Capcom has seen record profits for the fourth year in a row.

Revenue for the financial year ending 31st March 2021 was 95.3bn yen (£622m), up 16.8 percent from the previous year, with profit of 34.6bn yen (£226m), up 51.6 percent from the previous fiscal year)

Capcom pointed to the success of Monster Hunter Rise and the Resident Evil 3 remake, as well as sales growth for high margin back catalogue titles including Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and the Resident Evil 2 remake. Capcom said the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S version of Devil May Cry 5 "also performed well". The boost to video game interest during lockdowns also helped.

Halloween may have been about four months ago but Gamesplanet is choosing to celebrate all things spooky once again for the start of its 15-year anniversary sale. It's the first of a handful of themed promotions that will be taking place throughout the year.

Modders have had their fun with Nemesis from the Resident Evil 3 remake - and Mr. X from the Resident Evil 2 remake before it - for quite some time. But as a Street Fighter fan this latest mod caught my eye.

Instead of the hulking monstrosity that is Nemesis, we have the hulking monstrosity that is Sagat, the original Street Fighter boss, the Emperor of Muay Thai, and in the world of Street Fighter, Ryu's very own nemesis.

The Resident Evil 3 remake Sagat mod, from Nexus Mods user sidemilu, does exactly what it says on the tin - and the plan is executed perfectly. Sagat, wearing his trademark eyepatch and with the scar Ryu gave him during that fateful battle front and centre on his chest, stalks poor Jill Valentine, who must be wondering which dimension she fell into.

The Resident Evil series has now collectively shipped over 100 million copies worldwide.

As computed by our pals at VG24/7, it was back at the end of March that Capcom confirmed that its hugely successful Monster Hunter franchise has shipped 63 million copies, the Street Fighter titles have shifted 44 million units, and the collective sales of its Resident Evil titles had topped 98 million as at 31st March, 2020, falling just short of the 100 million milestone.

Not any more, though. Citing the "continued sales growth" of the Resident Evil 2 remake - which has sold over 6.5 million units alone - and the recent success of Resident Evil 3, which has sold two million copies since its release last month, the series has now collectively surpassed 100 million shipped units.

Capcom has revealed it changed the way Nemesis works for the Resident Evil 3 remake in order for it to reference Resident Evil 4.
