Project Xandata - S6.Brrrzy
Greetings Xandats,

Six months ago, we announced that Project Xandata's servers will sunset on May 31, 2023. In a few days, we will close the servers for good.

We've been busy these past months, but we want to take a moment to thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement throughout the years. We appreciate the time you spent with us, and we're grateful for those who stayed with us until the end. Your passion and dedication to the game have inspired us to do better and be better.

While this may be the end of Project Xandata, it's not the end for Secret 6. We remain committed to building our skills and creating more original games in the future. We hope you will continue to follow us on our social channels so you can stay updated on our future endeavors.

This isn't goodbye, but a heartfelt see you later. It has been a meaningful journey, and we hope you will continue to support us as we move on to our next ventures.

Thank you again for being a part of our community. Your support has meant so much to us, and we will always be grateful to have been able to share Project Xandata with all of you.

Project Xandata - S6.Brrrzy
Xandats, attention!

I know, it’s a terrible day for rain, isn’t it? I’m sure you’ve seen the announcement. If you haven’t, then to put it simply, Project Xandata will be ceasing active development as of today. While you can still hop in and play the game until May of 2023, no more new updates and events will be coming.

Just as Halloween has ended, fret not as we have one last treat for you. We’ll be implementing a new in-game currency that you can use to purchase store items. This new currency, called Dark Shards, can be gained simply by playing the game and completing matches, with wins giving you more shards. You can check out more ways to get these shards down below.

We’ve had things prepared for another season, but now that we’re reaching the end of the line, we want to make sure that you get a chance to enjoy everything we’ve put our heart and soul into making, from the flashiest weapon and armor skins to the best emotes and intros to style on your enemies. Up until the very end, we’ll make sure that you’ve got the style to match your skills without having to spend.

Again, for all these years you’ve spent with us, we thank you wholeheartedly. No words can express the amount of gratitude we have for you for sticking with us through thick and thin. All the lessons we’ve learned and trials we’ve faced and overcome, we wouldn’t have it any other way with any other community.

It has been our honor that you joined us in these proving grounds, and hope that you will join us in the next, wherever it may be. Once again, this has been everyone’s favorite, and I hope forever will be your favorite, Alliance of Nations spokesperson Millie, signing out!

Dark Shards System
With one last push, our cunning Xandata scientists have found a new resource that would introduce a power so great that it drew the attention of all the Alliance’s top brass: the power to primp your Xandat!

Dark Shards are a new in-game currency that you can acquire that would allow you to purchase that cosmetic you’ve been longing for but just didn’t have the opportunity to get. The best part about this is that you don’t need to spend anything! Simply log-in, play games to completion, and you’ll get them naturally. It’s as easy as breathing, if you ask me!

Like the old saying goes, “If you can’t perform, then at least improve your form!”

How to Earn
Dark Shards can be earned through various ways but mainly through playing the game:

  1. Match Rewards: Each match rewards a set amount of Dark Shards when completed. Wins rewards additional Dark Shards
  2. Challenge Rewards: Every time you complete a Daily or Weekly challenge, you are also rewarded with Dark Shards. Complete your dailies and weeklies people!
  3. Log in Reward: You may also log in everyday to additional Dark Shards to spend on those lovely cosmetics
  4. Level Up Rewards: Play games to level up your account. Each time you level up, an increasing amount of Dark Shards is given to you. The higher the level, the better the rewards!
Revamped Store

“NEW GUNS, NEW ARMORS! FRESH OFF THALTAN’S FINEST FORGES!”

What good is scoring that 30–or was it 60 now?--record kill streak if you don’t look good while doing it? We’ve got a brand new shipment of goods from all over Xandaigdig to make sure you’ve got your bling up to date. From the imposing style of the Thaltan Forges to the Xaedan Night Market’s flashiest fanfare, you’ll be up to style with the gallery of goods we’ll be delivering daily!

Store Rotation
  • Daily Dose of Drip: The Store refreshes daily so be sure to keep an eye out for new items and of course, that cool item that you want
  • RNGesus Bless: Each slot will showcase a randomized cosmetic, but we’ve ensure that each set will have anything from Uncommon to Legendary items available
    • Disclaimer: Randomization is based on an engine where it tries to draw a guaranteed Legendary at least once every day, then randomizes through the different rarities for the rest of the slots. However, there are still cases wherein lower rarity items will fill up the store, especially when you have purchased every item of higher rarity. Items you have purchased will be weighed less and will be less likely to be drawn unless, of course, you have forced the system to show it due to lack of other items.
  • Everything Must Go: The store will go through all available items so you will always have a chance to get that elusive cosmetic.

