Hello friends,

It's been a while since we posted on We Are Legion: Rome's steam profile. This is due to several facts which we will lay down here.

First of all, as some of you may know, the development for the game is on hold since 2022, since our previous publisher descided to cancel the project. After we regained the sole ownership of the game our goal was and still is, to bring WAL to PC and give you, gamers, a kick-ass slaughter set in ancient Rome times.



For the last ten months we were solely focused on Bandit Simulator, our first FPP game project. The game went through quite a revolution since the begining of the development. We managed to ship a second demo for the last Octobers Steam Festival and provided several updates for the demo already. There is still some work in front of the team but we are closer to closure than ever before.

Our next goal is to secure a publishing deal for Bandit Simulator. Once this is done, we will gradually and consequently pick up We Are Legion: Rome 's development where we had left it back in April 2022.

We are a couple of months short of creating a vertical slice that would showcase what we mean by "kick ass slaughter". If you played Dishonored, God of War or Ghost Runner, you should have a an idea.

We are not going to create escuses for why the game is not here yet and why there was no posts from us. We were devoted to our other game project and as a small indie studio, we need to be smart and focus on sustaining ourselves before we jump all-in into further We Are Legion: Rome development.

The game's return is inevitable, as was Gauls defeat. ;-)

"War, war never changes." There are those who win and those who lose. There are songs about the deeds of OUR brave heroes and scary lullabies about THEIR vile and murderous villains. Unquestionable truths better not to be questioned. Somewhere in the middle, a river of blood is continuously flowing.

They were the bad guys after all. Right?

From the beginning of the creation of We are Legion: Rome we knew what kind of tale we want to tell through our game. It won't be black and white. It won't be in shades of grey either.

The true colours of war are bloody dark red, muddy brown, and fiery orange. History is written by mighty fencers and woe to those who come between their blades.



When we are thinking about Gallic Wars, Gauls and Romans the vision of civilized, disciplined and educated Romans will most often appear in our minds together with an image of hairy and savage but brave image of Gauls.

We have no place in our game for similar pop culture over-simplifications.

We know that on both sides, no matter how nicely the armour of the soldiers gleamed or how well-spoken was the executioner holding the sword, the brutality fuels only more and more brutality.

Currently, we are focused on creating levels for our Battle Scenarios and gradually moving various mechanics, quests and graphics from prototype state to actual game.





There is no proper Gallic Wars without dense, vivid forest where every step can lead to being ambushed.



We are implementing various weathers as well. Roman Legionary fears no rain nor cold.
