Hello fellow Earth-dwellers!

I hope that everyone of you is doing well! Thank you for all the amazing support that you've continuously given us and this project throughout this tough year!



The long strange year of 2020 is finally coming to a close, it goes without saying that our team is no exception when it comes to the challenges and frustrating circumstances that we faced & are still being forced to deal with during this Covid ridden world state, not to mention the daily grind of Indie game development which is already a crazy juggling act to handle - but ultimately, we are deeply grateful for still having one another, for still being able to do what we love the most, for being able to participate in so many digital events & meet so many amazing people from the industry!

This year SAMUDRA is fortunate enough to have participated in digital exhibitions spanning across 7 countries; starting with GDC (US), Gamescom (Germany), Gameprime (Indonesia) & Tokyo Game Show (Japan) following our Beta release in June, which really helped exposed us to so many like-minded audience globally and locally too! We have since then been featured in STEAM Autumn Game Festival, Le Atmosphere Festival (France), Level Up KL (Malaysia), GStar (Korea).

The feedbacks and support that we got from each show was tremendous, we are currently nearing the final bits of the development and the team is working hard to implement the relevant adjustments that we got from players, media, critics, curators, publishers that have shared their thoughts on improving the game, so do stay tune for the the final build of this game!

As for now our schedule release unfortunately is still up in the air for 2021, this is due to an unfortunate Covid situation that affected our team just recently - we are healthy and fine, however we have to regrettably adjust some major chunk of the scheduling due to this, it is frustrating to say the least and it costs us a lot physically, mentally, monetarily, however we are just happy to still have one another.

Lastly, I would just like to take some time to emphasize the importance of being mindful towards others and the environment, ESPECIALLY during this time. Not to sound preachy - but really its too easy to lose all sense of care when s**t hits the fan. The world is probably in the state that she is in because of human negligence in the first place. Just a little act of eco-friendliness day to day like recycling your utensils, utilizing totebags and other green alternatives instead of single-use plastic, just to name a few examples would really go a long way.

"The Earth does not belong to man, Man belongs to the Earth."

In retrospect about 1.5 years ago when we started this project SAMUDRA, we wanted to visualize a consequential post-apocalyptic world that was buried within the negative results of human negligence and ignorance, little do we know that literally this year we would be living in one while developing this game. Perhaps its a great time for reflection for some, perhaps its a year of being thankful for others. What. A. Year.

Falling deep into the deep blue sea, you finally awoken at rock-bottom, now its time to journey your way back to the surface.

SAMUDRA is a hand-illustrated atmospheric experience that takes you through the deepest part of the Sea & Human-condition. This game is a surreal take on a very grounded pollution issue that is rampantly increasing in our dear Ocean, many of the design elements were taken from a real life experience that we the creators are familiar with; mainly Environmental, Cultural & Mental-Health related issues.

Along the way, you stumble upon epic underwater landscape, creative obstacles & puzzles to solve, quirky characters to encounter & help, creepy antagonists to hide & run from, secrets & collectibles to be discovered and of course lots and lots and lotssss of rubbish.

The game only requires 1 button + Directional controls to play, and there is no dialog, so everything is up to your interpretation and observation.

The BETA Demo features the Prologue (tutorial) & skips ahead towards Chapter 2. The full game features a total of 6 Chapters.