THE BIG BANG
As a special thank you to our loyal Xandats, we’ve included items in the Store rotation that are marked down at an incredibly low low price of… Z E R O. Yes, completely free. If you happen to be feeling lucky that day, you might spy an item on the store worth zero currency, which you can then “purchase” absolutely free.

Season’s Pass As Seasons Pass
Instead of a Prestige Pass, we’ve converted it to a leveling system that provides you increasing Dark Shard rewards the more you level up. The higher your level, the more shards you get, and the closer you are to getting that weapon skin you’ve been pining for.

Changed Challenges

New Challenges
We are including quite a number of new challenges for both Dailies and Weeklies! These new sets feature more specific challenges for players to do. Here’s a sneak peek of what you might find:

Daily
  1. Not Your Battery: Eliminate the Battery Carrier
  2. Fist to a Gunfight: Eliminate 3 enemies with a normal melee
  3. Break Time: Destroy an Obelisk in Corruption
Weekly
  1. Double Trouble: Get 10 Double Kill medals
  2. Lightning in a Bottle: Charge 5 batteries in Overcharge
  3. Introduce Yourself: Get the first Elimination of the Match 5 times
These aren’t the only new ones we’ve added so keep an eye out for more!

Additional Changes
  • Challenge Cha-Ching: Completing a Daily or Weekly will award you Dark Shards
  • Challenge Me More: Increased base amount of Weekly Challenges to 6 from 3
Project Xandata - S6.Brrrzy
Dear Xandats,

The past years have been momentous, thanks to your enthusiasm and overwhelming support. You all contributed to our small but lively community, helping us make Project Xandata a better game.

Project Xandata has evolved from a simple game concept that turned into a massive endeavor as the first major undertaking of Secret 6 in developing an original title. From only a handful of people in 2015, our team grew to over 60 talents who set out to create the first multiplayer FPS game made in the Philippines.

We have reached remarkable and humbling milestones such as our first debut at ESGS 2016, the awards we received from Level Up KL 2017 and Game Connection San Francisco 2018, our early access launch last March, and the release of Early Access Season 1 made fruitful by your support. We were also grateful to receive an Epic MegaGrant, which allowed us to apply even more improvements to the game.

However, there are also major obstacles that our team continues to face, which led us to a difficult decision. After careful consideration, we have decided to cease further development for Project Xandata.

This was brought about by several technical and business factors. Starting as an R&D project using Unreal Engine, issues rooted in our decisions when we were still learning have become detrimental to our current development. These created major obstacles for us in building and designing new features. Despite some successes during its launch, continued development of the game is no longer viable in the long run.

Moving forward, a smaller team will be assigned to deal with any remaining, or emerging, game-breaking bugs and maintain its stability, as we plan to keep Project Xandata servers open until May 31, 2023. During this time however, we will no longer be able to introduce updates and facilitate community events.

It truly is a difficult time for all of us – from all the work we’ve put into building the game to the time and effort you’ve all invested into it. We understand that many of you may have lingering questions or thoughts, and we will be keeping our lines open in our Discord server and social media should you want to reach out.

As for Secret 6, we will continue to stay committed to creating original games in the future. We are investing in training to refine the skills we need to maintain a live service game, and to create striking game environments which we hope to utilize in our future projects.

Again, our heartfelt gratitude goes out to you for making this game what it is today. Thank you for the time and effort you put into supporting the game throughout the years – from the game conventions, to its launch, and our weekly community events. We’re grateful to have been able to share Project Xandata with all of you. It has been a meaningful journey and we hope you will continue to support us as we move on to our next endeavors.

Of course, we won’t be letting any of the items we’ve prepared go to waste. The incoming patch will host a slew of changes that will give you the chance to enjoy all the things we’ve had up our sleeves. With changes to the Weekly Challenges, Shop, and Season Pass, you’ll be able to acquire the cosmetics without having to spend money. The game’s currency will now be replaced with Dark Shards, which you can earn by completing challenges and gaining XP. However, rest assured that you may still use your remaining X-Diamonds to purchase. Check it out when the patch goes live today at 4:30 PM GMT+8.

Until next time, Xandats!

- PXD Team

FAQs
Until when can we play Project Xandata?
Our servers will be open until May 31, 2023. However, starting November 3, we will no longer be introducing updates and only game-breaking bugs will be addressed.

What if I encounter bugs while playing Project Xandata?
Please report bugs through the Project Xandata Discord channel. The team will continue to address game-breaking issues.

Will Secret 6 make more games?
Yes! We learned so much in Project Xandata and we are still committed to creating more original titles.

What will happen to my X-Diamonds?
You may still use your X-Diamonds but you may no longer purchase more. The currency will now be Dark Shards which you can earn by completing challenges and gaining XP.

Ten-hut, Xandats!

