Thank you for your patience while we were getting this update for Riven ready for Steam! Thanks too for your support of our games.

We have been working to ready all of the games in the Myst series for the 25th Anniversary of Myst, which happens later this month. Most of the games in the series required compatibility updates, but Myst and Riven needed more than that to run reliably on modern day computers. We partnered up with the ScummVM team and have worked closely with them to bring you this updated version of Riven. Since the game is powered by ScummVM, the user interface is a bit different than the original release, but has most all of the same functionality.

Should you have something you would like to report regarding Riven: The Sequel to Myst, please contact us directly at support@cyan.com. We would be happy to assist you.

We hope you enjoy playing Riven again :)

Thank you!
The Cyan Worlds Team

Fix for where Polish is showing a white screen before the credits play
Fix for where Spanish is hitting a crash on the first bad ending

Windows 10 compatibility update

Ability to Save game reliably

Random crashing fixed

Fix for an Esc key spamming issue

Fix for the light at the end of the tunnel - it now comes on ;)

Known Issues:

Saves from the previous Steam version will not carry over to this release, as our previous release was based on the original CD release, and not the later, higher quality DVD release that we are basing this version on. As the GoG release uses the same assets, saves from GoG will carry over to this Steam release.

As with Myst, the graphics have not been remastered, so there will be a variance in the quality of the appearance of the graphics depending on the size of the display being used. The game starts out in full-screen and can be put into a scalable window by using the Alt+Enter command. Being able to adjust the scaling of the window will help to improve the clarity of the graphics.
