Sneak Thief - Rippo
In this update I've added new optimizations to allow Sneak Thief to run on more systems at 60 fps. Any system with a modern GPU should now be able to run Sneak Thief at high settings averaging 60 fps. Older GPUs/Systems will now be able to support the game as well. Essentially the performance of the game should no longer be an issue! (So long as you have a modern computer with dedicated graphics)

So whats new?
-Added Dynamic Resolution
-Added Support for Nvidia DLSS
-Moved some lights from real-time to baked to decrease gpu overhead
- Switched from C# JIT Compiler to IL2CPP, meaning instead of running in the mono VM the game is directly compiled to machine code. Decreasing the size of the game on disk and increasing the performance of the game.

I know most of these features should have been available on launch however with the time it took to get 1.0 out I felt pressured to release it. With any new update comes the potential for more bugs so please report any issues and I will have them fixed ASAP.

More to come soon!

Sneak Thief - Rippo
The time is finally here, early access limbo has been left!

Released one day early too ;)

First I'd like to thank everyone for the continued support of this project. It was the first big game I had ever made and has completely changed my life. I'm so happy to see it where it is today I hope you all enjoy what I have been working on!

With that being said if you would like to still play the legacy version of Sneak Thief it is still included! To play it you can either select it when launching the game or access it through Sneak Thief 1.0's main menu.

So whats next? Will there be anymore updates? Yes! There will be.

Here is a timeline of whats planned
1) Hot-fixes for this update
It's impossible to test this on every single system and for any possible bug. So I'll be releasing patches throughout this next month trying to fix any issues (bugs, performance, or general complaints) that appear so please report bugs I'll be on standby to fix them ASAP.
2) content patches
There is still some more content that needs to be added such as replacing static fixtures and adding in more items to the game. These will be out repeatedly throughout the next few weeks. These are minor improvements as per why they aren't in the initial update.
3) New level
I plan to add a new level, it's already being made but I figured it's more important to focus on the remake of the original levels with this update. (Hint: it's a casino)
4) Mod support
I'm working on a unity dll that can be used so the game can be completely moddable within the unity engine. No clear window for when this will be out, it's something I've never done before but I want it to be done right unlike the original level editor. I also hope to release the full project files for the legacy version so anyone can make any sort of spin-off they'd like to! This has it's own set of challenges since it was made in a very old version of unity (5-6 years old at this point) so this part is on the back burner.

Release Date: May 8th
Sneak Thief - Rippo

It's Finally here! Sorry about the delay school ramped up for me last semester and didn't have much time to work. However this semester is a lot lighter so I've been able to dedicate a ton of time to this update. Expect the release this summer!
Sneak Thief - Rippo
I'd like to start off by saying sorry for the lack of information regarding sneak thief, I'm currently the only developer and I'm a junior in college so finding time is not easy. However I have some exciting news to share with you all.

So what has been going on with Sneak Thief? I wasn't happy releasing Sneak Thief from early access in its current state, I attempted an overhaul of Sneak Thief's current build a year ago and wasn't happy with the results so I decided to Completely remake the game. I understand everyone is itching for new content but I want this game to be the best it can be and that means I have to put in the time to make it exactly how I wanted Sneak Thief to be at the start. That also means there is a new AI system, better performance from implementing unity jobs and multi-threaded tasks, new weapon system, new character controller, better lighting thanks to unity HDRP, all new photoscanned textures and meshes, and a complete redesign/reimagining of all the levels while staying true to the original gameplay of sneak thief. And don't worry the classic version of sneak thief will still be playable upon release.

Currently all core systems of the game are completed and 10/16 levels have been completed. I don't want to share a release date because it is really hard to estimate how long the next levels will take me to complete but I am hoping to be done before October. A trailer for Sneak Thief 1.0 will be released in August.

Thanks guys and don't forget to leave any comments, questions, and suggestions below! I've been working really hard on this new version and by the time it comes out I hope you all enjoy it and find it worth the wait!

Screenshots of new content, please remember this is a wip and everything is subject to change:

Sneak Thief - Rippo
As promised here are some screenshots of the new update!
(Keep in mind the update is NOT released yet, release is still planned for end of August)
Performance!
Here is the frame rate change on the mansion level after reworked lighting and the new AI system:

Although fps will vary by system we can see that the cpu time has been reduced by 10 times as well as the render thread! This is similar across all other levels, meaning you should be able to run the game with the new update on nearly any computer!

Graphical Improvements:

The screenshots are from home invasion, the mansion, and the collector. In comparison to current Sneak Thief graphics you will noticed improved lighting (more reflections, less weird artifacts, improved lighting interaction with non-static objects), Improved textures (8k resolution photoscans, you will be able to reduce this in graphical settings if you are playing on an older system), and more detailed meshes.
Keep in mind the update is not finished new textures and new meshes are still being added among other improvements. So, what you see in these screenshots is subject to change however it will give you a good idea as to what sneak thief will look like upon the release of this update!

Thanks to the community for all the support while I work on this! I hope to get it out as soon as possible, and as always if you have any questions feel free to ask!
