parabola.
  • Added some new combat mechanics:
    • After the main weapon hitting the enemy, it will return 50% of the stamina consumed by this attack.
    • After expelling the enemy, you will get a buff which helps your recovering.
    • After hitting down the enemy, you will get a buff only last for 8 seconds, and helps you to immediately relieve the state of being unable to sprint.
  • About team organizing system:
    • Unless you are using the main weapon, you won’t be blocked by your teammates.
    • Added a new magic weapon. [Serpent Staff]. This is a long-range weapon which is better used in the team combat, but the shoot distance is not very long, also limited with CD, and it cannot trigger the hit effect.


Redesigned the drop system of classic mode

In the past versions, the treasure chest and barrels are set at random places, and the probability of falling in each area is uniform. So there is no differences of each areas. Now, we have some new changes:
  • The treasure chest is classified into 4 qualities (white, blue, purple, golden), the number and spot are settled. The equips in golden chest is stationary.
  • The equips are never dropped from the barrels, instead of showing on the random spots.
  • The spots of the treasure chests are showed on the map, you can mark it.

Capture mode (Competitive mode)

  • Players: 3v3
  • Rules: Capture the gate! The team whose total control time reaches 100 seconds scores first and opens the next round.
  • The winning rule: 2 out of 3 games.

Misc

  • Adjusted the map [Ancient maze], It is mainly due to the significant reduction of the upper left and upper right forest areas.
  • Redesigned the effects of the armor repair and some buffs.
  • Improved some UI issues (Shop, Cardpack, Items picking, Combat results, Spectator system)
  • Added the UI of knocking down the enemy which are showed by achievement sign.
  • Improved the intelligent level of the navigation line.

Hello Warriors!

From this update, we will try to add some fast-paced, battle-based, less player requested gameplay, and the “free combat” is our first try.

Major update
  • Added free combat gameplay, 6 players per match, unlimited revival.
  • Added compete mode and revival mode. Players can set up the combat equips in the compete mode.
  • Adjusted the operations of rushing and rolling, removed the magic value. Removed abilities of some combat skills to pass through the enemy.
  • Updated the animation of being attacked, it has been refined from the previous one into many. The animations attacked by the enemy from up, down, left and right are different now, which are same in the previous version.

Free combat gameplay
  • Players scale: 6 players (solo)
  • Map: Silent Cemetery
  • Scoring rule: Players can get 1 point through knocking down one other player. Assists cannot be scored, and players need get the final attack to get scores.
  • Revival rule: If you are knocked down, you will respawn at random locations. In this mode, each respawn will randomly change equips without re-pickup.
  • Winning rule: The player who reach 20 points wins; if no players reaches this goal at the end of the time, the players with the most points wins.

Compete mode and Revival mode
  • In compete mode, players can freely configure equips and wear them every time they respawn. All equips will occupy the equips points, so that it is difficult for players to match a very perfect character, and some trade-offs need to be made. Some collocations tend to be survivable, some collocations tend to be offensive, and some are good at poking.
  • Other gameplay that do not require pre-installation will be classified in the revival mode.

Combat system adjustment
  • The rushing operation is changed from long-pressing the space bar to quickly clicking twice on the arrow keys. This is a common design used in arcade games. This change can make some attack requires rushing much easier to launch, and we will decide whether to increase the limit to sprint attack after a period of time.
  • The rolling operation is triggered from the previous press of the space, and it is modified to trigger immediately when it is pressed. This will make the rolling operation more immediate.
  • Removed the magic value, and related items. Now the spell using is only limited by the cool down time.
  • Removed the pass through function of dagger’s combat skill, katana’s combat skill and pyrodance, as they caused some jitter bugs and could not be resolved for a long time.

Season 1 Arrived

Season Period: 01/2020-03/2020

A new and more exciting season has begun! Come and join it! This season lasts about 2 months, and players can unlock 100 rewards to unlock by completing a variety of missions and leveling up your pass. Also 40 brand new cosmetics are on the list!



As the spring festival is coming, we prepared a series of new events for you. There are some new spring festival theme cosmetics: Red Lantern, Chinese wring brush and others. BTW, the Chinese writing brush is a cosmetic of great club, and the attack effects looks like ink.

Weapon & Item Balance Update

1.Fixed the issue that some weapons have bugs in fight straight system, this won’t appear in the training camp but in the matches. It will make some high speed weapons get more attack combo, especially the twin blades.

