We have just released a minor update for Richie's Plank Experience which includes the following:
- Updated Safety message text
- Updated EULA text
- Reduced HMD removal threshold from 5s to 1s to trigger safety message

• Turned on Santa Simulator bell in the elevator.
  
• Updated Santa simulator with shinier bell and shooting star VFX.
  
• Updated safety message. Now requires agreement from each user.
  
• Removed rope until we can figure out why it's glitching out.
  
• LIV sdk should be updated.
  
• Fixed bug where users sometimes don't have gravity when stepping off the plank.
  
• Removed ability for users to accidentally press the elevator buttons when standing outside the elevator.
  
• Change to skybrush particles.

Graphics

• Added subtle steam to the air conditioning vent near the plank. This is a small detail, but we think it's the little things that matter. This will help sell the feeling that there's working gravity in the experience.
  
• Added a DIGNITY billboard. A few months ago, during a team meeting, we decided that Dignity would be our company initiative. We believe the world will be a happier place if we all remember to use it.
  
• Reverted the post processing to a more realistic option in a previous update.

Bugs

• Fixed a bug where oculus headsets couldn't set the width of the plank.
  
• Fixed the low music volume

Richie's Plank Experience now has Hero Academy! This update includes all three game modes: Missile Defence, Rocket Race and Fire Fight.

Missile Defence: Protect the city from the falling missiles by punching them out of the sky.
Rocket Race: Use your rockets to fly as fast as you can through the hoops across the city.
Fire Fight: Grab your fire extinguisher and your rocket to fly through the city putting out fires as fast as you can.

We also worked hard on fixing some bugs and making improvements:
- Fixed cars glitching out bug when at the menu.
- Fixed santa score.
- Fixed umbrella bug.
- Fixed rocket bug when picking up from the plank
- Fixed VR menu settings bug.
- Fixed the bug where controller models don't load if Steam isn't already loaded.
- Improved fire effect.
- Improved water effect.
- Improved flying mechanic.

Today is the day we say goodbye to the Clowns. They’ve given us plenty of scares over the years and we wish them all the best as they move on to chase their dreams as kid party entertainers. Good luck Clowns!

In this update we have streamlined the Nightmare mode. It’s now more impactful allowing you to move through the experience at a better pace. Ultimately, this will make it easier for you to share with friends and family.

Other improvements include:

- A ton of bug-squashing, including better feet tracking,
- Graphical improvements to fires on Fire Deck,
- Graphical improvements to Santa Simulator,
- New caution sign in the elevator,
- Bug fix for falling through the floor on the way up the elevator.

For those active on our Discord server the new massive decal "gemini - the decal hunter" isn't a big surprise. They would know the effort gemini has put into engaging with the present and missing decals in Richie's Plank Experience.



To keep the decal hunting going, there are now 3 colorful eggs on surfaces in the city. It should be a fun challenge for all ages to try to find them. Once you get the 3 screenshots of the egg decals you can head to our Discord and share the time it took you with the community :)

tldr: decal hunting is a thing now - find the 3 egg decals or for a real challenge find as many number decals as possible.

Add the Umbrella to the end of the plank from the Desktop menu. (Press M on your keyboard)

Magic Umbrella soften your fall. If you pull and hold the trigger, you can fly around the city at a relaxing pace.

You may already be familiar with the old Santa Simulator bell inside the elevator in Richie's Plank Experience.



Well, it's been polished and improved in a night time sleigh ride. Santa Simulator is now published as a Stand alone experience for sale on Steam for $6.99.


Owners of Richie's Plank Experience on Steam receive it for free and should now see the new Santa Simulator in your Library.

We're happy to publish this update in time for Halloween party season. This update is purpose built for entertaining your guests.

You now have an option to add a special pumpkin to the end of the plank. Whatever you do, don't pick it up.

Update Rise and Falls!

tldr: the game should be stable now, if it isnt switch to pre-update. to use OculusSDK switch to oculussdk

As everyone has noticed we got some new exciting updates lately - it sure was a long list.

With that came a bunch of hidden bugs we found out about from your feedback and we did what we could to respond to those fast. As a result we not only fixed the bugs that were reported so far, but also added a new structure for backup options in case there are still some hidden bugs:

To change the game to one of the listed versions you can right click on the game in your library, click properties, go the the BETAS tab and select the beta from the dropdown menu. After you download it you will be able to play and you can always change the version you are running

Now under the Beta options there are few different builds:
- NONE - this is the default option running SteamVR
- OculusSDK - this version runs ONLY OculusSDK for everyone that prefers to run RPE using the OculusSDK
- pre-update - the last stable update, if you are running a big party and a bug appears you can roll back to this safe option
- retroversion - the version of the game before the big features and graphics update that happened in december
- beta - this is where new features will be pushed to before we set them live
