When you click "Create Private Match" we'll spin up an private server, to join you'll need the lobby ID.

You'll need to note/type/copy your private lobby ID from the "Ready Up" screen and give it to your friends/scrimmage opponents.

A fully featured and easier to use system is coming soon, but you die hard try hard proto pros have been asking for this and you deserve it. The next tournament (Mid November) is going to have some serious prizes!

Also we know private is misspelled in this update, you try spelling at 3am with no coffee! ;) We'll get our English together soonTM...

Fixed a bug that caused a server to bug out, and did some optimization passes on orbital & championship arena. More optimizations are incoming. A big part of optimizations will be the NEW CHARACTERS THAT ARE ON THE WAY.

We've got some updates and surprises coming this month, so stay tuned, join the discord, and take it easy (except in the arena of course).

Couple things... that button that USED to be Quick Play? It's now TUTORIAL!

We have a new Tutorial (just the basics, more to come), please check it out and give us your feedback! (It is still a WIP). PLEASE DO THE TUTORIAL BEFORE REVIEWING THE GAME PLEASE! ;)

We moved EU servers to Frankfurt, this is the most central EU server we can choose. Let us know if there are any issues.

WE'RE NOW IN JAPAN! Tokyo Servers are LIVE! Protoball ichiban! kombawa!

Orbital map got another optimization pass! Please let us know if it's running better on laptops and older machines.

Removed OT for now, enjoy trying to score that last second buzzer beater!

  • Changed how point zones works (thanks Sarg, su3zo, jaar et al) - now based purely on ball's travel distance. This enables some curve shots to be worth more points.
  • Can now freely look around and change ball cam during spawn count-down.
  • Fixed the spawning in-between rounds issues where you bounced a little (thanks unknown)
  • Updated and normalized some crowd sounds, added goal saved sounds
  • Fixed practice character being able to double shoot(thanks Bill)

  • Removed all camera shake!
  • Altered spawn points in Championship Arena, kick off will be different now.
  • Added default/preferred Spin Speed for curve shots (Default now medium).
  • Ball Trail made longer to help with tracking.
  • Ball Cam no longer let's you move your mouse/cause a jittery shake.
  • Changed "Ball Cam" to Hold R (or Look At Ball key bind).
  • Added Ball Cam "default view" setting in options.
  • Tweaked Grinds and added another rail to Orbital.
  • Updated in-store Bundle icons to show what they are.
  • Added a new free male suit (Ensemble) to match Elska's NUBS (New User Bio Suit).
  • Fixed a bug that didn't let you shoot your shield (keep your eyes out for this one please).
  • Adjusted shields hitting each other while two players were going at it (Thanks Sarg & Jesse).
  • Optimized Orbital arena (Please let us know if it runs better!).

The help has been amazing! Thanks everyone. Tonight's late night update features :

  • Optimized Orbital arena (Please let us know if it runs better!)
  • Mirrored Championship Arena's stands so it's symmetrical. Jupiter still watches over the home team.
  • Changed "Ball Cam" to Hold R. You can Tap R once to look at the ball, and hold R to go into full Ball Cam mode.
  • Update ball cam tracking methods. If you're new to the game this will help you keep pace!
  • Fixed Triple Jump, before if you dashed off the ground or fell off of a platform it would count this as a jump (Unreal Engine Default Jump Functionality), we changed the engine to give us control of this.
  • Powerup HUD no longer shows in Lobby
  • Changed how jumps reset, should now reset anytime you are considered grounded
  • Changed Join in progress one more time to a more seamless flow.
  • Changed Join from Spectator, after you choose your team you will be spawned in after the next point is scored, if server happens to be empty you will spawn in right away.
  • Added two more variants to the "CyberSuit" Ensemble. (Many more outfits on the way)
  • Removed Dodgeball from Map Vote - let's focus on sport mode during the pre-season.
  • Moved Chat widget to the top left corner, made it fade away after 15 seconds, and user experience should be smoother.
  • Added "Grab" cool down indicator. You'll see it.
  • AFK kick no longer kicks spectators. You will be kicked from the lobby screen if the timer ends and you haven't readied up.

We changed the servers to 60 tick! Everything is crazy smooth now, and some of the old physics you're used to (Curves?) Are going to be a little different than they were before! Now Slow, Med, and Fast spins are all viable options for different trick shots!

Please let us know if anything is super weird with the physics, or if you think the 60 tick is affecting the game in some other way. Please disclose bugs and other issues in our discord! This is the preferred venue for bug reports! http://discord.gg/protoball

YOU WILL NEED TO RE-SET YOUR BINDINGS! (Sorry for the hassle)

  • Limiting servers to 8 people maximum for now to encourage 4v4!
  • FIXED THE SHIELD BUG (Thank you MrXAmazing!) - Sometimes if you pulled out your shield, did not shoot it, and ran into an opponent you would no longer be able to shoot shields until a goal score respawned your character. Thanks to our awesome community in the discord.gg/protoball we found and squashed this one!
  • Removed the VFX Particles from the Ball Trail
  • Changed the Dodgeball Ball layout, and removed a couple balls from play.
  • Fixed the Chat Filter! We know it was annoying... the Chat Police AI Bot tasted that power and started trippin'... we reeled it in. We've seen the movies, we know what happens when AI gets out of control.
  • Temporary Changes to Powerup HUD - (bottom of screen) this will be refined throughout EA.
  • We moved Change TPP Camera to Left Alt, and Passing to C (not sure if we like this anymore)