Just a few days ago, we had a short server maintenance to tidy up and clean the systems. Now, we can finally tell you why! We’ll be implementing two new systems that would help you get games much faster, as well as allowing you to create custom games of your own where you can play with, or stomp, your friends! This took some infrastructure changes but it should hopefully get you more games on demand. On top of this, we’ve also implemented a little something-something to give our more xweatier xandats a bit of recognition for the time they put into playing the game.

Again, we thank you for your continued support of Project Xandata and hope that this update enables you to have more games, and even invite your friends to join in on the fun… or as target practice. We hope to see you again on the next update and in the proving grounds!

Dismissed!

AON Initiative
A new infrastructure has been added to our Matchmaking system! We’ll be using the new system in two ways:
AON Proving Grounds
Newer Xandats always have it tough, being matched against some of our more veteran players who show them no mercy, like “KaRt-DiLlEr2”, “LmZ”, and “panickedpotato.” This creates an environment wherein they feel like they get no room to learn the game and simply throw in the towel. But not anymore! New players will now be entered into a special queue, where they will be teamed up with other new players, or experienced players who can’t find other players to fight, and be pitted against a team of AON Recruits (Bots). This will continue until they’ve proven capable of handling themselves, or have had enough experience playing the game.
  • I’m Too Young To Get Owned - New Players will now be queued into the Player-versus-AI matchmaking queue if they have not yet met the criteria for going into the regular queues
  • Hurt Me Plenty - Once new players have finished a game with at least 0.8 KDA, or completed 3 Player-versus-AI games, they will then be allowed into the regular matchmaking queue against other players
AON Battlegrounds
Now, don’t think we’ve forgotten about our veterans. Sometimes, there’s just not enough xandats on-duty to make a fun match, and that downtime can be a bore. Well worry no more, because we’ve just been authorized to pit you up against the AON Recruits (Bots)! With the recent improvement to the recruits’ regiment, they should, hopefully, at least give you something fun to shoot at while waiting for other players to start the party.
  • Ultra Violence - If players who are no longer viable for the Player-versus-AI matches cannot find other players to match up against, they will temporarily be allowed into a Player-versus-AI match for one game after queuing for a set amount of time (3 minutes).
  • Nightmare - The matchmaking queue will prioritize the Party Leader’s queue type, so if you want to help a friend that’s new to the game, tell them to invite you so that you can show them the ropes
Disclaimer: Since the system has just been implemented, everyone will be entered into the Player-versus-AI match the first time they queue up in this patch. Once they’ve completed the game and met the above-listed criteria, they should then be able to enter the Player-versus-Player queues once again.

Custom Game Access
Ever wanted to set-up a private game with your friends so you could practice some flashy moves without worrying about your records? Or do you have a grudge against someone and want to finally prove who’s the better Xandat? Now you have the opportunity to do so with Custom Games! You’ll be able to set which map and game mode you want, as well as have up to 2 spectators with you! If you’ve been dreaming about making that flashy montage but never had the chance with regular games, then now’s your shot!
  • First Come, First Serve - Only up to 5 custom games can be active at a time globally. If all the slots are taken, you’ll need to wait for them to open up before you can make a game of your own.
  • No POTATOS Allowed - AON Recruits (Bots) are not present in custom games
  • Are You Not Entertained?! - Up to 2 spectators can be present in a custom game
Available Maps
  • Aruum Station
  • Site Agalon
  • High Suludlan
  • Sundown Forge
  • Fastlane
Available Modes
  • Skirmish
  • Corruption
  • Overcharge
  • Free-for-All
Leaderboards
Now here’s something I know a lot of you have been waiting for! The Leaderboards are now up and functional so that we can give props to those who’ve put in the time and effort into being the best, or the xweatiest, Xandat that they can be! We’ll be giving the spotlight to our top performing Xandats, and showing the world who to shoot at, or avoid, in the proving grounds. The rating is not only determined by whether you won or lost in a game, but also how well, or poorly, you performed, so just because you’re on the winning team, doesn’t mean you can just slack off! A Xandat Squad is only as good as its weakest link, so you better bring your A-game. Put on those tryhard pants and start climbing that ladder!

  • No Rest For The Wicked: Leaderboards refresh frequently, so make sure you check it out to see how you’re faring against the competition
  • No “I” In Team: Ratings are determined not just from Wins and Losses, but also with ingame performance. Your rating may drop even if you win a game but perform poorly, or you could get a rating boost even if you lose but do extremely well
  • Where Am “I” Then?: Clicking on your medal on the left side will bring you to the page of your ranking

Hey Xandats!

Time sure flies, doesn’t it? In one blink of an eye, it’s already October! We know it’s a little early for Trick or Treat, but we’ve got a couple of tricks and treats ready for you! New skills, nameplates, and various improvements to the Bots and Spawning system!

