Rocket League® - Psyonix_Laudie

Looking for somewhere to meet up with your friends? You can’t beat hanging out at the Boostfield Mall! This new Arena will be open all-hours during Rocket League Season 20 launching September 17.

If you’re going for a day out at the mall, you probably want something fashionable to wear. There’s something to suit all styles in Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium, from the macabre Goth Trail to the comically cheery Yes! Goal Explosion.

The Pass also features two American classics that are always in vogue. Automatically unlock the Pontiac Firebird Car Body when you purchase Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium. Later in the Premium Tiers, unlock the Chevrolet Astro Car Body!

Additionally, you’ll unlock the Mad Rad Wheels just for logging into Rocket League during Season 20. If it looks like these were made out of a mall arcade’s carpet, you may be onto something.

Let’s Go to the Arena… Today!

Shop ‘til you drop? More like boost ‘til you break! Make Friday nights unforgettable by going on a soccar spree at the Boostfield Mall Arena with your BFFs. Anyone wanna catch a movie after the match? Or maybe we can just watch the replay.

4v4 Gets an Upgrade

We’re dialing down the disarray in 4v4 and turning up the strategy. This mode will feature two larger arenas that‘ll better accommodate eight players. The number of boost pads will increase and the layout of them will change to improve the flow of matches.

This mode will have a Competitive version for the duration of Season 20, marking Rocket League’s first new Competitive Playlist in almost seven years! The upgraded 4v4 will also be available as a Casual Playlist.

Revamped Rocket Pass Progression

We want your Rocket Pass progress to be as seamless as an all-in-one shopping complex, so we’re making some changes in Season 20:

  • Drops from Challenges will be replaced by XP.

  • There will no longer be Premium Challenges. All Challenges will be available whether you’ve bought Rocket Pass Premium or not.

  • You’ll earn twice the amount of XP per second from Online Matches, and you’ll be able to earn XP in Private Matches.

  • For Weekly and Seasonal Challenges, the average XP per Challenge will increase. Total XP across each week’s Weekly Challenges will stay the same. Total XP across each Seasonal Challenge Stage will decrease.

Change to Competitive Playlist Access

To access Competitive Playlists, new accounts will have to complete New Driver Challenges instead of reaching Level 20. These Challenges will measure player’s skill, placing them in an appropriate starting rank when they unlock access to Competitive Playlists. This should help new players get into Competitive Playlists sooner. It should also reduce instances of smurfing to help ensure fair and fun matches!

There’s still more work to do to combat smurfing, but we’ll keep you updated along the way.

Tournament Reward Preview

Speaking of competitive play, Season 20 features a fresh slate of tournament rewards! Here’s a peek at some of ‘em:

Rocket Pass Premium

Rollerblading down the street. That awkward goth phase. Dippin’ nuggies without a worry in the world. Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium is a road trip through your deepest but most cherished memories! Crank up that analog stereo and joyride through the Premium Tiers.

Some cars never stop looking good, and Pontiac Firebird is a perfect example. This timeless American automotive legend will be unlocked automatically when you purchase Season 20’s Rocket Pass Premium! And get in, we’re late for soccar practice. Chevrolet Astro is also in Rocket Pass Premium!

NOTE: Pontiac Firebird uses the Breakout hitbox, and Chevrolet Astro uses the Merc hitbox.

Someone call security, people are driving crazy in Boostfield Mall! Get things back in order with the Mall Cop (Pontiac Firebird) and Mall Cop (Chevrolet Astro) Decals. A classic fixture of the mall is the arcade. Show you’re a veteran at blocking a ball with the Pinball Wheels

Soccar can sure work up an appetite. Take your food court order to-go with the Corn Dog Antenna and Nuggy Goal Explosion! If that’s the flavor blast you needed, go for a color blast next with the Color Rush Boost. All that color make you shudder? Try the aforementioned Goth Trail instead.

Battle-Cars and retro game consoles have one thing in common: they both run on blast processing. A certain chili dog loving speedster is runnin’ fast in the Rocket Pass, with rewards including the Sonic Sidescroller Player Banner and Sonic Looper Wheels! Look out for even more Sonic the Hedgehog later in Season 20 — this’ll be here before you know it.

