Terms of Service Reminders
  • Editing local config files to change in-game appearance is against terms of service and bannable (uncapping FPS, limiting FPS, or changing font region are the only allowed changes)

Known Bugs
  • Ability tooltips may not have correct stats. This will be fixed in patch 7. If in doubt, check this document: {LINK REMOVED}
  • Dragon’s Peak and Captain’s Folly have known collision issues
  • The bridge between Crossing and Dragon’s Peak is not on the minimap

New Features
New 40-Player Map: Time Shattered Isle
  • This map has replaced the old map
  • The old map will be available intermittently through LTMs only
  • Unique new features and easter eggs through the map
New Queue: Competitive
  • This queue has no bots
  • The queue has a longer timer, so it may take up to 10 minutes to “pop” to ensure the lobbies are busy and competitive
Ancient Items
  • Ancient items have been added! These ultra rare and powerful items drop 0-2 times per map in ancient chests that take 10 seconds to open. They can also drop very rarely from Zeppelin Chests and Goblins.
Event System added to Battle Royale
  • The Event System has been added to the new map
  • The events have been tweaked to be BR specific.
  • Power of the Ancients: Drops two ancient and many zeppelin chests
  • Adrenaline Rush: Move 50% faster with 300% increased jump height
  • Giddy Up Buttercup: 40% faster mount speed
  • Big Bad Bounty: Team with top kills is highlighted for all teams. If they survive the timer, a zeppelin chest will spawn on each player of that team. If they are killed, a chest spawns on their body. Players killed during event will respawn if at least one player on the team survives.
  • Forge Fire Sale: 50% forge discount and faster forge speed
  • Deep Pockets: Killed players drop two shard packs instead of one

Quality of Life
  • Shard economy adjusted for new map size and loot density. Kills from 50 shards->80 shards, and items from 5/10/20/40 to 3/6/15/30
  • Forge times reduced by 5 seconds
  • Killing players will drop a chicken nugget that can be picked up to heal armor and health
  • Dev Note: This is to help teams that win engagements then get third partied before being able to heal
  • Number of players required to start a custom game lowered from 12 to 6
  • Realm Wars mercy rule changed from 30 to 20
  • Realm Wars spawn protection duration from 7s to 10s and shield from 2000 to 2500

  • This event has a 50% chance to “proc” if a team is down by 15 or more points.

New Game Mode: Realm Wars
Realm Wars (Team Deathmatch) has been added to the NEW MAP: Primal Island! This mode is a chaotic 10v10 deathmatch that lasts up to 15 minutes per round. Drop, loot, forge, then fight it out! Before and after: https://streamable.com/ig6woi


Tips to get you started:
  • The team with the most kills at 15 minutes will win (the right side of the screen shows your team's kills in blue, and enemy teams kills in red)
    • If a team is up by 40 kills or more after 5 minutes, then it will end early
  • You will passively gain 20 shards every 5 seconds. Use these to forge between respawns and upgrade your loot.
  • Forge times have been drastically reduced to 1 second.
  • Armor is always forged at legendary levels.
  • Events will randomly happen throughout the match, be ready for anything when you hear the foghorn!

  • Chests fixed to be multi-lootable again (single lootable was a bug / never intended)

Weapon 1: Shock Rifle - The 6-ammo shock rifle is a heavy hitting, slower projectile perfect accuracy weapon.
  • Primary fire: Damage 450/600/700 hard hitting perfect accuracy lightning gun
  • Secondary ADS Fire: 650/750/850 slower speed and fire rate lightning orb that explodes when it hits an enemy with an additional 98 AoE shock damage.
Weapon 2: Grenade Launcher - The 6-ammo grenade launcher is a swiss army tool of damage and healing.
  • Primary fire: Explosive grenade dealing 400/500/650 damage
  • Secondary ADS Fire: Healing grenade explodes healing for 100/150/150 in AoE
Ability: Healing Turret - Throws healing orbs that heal for 125/150/200/250 per shot
Ability: Turret - Fast firing turret that deals 75/90/100/125 damage per shot
Ability: Fire Grenade - Throw a grenade that explodes in a pool of fire dealing 960/1280/1600/1920 damage over 6s