If you’ve been catching up on our Devlogs, then you’ve already had a sneak peek of some of the coming changes, but now you get to experience them in full! Read on to see what we’ve got in store and get ready to make your PXD Nights even hotter!

This has been Millie, everyone’s favorite AON spokesperson, and like always, we thank you for your support and hope to see you out there in the fields, Xandat!

New Neutral Skills
The time has come and so has the latest batch of new skills!

Neutral Marksman
Power - Hard Light Spinner
  • Yo? Yo! Boom!!: Throws a roaming spinner that roams around, chasing and leaping towards the first enemy it detects, exploding and dealing damage in the area.
  • Cheap, but effective: Bounces off walls and obstacles it collides against, enabling it to navigate into an area
  • Emphasis on Cheap: Can be destroyed by enemy fire

Neutral Agent
Utility - Caltrops
  • Lego Minefield: Throws down a circle of caltrops around you that slows and damages enemies who step on them.
    • Side note: We do not recommend stepping on Legos
  • Salt The Earth: The area the caltrops fall in expands and contracts based on if you are crouching or jumping
    • Armory Disclaimer: The Alliance of Nations armory cannot be held responsible for the massive amounts of salt by using this ability in Overcharge, especially when paired with other classes with Area Denial skills, nor do we condone dropping said caltrops within your Smoke Grenades.

Neutral Juggernaut
Power - Homing Missile
  • I See You: Fires a missile that tracks the closest enemy target, within a certain range, of your crosshair. If no valid target is present, it will instead fire the missile at a straight line.
  • There You Are: If the missile has not yet locked on to a target, it will then trigger proximity detection and home in on the next enemy that comes within its travel path
  • I Don’t Blame You: Can be destroyed by enemy fire

Elemental Nameplates
Some of you keen-eyed Xandats might have noticed a curious Juggernaut lurking about recently in our Discord server. Who is this masked enigma? As they say, everything will be revealed in time… AND THAT TIME IS NOW!

We’re releasing a new set of nameplates for each element, and they’re absolutely gorgeous! To get them, simply score a win while using the element of your choice, and you should receive it after the match. Like the other nameplates, you can upgrade them by accomplishing the tasks related to their skill sets while having them equipped. Show off your mastery and you can even get to unlock their grandest form and, who knows, maybe Ysabel might even pay you a compliment!

Alliance of Nation Recruits (Bot System)
The life of an AON Recruit is full of hardship. Rigorous training, a strict schedule, and multiple trips to the infirmary due to repeated Xandat abuse. Due to the latter, we’ve had to improve their training regiment, to hopefully provide them, and you, a better experience in the field. While they may still be potatoes at times, we’re hoping that every advancement is one step closer to turning them into the fries, or chips, of your dreams.

Keep on your toes, however, as we’re still preparing a few more surprises, and who knows? Maybe soon you’ll find that one recruit that can land the crucial potshot on you.
Improvements
  • More Firing Range Practice: Improved AI accuracy and lethality
    • While we made sure they won’t headshot you from 200 meters out, they can still prove a challenge if you underestimate them
    • Previously, the bots prioritized running away should their health drop too low, but will now chase you down should you be on the back foot

Overcharge Spawning
Overcharge has proven to be one of Project Xandata’s most thrilling modes. The exhilaration of breaking the defenders’ lines and stealing their battery, or the rush of adrenaline as you make that mad dash to dock or defend your battery.

We have, however, noted its shortcomings, especially with how fallen players are respawned. Too often would you respawn too far and too late to try and make one last push, or just be a smidge too late to stop them from stealing your battery all because you spawned in a far corner in the map. This has always been a pace-breaker and detrimental to either say, and we say that needs to change now!

We’ve checked up on all the respawn mapping systems for the Overcharge game mode and put a polish on them, as well as some percussive maintenance, to ensure that the attackers always have a chance, and that the defenders will never have too easy of a time.

Disclaimer: While we aimed to fix some of the respawn pain points, there can still be some edge cases where you get unfavorable spawns, especially when factors like enemy and ally placing, map movement, and battery location force you into those locations. We hope, however, to decrease the times these occur to ensure the game’s pace remains ever fun and fast for both sides.

The Rundown
  • Xandats Together, Strong: Spawn Points near allies will now be prioritized when respawning you
  • EXCUSE ME I WAS RESPAWNING: Added proximity detection to prevent enemies from spawning on or near the same spot as you
  • Let’s Try That Again: Increased the chances to use a more middle-ground spawn point for attackers, allowing them to get back into the fight faster. This should also help keep defenders from spawning too near to their battery, creating an infinite backup situation
Project Xandata - S6.Brrrzy