If you still got the retro gaming itch, celebrate your goal with pixelin’ slitherin’ by having the Snake Score Goal Explosion equipped!

All the rewards mentioned above are just SOME of what’s in the Season 20 Rocket Pass, which has 70 Tiers of rewards across free and Premium.

There’s not long to go until the Rocket League World Championship begins September 10, but here’s something that’ll make those final few days of waiting zoom by — the return of Champions Road! This year’s Champions Road runs September 4 at 9 AM PT until the end of Season 19.

Join us in celebrating Rocket League’s biggest competition by taking part in everything Champions Road 2025 has to offer. Get some serious airtime by hopping into the new Limited Time Mode Jump Jam, complete Challenges to unlock rewards worthy of a champion like the Superstar Wheels and Champ Helix Trail, plus earn double XP from Online Matches!

To the champ go the Challenge rewards… and then some. In the spirit of competition, learn about Rocket League Season 19’s Competitive Rewards! These will be granted when the next Season of Rocket League begins. As for now, Part 3 of Season 19 reaches its thrilling conclusion with Champions Road and the Rocket League World Championship ⚽🚗

New LTM: Head High in Jump Jam!

Imagine soccar, but with a lot (and we mean a lot) more jumping. Jump Jam is a new 3v3 LTM that takes the core Rocket League mode you know and love to the skies by giving all players unlimited jumps and dodges. It’ll be available until Champs Road ends, so be sure to leap in before it springs out of rotation!

Challenge Rewards of Champions

Every champion has had to overcome obstacles on their journey to the top, so it’s only fitting that Champions Road has a few Challenges of its own. Specifically, there are 13 this year — nine of which reward new items for your Garage!

Show you’re ready for game time, all the time. Score at least 200 points in 10 Online Matches and you’ll unlock the regal Game Time Wheels. But sometimes all you need is a simple stripe to look spectacular. Get that champion-level elegance with the Splitacular Decal, unlocked by winning 3 Online Matches in a row.

You know what screams superstar? Rollin’ with the stars! If you’ve got what it takes to accrue 4000 total points in Online Matches, you’ll unlock the Superstar Wheels. And if you want to be such a big star that you’re a household name in the Wild West, there’s also the Champ Hat Topper unlockable by getting 50 clears or centers in Online Matches!

These are just some of the items up for grabs. If you’re looking to turbo-charge your Rocket Pass progress, there are two one-time Challenges and two repeatable Challenges that award a Level Up! And don’t forget, all Online Matches during Champions Road give double XP. If this seems a lot like Season Rush, that’s because Champions Road is also the Season Rush for Season 19.

Revealing Season 19’s Competitive Rewards!

In Rocket League, it’s competitive season all year ‘round. As with previous Seasons, your highest rank in Season 19 will determine which Competitive Rewards you’ll unlock when the next Season begins. In this case, that’s September 17!

Season 19’s Competitive Rewards include S19 Decals. There are eight varieties, one for each rank tier, meaning you’ll need to reach Supersonic Legend if you wanna unlock ‘em all! For extra encouragement, those who hit Grand Champion or Supersonic Legend will also earn some special Titles.

Season 19 Competitive Rewards
Main Rewards
  • Bronze in any Competitive Playlist: S19 - Bronze Decal

Win ten matches at any rank tier (Bronze, Silver, etc.), and you’ll become eligible for its Competitive Rewards — even if you’ve dropped to a lower rank tier by the Season’s end.

Turn the ignition, start the competition. Celebrate the Rocket League World Championship with 2025’s Champions Road, starting now and ending September 17!

Version:
Rocket League v2.54

Platforms: Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo

Scheduled Release: July 29, 2025, at 4 PM PT / 11 PM UTC

THE HEADLINES
  • Private Match admin controls

  • Crossbar ping audio adjustments

  • Training Pack update

  • Stability update

NEW CONTENT

Private Match Admin Controls

  • Private match hosts will now have access to Match Admin functionality. This means they can pause the game, adjust the remaining time and score, and restart from kickoff when needed.

    • If the host leaves, Match Admin functionality will now automatically transfer to the next player in the lobby based on join order.