Mastery System Update

Each Class now has a progress track based on experience gained while playing matches with them. Along the way you'll earn prizes, with the very end being a mastery skin, to show off how awesome you are. We also made it so that all your previous progress with these classes was transferred over to the new track, and once you play through a match with each of them, you'll be given the prizes you would have earned had you started from Level 0.

New Warrior Class Weapon - Javelin

This mid to long range weapon is a charged throw which does more damage based on the time charged and the distance traveled
  • Base Damage: 620/830/960
  • Range based damage increase: Begins increasing in damage after 30m, and reaches the maximum 50% increase at 140m. Damage bonus curve is exponential to minimize the increase in shorter range fights.
  • Projectile Speed: 900
  • Full Draw Time: 1.2s

Below are the hotfix notes along with some thoughts to go along with it!

Goblin

  • Decreased Movement speed by 12%
  • Decreased Health by 15%

Dev note: Players were communicating that Goblins were too much of a chore to hunt down. We lowered the speed and health to make it a bit easier for players to get their hands on their loot.

Auto Sniper

  • The Common version of this item has been removed from your first pull out of a chest
  • Increased Damage from 560/640/720/800 ➡️ 580/660/740/820
  • Decreased Refire rate from 1.2 ➡️ 1.1

Dev Note: Players were getting frustrated with getting the auto sniper out of their first chest, making it a bit weird to engage with on drop.

Abilities

Lightfoot Potion

  • Decreased Pre fire from .2s ➡️ .1s
  • Increased Effect radius from 27.5 ➡️ 40
  • Changed Cooldown from 22/21/20/19 ➡️ 23//22/20/18

Flask of Healing

Dev Note: We wanted to make the ability a bit easier to hit with, and this should hopefully help with the no-reg issues these abilities have. Make sure you double tap the ability if you want it to self-activate!

Concussion Grenade

  • Increased cooldown from 13/12/11/9 ➡️ 13.5/12.5/11.5/9.5

Hello everyone and welcome (bok) to Realm Royale Reforged!

Over the past few months a small internal team of passionate developers here at Hi-Rez took on the task to reforge the Realm, bringing back mechanics from Realm Royale’s earlier stages that players loved, while building upon the improvements and features that players are familiar with today.

A lot has changed and we’re so excited for you to dive back in.

Let’s get to it!

Armor is back!

The Runes system has been removed and replaced with Armor. There are four different pieces of Armor that can be looted, equipped, and upgraded throughout the course of a game, each granting a different buff/bonus.

Helm: Increased Cooldown reduction
Breastplate: Additional Armor P5/Health P5
Gauntlets: Increased Reload and Weapon Swap speed
Greaves: Increased Movement speed and Mount speed

Class locking is back!

Mages are flinging fireballs, and Warriors are getting Enraged! Class weapons and abilities are now locked behind Classes but….You now have more flexibility in how you play your class!

Class abilities are now separated into two types - Movement abilities and Combat abilities.

Movement Abilities

These never change, and you can not drop these from your inventory. Only upgrading or finding better rarities will increase the power of these abilities.

Warrior
  • Heroic Leap
    • Leap an incredible height and distance

Hunter
  • NEW - Grapple Hook
    • Throw a grapple hook to sling yourself through the air

Mage
  • Soar
    • Fly through the air

Assassin
  • Blink
    • Teleport forward a short distance

Combat Abilities

These are the Combat Abilities you know and love… plus a few new ones! The twist is that you can now use Combat Abilities in either slot! Want to use Charge and Enrage? GO AHEAD! Dodge Roll and Proximity Trap? Get at it!