2.Reduced the time of knee down status caused by shield parry/gun parry. So it is much better for high speed weapon holder to give the enemy a throw than attack after the knee down.

3.Increased twin blades third beat back distance, in order to ensure there is still a chance for enemy to roll over.

4.Increased the move distance of Great Scythe’s special skill, and reduced the stardust cost.

5.Increased the move distance of Mace’s special skill.

6.Increased the move distance of Battle axe’s first and fourth attack, and attack damage.

7.Increased the move distance of Dagger’s first and second attack, reduced the stamina cost of its special skill’s second attack.

8.Increased the move distance of Nodachi’s special skill first attack.

9.Reduced the stamina cost and damage of Club.

10.Increased Katana third beat back distance, in order to avoid being attacked by the Katana’s special skill which launch after the 3 hit, no matter which direction the players roll, they will hit by its special skill.

11.Increased the MP cost of Cone of ice.

12.Reduced the MP cost and CD of Pyrodance.

13.Increased the remaining time of Escapology, the acceleration effect of the enhanced Escapology has been changed to gradually decay.

14.Reduced the CD of the Short Bow, increased its ammo limit and recovery speed.

15.Increased the CD of Blunderbuss, and it is only dropped by the third Treasure Hunter.

16.Increaed the enhanced Longbow’s charging speed.

17.The Poison Gas Bottle and Whip Sword are no longer in the Treasure Hunter’s bag, you can find them in the map.

18.Amethyst and Conservation Rune are put into Treasure Hunter’s bag. You can get them from the fourth treasure hunter.

19.The large room doesn’t drop the main weapon’s enhanced items.

20.You cannot find Wind Essence and Lightning Essence in the chest, only can be found in the barrels.

It’s really been a while since we made a new update. We are really sorry to let you wait so long. But we prepared a lot for you in this update! We did improve a lot in the game appearance and add more useful functions! Hope you could enjoy it.

Art improvements
  • Character art improvements
1.Changed the Basic Armors and Advanced Armors, they look more pretty now.




2.Changed the material of all the cosmetics, they look much better now.


3.Added dynamic effects to the cosmetics. For example, the hair will not sway with the movement in the previous version.
4.Players can show their weapon in the lobby with different postures.

Other Improvements
  1. Fixed the issue that some of the sounds are too little in the previous versions.
  2. Remade the Heroic Helmet.
  3. Adjusted the logic of the weapons’ attack lights, and fixed the issue that players were killed in the combat and the attack lights will not be interrupted.
  4. Added the “skip” option of the opening card pack animation.
  5. Added the animation to automatically redeem Dragon glasses: When players obtain repeated cosmetics, they will be automatically converted into Dragon glasses.

The solo mode of Soulfire has finally arrived, and there is no longer any need to worry about matching the unreliable teammates, who always prevent me from victory! I heard that the new version also added some powerful weapons, so I interviewed the producer of Soulfire, PixelBacterium (PB for short), to understand the latest information.



I: Hello PB, I heard that the latest version of Soulfire has added a very powerful primary weapon - whip sword. What is its design inspiration?

PB: Whip sword is a relatively common type of weapon in ACG. There are characters in SoulCalibur to use this weapon, and in Bloodborne. In short, it is a weapon with two forms, sword and whip. There are also many cases in comic, such as Tenjō Tenge and Bleach. There are also chain sword in Pacific Rim, but mainly in the form of sword. Of course, there is no such thing in reality, because with such a structure, it is difficult to guarantee the performance of the sword form. However, it looks cool. We also have other deformable weapons under development.





I: It seems to be very powerful. Will the addition of the whip sword destroy the game balance?

PB: The whip sword is found in the treasure chest of the fourth treasure thief only. There is only one whip sword in one match. Its strength is definitely more than other weapons. However, this strength is not numerically, but the versatility of the action module. Its general attack is the speed of standard weapons, and the combat skill has the range of heavy weapons. The advantages of both weapons are taken into account, and there are no shortcomings. If you do want to ask for its shortcomings, it is that its impact level and hyper-armor level are only equivalent to tier 2 weapons. While to be honest, the disadvantages in actual combat are negligible.



I: The new secondary weapon, poison gas bottle, when should I use it?

PB: The positioning of the poison gas bottle is a group battle weapon that can force the enemies to move in one position. It is not suitable for solo match, but it can be used in place such as edge of the dreamland gate. However, the damage of the poison gas bottle is not high at present, which may need some enhancement.