      • If the next player is playing in a party, admin controls will be given to the party leader instead.

CHANGES AND UPDATES

Crossbar Ping Audio Adjustments

  • We’ve adjusted the crossbar ping sound effect: harder impacts now sound more natural and have slightly reduced volume.

    • Softer impact sounds remain unchanged.

Training Pack Update

  • Each player will now see custom Training Pack recommendations based on their current rank.

    • Players will get pack recommendations weekly from our existing library of Training Packs to improve their game.

    • Because lists will be different for players of different ranks, players will see older dates on some packs as the recommendations will dig deep into the library.

Stability Update

  • We're aware of a client crash issue introduced in v2.53 related to an audio bug affecting some players. While the issue has been identified, a full fix was not ready in time for this update.

    • As a temporary workaround, players can change their PC audio output to "Headphones" or "Speakers" and this should alleviate the issue for most.

      • We’ll roll out a full fix in a future game update.

BUG FIXES

Loud Powerslide Audio

  • We fixed a loud audio bug that first appeared in v2.53 when powersliding. This issue was previously fixed on PC, but is now fixed across all platforms.

General

  • Fixed an issue when using the Recommended server option in a Private Match could result in a "wrong region" error.

  • Fixed occasional flickering on the Dominus Car Body when using the Hyper Color Decal at certain camera angles.

  • Fixed an issue where the Tribalistic Decal would remove trim color when applied to painted Octane Car Bodies.

  • Adjusted the Monstercat text on the Monstercat Decal to avoid text being cut off.

  • Fixed an issue where certain Decals, including Federation, NFL, and Esports Decals, were not displaying correctly.

  • Fixed an incorrect Club notification (“Club Role Changed: You are no longer a member of a Club”) when only the Club Title was updated.

  • Fixed an issue where players received outdated “Club Role Changed” notifications from a deactivated Club after joining a new one.

  • Fixed an issue where longer Club names overlapped with usernames in the Friends List menu.

  • Fixed an issue where some players got stuck at the title screen after pressing any button to start.

PlayStation

  • Addressed general crashing issues on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

  • Fixed an issue where friends would not appear or would incorrectly display as offline in the Rocket League friends list on PlayStation 4.

Xbox

  • Fixed a crash when loading into the Rocket League main menu on Xbox consoles.

  • Fixed a crash on Xbox that would sometimes occur after a match when interacting with the Garage or Item Shop.

Nintendo

  • Addressed rendering issues in the Utopia Colosseum (Gilded) Arena when playing on Nintendo Switch.

  • Addressed rendering issues in The Block Arena when playing on Nintendo Switch.

  • Fixed an issue preventing access to the Nintendo eShop via the Item Shop tab.

  • Fixed a crash on Nintendo Switch that would sometimes occur after completing a match and attempting to load into the next one.

Version
: Rocket League v2.53
Platforms: Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo
Scheduled Release: June 17, 2025 4 PM PT / 11 PM UTC

THE HEADLINES
  • Introducing the 10th Anniversary variant of DFH Stadium

  • Gameplay protection updates

  • Check out revamped Clubs!

  • New Challenge categories

NEW CONTENT

DFH Stadium (10th Anniversary) Arena

  • Celebrate 10 years of matches with the DFH Stadium (10th Anniversary) Arena variant! Featuring anniversary decorations, arena announcements, and a golden trophy over the pitch below, this Arena is live in Private Matches, Exhibition Matches, Competitive Matches, Free Play, Online Free Play, and the Main Menu.

CHANGES AND UPDATES

Gameplay Protection Updates

  • We’ve resolved the issue causing some cars to be invisible during matches.

    • We’ve also implemented measures that will catch any future attempts at this type of game manipulation, and kick these bad actors from matches before they join.

  • Update v2.53 also contains a fix for players who were using Titles they did not earn in-game.

    • We appreciate your continued support and feedback and we’ll continue to monitor and adjust our protection measures as needed.

Physics Adjustments

  • We’ve corrected differences in physics that arose in different CPU architectures. This means players may have less rubberbanding in matches.

    • This fix will be more noticeable for players with low ping.