Developer’s Note
The equip process has gone through a revision (for players that played Realm Royale in its earlier stages, you will instantly recognize this system), for current players, you might find your muscle memory getting in the way but hopefully, you find the transition smooth enough.

When your ability slots are full and you want to change to a new ability on the ground, you must first “stage” the ability and then hit the corresponding ability button for the slot itself.

Class Weapons can only be wielded by their respective Class. Starting out, each Class will have two Weapons in Realm Royale Reforged. We plan to build out and add more Class Weapons in the future so stay tuned!

Developer’s note
The Warrior currently wields the Long Sword and Throwing Axe, and while the Long Sword is a ton of fun, we recognize that it’s not really competitively viable in its current state. We have some fun Warrior weapons ideas in the works, so keep an eye out.

Universal Abilities and Weapons are still in Realm Royale Reforged. Anyone can use these, and these Abilities fall under “Combat Abilities.”

    • Cast a blazing damaging fireball at your enemy

New Weapons

Universal Weapon
  • Auto Sniper Rifle
    • A long range semi Auto Sniper Rifle capable of scoping.

Class Weapons
  • Mage - Fire Staff
    • Hurls fireballs at your target dealing aoe damage.
  • Mage - Ice Staff
    • Shoots Icicle projectiles dealing damage and slowing your target by 20%

Class Chests

Class Chests are a new type of Chest found throughout the Realm that can be looted for Class specific Weapons and Abilities, as well as Armor. In terms of Loot rarity found in these Chests, most of the time they’ll drop Rare loot, but there’s a small chance to find Epic gear in these Chests.

These Chests are available to loot as soon as you drop into Realm Royale Reforged, allowing players to immediately start leaning into what’s unique to their Class and gameplay style.

Circle Zone Size Changes

We’ve made some changes to how Circle Zones work to help bring back the feeling of “Battle” that comes with the Battle Royale genre.

There will now be a Circle Zone designated as soon as you load into a game of Realm Royale Reforged. Having a smaller portion of the map to play with from the beginning will result in less downtime at the beginning of a match and will bring on those fun and tense moments that players love more quickly.

Developer’s note
The new circle zone sizes will be more noticeable if the Point of Interest for the final circle is closer to the edge. This is calculated before the game starts. If the Point of Interest starts in the center, the red zone outline will be barely visible on the map at the start.

Game Mode Queue Changes

Initially, our only Normal Matchmaking Queues will be Solos and Trios, and Duos and Squads will be unavailable at launch.

While we understand the frustration in losing what could be your favorite game mode (Squads or Duos), we believe this direction is healthiest for the game and it comes with these added benefits for players:

  • More players per match - 60 players plus NPCs
  • Better balanced gameplay that tracks with what the competitive scene is participating in
  • LTMs that don’t interrupt the normal matchmaking queues. Currently, we have to disable a queue if we want to turn on an LTM, which is not ideal.

Additional notes and details on Realm Royale Reforged

  • The Talent system has been removed. We know that players enjoy customizing their class outside of the game and our team is looking at ways to bring that back in an exciting way. Check back for updates on this soon!
  • The loadout system will remain in Realm Royale Reforged! Players can use the loadout section to guarantee their class weapon and abilities from their class forge in-game
  • Legendary weapons may only be forged, taken from goblins, or found in Zeppelin Chests.
  • Many Abilities have been re-tuned and given additional effects.
  • You can find the stats of all weapons, cooldowns, and armor here!

  • Crafting a weapon/ability can craft a lower rarity than equipped
  • Firing the grapple hook and shooting has a chance to dryfire the grapple hook causing it to go on cooldown but not be activated.
  • Sounds of enemies may be lower than intended.
  • The longbow will sometimes shoot a wayward arrow in a direction you are not aiming.
  • Players can drop into an invisible wall north of North Port, causing them to be forced into the water.
  • Multiple conditions can cause a player to get locked into the incorrect animation, such as T-posing, lying flat in the ground, or standing inside their mount. To avoid getting the permanent crouch bug, avoid landing on your teammates for the time being.
  • Fortification does not shield the player fully from the front and some actions can be taken without canceling the shield.
  • The Tutorial has been temporarily disabled

Overview
New Year, New Realm Royale Update! OB23 is coming in February, and with it comes exciting changes and new content! The Fallen Bundle features the all-new Fallen Assassin, Corrupted Crimson Mount, and Lil Devil Chicken! Striking fear into the hearts of your enemies has never looked so good!

Don’t have enough Crowns to afford the Fallen Bundle? Never fear, daily quests will now grant free Crowns when you complete them! Along with daily rewards, earn even more Crowns just for playing Realm Royale, which can be spent on a variety of content in the new rotating shop!

Limited Time Events have arrived in the Realm, offering new ways to play Realm Royale every week! Challenging new game modes will include restricted weapons and talents, as well as changes to how and where the circle will appear. Dive in to a new game mode every week to prove that you can earn a Crown Royale under any condition!

Limited Timed Events
  • A rotating event that mixes and Matches various rules to create entirely new ways to play Realm every week.
  • Some events can focus the circle on specific parts of the map to create a more focused play experience or even move around the map in strange ways
  • Events have the ability to limit weapons or abilities to a specific type, giving players a more even playing field or encourage an unusual play style
Forge Upgrading:
  • The Forge has TABS! Players can switch between Class Abilities, Neutral Abilities, and the Upgrade tab!
  • Every player gets to upgrade one item per forge
  • Common and Rare items upgrade to Epic and Epic items upgrade to Legendary
  • The Shard cap has been increased from 200 > 300
Two New Abilities:
  • Fortification
    • A magical shield that blocks incoming damage - the player can’t fire or use other abilities while Fortification is active.

    • Knock enemies into the air and then pull them back down to the ground with Ground Shock.

Realm Royale Reforged - HeroicLeapJNash
Overview
The OB22: BokOps update is coming in October! Dive into the new BokOps Battle Pass, featuring 50 levels of futuristic military content. Storm the Realm with the One Man Army Warrior, or take a stealthier approach as the Infiltrator Assassin. Plus: with Chickens like the Cluckmando and mounts like F.I.D.O., this Battle Pass has everything you need to claim victory.

Leap into action with the third ability slot! Players can now hold an Offensive, Support, and Movement ability at the same time, opening up new combinations to take into battle. The Forge will now offer the ability to create Class-specific or Neutral abilities to accommodate for this exciting new feature.

Fungal Jungle is also getting a rework this update, taking the point of interest to new heights. A network of bridges now connect the towering portobellos of Fungal Jungle, with a massive mushroom Forge in its center. Gain a vantage point and show you own the throne in the new Fungal Jungle.

Evolve your tactics with the OB22: BokOps update with the newly added Gyro support! We’ve only touched the surface of features packed into this update.

    • 50 levels of futuristic military cosmetics unlockable by playing Realm Royale

Ahead of the update’s release, we want to announce we’ll be introducing a big community request: A third ability slot! Abilities will now be categorized into three groups: Offensive, Support, and Movement.

September 6-8: Players will be able to selectively Forge Offensive and Support Abilities at the Forge. Since each Class only has one Offensive and two Support Abilities, when Forging either of these slots, the pool of Abilities will include neutral and other Class’ Abilities. Movement Ability Forging will still only provide Movement Abilities for your Class.

September 13-15: Players will be able to selectively Forge Class- and Neutral-Offhand Abilities at the Forge. This means you will be able to choose to craft one of your three Class-Offhand Abilities (similar to the existing Forge Ability feature), or craft one ability that is not tied to a specific Class (Barricade, Turret, etc). In this context, “offhand” refers to Abilities that are not Movement Abilities.
