WELCOME TO SCP: GROUND ZERO!




We've decided we'll be changing our official name on Steam after full release sometime this year.
This is to directly counter the old version of the game which was very similar to other SCP games of that time.



Here are some expected changes in the full release:
  • Gamemodes
    The 5 new gamemodes allow for varied gameplay - are you looking for a shooting gallery? We have it. Are you looking for a horror experience? It's there. And finally, are you looking for an SCP FPS about infiltrating the facility itself? We have that too.
    And if you're interested, there's also a mode where you can spawn in any item or enemy and do as you wish.



    Point is, this should allow for much more varied ways to play the game!


  • Facility Generation
    This one's obvious, now facilities will generate randomly for more replayable gameplay. This also means some story elements, items and enemies will also be random!



    You can also set a seed or use a random one which means sharing layouts will be quick and easy!


  • New Enemies
    Meet the Cobras! Mobile Task Force unit designated Charlie-9, a highly trained and highly armed branch of MTF designed specifically to protect Area-14 (Which is our new location).



    They will be quite a challenge, they won't go alone, they'll hunt you down and they'll be watching your every step.
    We haven't forgotten about SCPs either, all SCP will be reworked to be harder and smarter adversaries.


  • New Combat
    What better way to kill the previously mentioned new enemies than with a new arsenal of weapons!
    Previously, we only had a pistol. Now, our arsenal includes Shotguns, Rifles, Railguns, Flamethrowers and more!



    These weapons will be extremely useful against the new SCP enemies too!


  • So Much More!
    New characters, environments, optimising, gameplay, sound improvements and so much more!

Note that the name will only be changed AFTER the update has released.

What's Been Going On?
We haven't posted any updates almost all year and we've heard people say the game is abandoned. That is in no way the case! The update is taking us a long time since we really want to make the most content possible. New guns, locations, graphical improvements, optimisations, story elements etc.


We've been focusing a lot on making the combat unique and fun but also staying within the lines of the SCP lore and, of course, making sure the SCPs are still terrifying.

Raw, uncut gameplay of a short battle within Light Containment against Special Forces.
We've tried to make the AI advanced to actually pose a threat - they'll talk to other members about where you are, if you're hiding, they'll investigate sounds they hear etc.

Hello!

We wanted to make a quick announcement about the progress of our newest update! Currently, our plan is to stray further from other games similar to this one and work on improving gameplay and optimisation. As of now, we have many core features added and lots of exciting stuff to come such as:


NEW GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS

These new gameplay changes and areas are accompanied by a variety of new exciting puzzles and challenges which will hopefully increase overall game-time but also increase general diversity in gameplay since, as of now, the game is very "monotone". We've negated this by making the game a lot more focus on combat!(More on that below)

BETTER MOVEMENT / MOBILITY

With this new gameplay style we've implemented ventilation shafts that the player can crawl through to get to new locations, complete puzzles or get an advantage on the enemies! (And yes, the enemies are human!)


NEW ENEMIES

We won't get too in-depth with the human enemies as they are still being worked on, but they should act as initial enemies the player faces and the real threat, apart from the SCPs, of course.


NEW COMBAT

These new changes allow us to make combat fun. Before, you could find a pistol, but it was ultimately useless since it would switch your flashlight which you need to see and had limited bullets. Plus, SCPs don't usually care if you're shooting them, which made the guns useless.
With these new enemies, you can expect exciting firefights to take place throughout the facility - You decide the outcome.


We hope to release this update soon, but we still don't have a set date in time, which is why we decided to notify everyone that we are still, in fact, improving the game!

We've been monitoring your suggestions closely and have made some big changes to the game!
This will be a long patch note so it will be split up into sections.
This update should also hopefully help with optimisation and you should see higher frames!

We apologise for the lack of updates recently. We've been mostly working on atmosphere and mood for the game as we felt it didn't fit. This update should make that a bit better which is why we named it the "Horror update".

Change logs:
-Added explosive barrels
-Added new Light Containment room
-Added commotion in background
-Added music in cafeteria
-Added ammo counter to Glock-19
-Added dense fog in facility
-Changed coffee to make you even faster