Revamped Clubs (This is a big one!)

We’ve revamped Clubs to enhance your social experience in Rocket League. Join up with friends, create new Clubs, and enjoy these added features:

  • Clubs now on the Main Menu!

    • Players can now quickly access all things Clubs straight from the Main Menu.

  • Online Member Status

    • Shows when Club members are online using similar indicators to the Friends List.

    • Allows Club members to request to join the party of other members.

  • Introducing the Club Manager role

    • Club Managers have the same abilities as a Club Owner. Club Owners and Club Managers can invite players through the Recent Players menu.

      • This gives the community more outlets to join Clubs, expand their Clubs, and avoid complications if the Club Owner is not available.

  • Club Stats and Milestone Progression

    • Club Career Stats will keep track of Club statistics earned over the course of the Club’s lifetime.

    • Club Seasonal milestones will be tracked in the form of Club Medals, a new concept in Rocket League. Clubs accumulate Medals by making progress in three main categories: Goals, Saves, and Assists. Each one of these categories includes three Medal milestones in order of accomplishment: Prospect, Signature, and Premier.

      • Reaching a milestone rewards a Club the associated Medal. This Medal is displayed in the Club profile, viewable in the Club menu and within Club matches (against any opponent, not just other Clubs).

  • More on Medals

    • Medals will be shown publicly in the intro sequence of matches where all members of at least one team are in the same Club (these are called “Club matches”).

    • If a Club receives the highest-tier Medal (Premier Medal) in all three stat categories, their Club profile icon will have a special look visible in intro sequences and the Club menu.

    • While public Medals help Clubs show off their progress and prestige, they might deter Clubs who enjoy playing more non-competitively.

      • Club Owners and Managers will be able to toggle public Medals on or off within the Club Customization menu, to prevent their Medals from being shown in Club match intro sequences.

      • By default, Club Medals will be shown in the Club match intro sequence. Club Medals will always be viewable in the Club menu, regardless of toggle status.

  • General Club Stats and Milestone Rules:

    • Club milestones will reset every Season. This gives Clubs opportunities to improve Season over Season, as well as earn new Club Titles every Season.

    • Once a Club earns a Medal, Club members will receive a notification that the Medal has been earned.

      • The Medal will immediately be shown on the Club profile.

      • Additionally, members will receive a notification when the Club earns a Club Title.

    • Stats towards Medal milestones are only recorded during matches with more than one player on each team, including Club matches.

  • Club Titles

    • There are three earnable Club Titles based on Club Medal progression. New Titles are available per Season, and linked to the tier of the Medal (Prospect, Signature, Premier).

    • Clubs receive a Title once they’ve earned the same Medal tier in all three categories. For example, a Club would need to earn the Prospect Medal in Goals, Saves, AND Assists to get the “PROSPECT CLUB” Title for that Season.

  • Clubs will receive 12 Titles upon creation, without having earned any Medals:

    • SUPERSONIC ACROBATIC BATTLE CARS

    • AERIAL DEFENSE FORCE

    • RULE 1 FOLLOWERS

    • DEMO DEVILS

    • EGGCELSIOR

    • WE ARE ROCKET LEAGUE!

    • CHAMPIONS ELECT

    • BEST IN LEAGUE

    • CLUB OF THE MONTH

    • IN DA CLUB

    • PURE CLASS

    • BUILD DIFFERENT

    • ESTABLISHED 20XX (Club Title assigned to all Clubs by default)

  • Club FYIs

    • If a Club Owner deletes the Club, all stat progress is lost.

      • That includes Medal progression, general stat aggregates, and Titles earned.

      • The deletion confirmation box will show a message to members indicating that their Club progression will be lost.

    • If a Club Owner or Manager leaves, all progress will still remain with the Club.

      • Club Owners can not leave a Club unless they transfer Club ownership first.

      • If a Club Owner is the only member and decides to leave the Club - the Club will be deleted.

    • When a player joins a Club, they’ll immediately be able to make progress towards Club stats.

      • If coming from a previous Club, their progress will not transfer over to their current Club.

We’ve introduced new Challenge categories! Expect to see these in rotation throughout our Seasons and Limited Time Events in the future:
