Nidhogg 2 - mark
We've added two Nidhogg 2 levels for the first time on Steam-- “Train” and “Office”. Relive the daily commute, complete with demonic meat locomotive. Once at the office enjoy the freedom of our open concept floorplan modeled after the real Messhof office in Venice California where play is work. Our basement level houses our most talented developers working on our most experimental skunkworks projects. You might even unlock a costume or three if you play online.

Matchmaking update: We reorganized the matchmaking system so that players will have a better chance at finding a match. There is no more ranked toggle-- all online games found through matchmaking are now ranked. Match settings have been locked to streamline the menu screens.

None of the matchmaking updates change the way “invite a friend” works, so that still behaves just like local multiplayer.

We’ve added a few new (cosmetic) costume pieces, which unlock as you play online games and against strangers. You can change your costume from the Online menu.

Longsword now blocks while walking
Low stance Dagger now blocks slides

We had a lot of fun showing off Nidhogg 2 at PAX West last week. It was great meeting fans and watching new players get into the game. We had a cozy corner booth as a part of the Indie MegaBooth which is a huge block of indie games on the main floor of the convention. We were selling some T-Shirts, Hats, and the game soundtrack on CD and Cassette tapes. You can get all of that stuff online now (even a pink vinyl) through our bandcamp page





Nidhogg 2 was secretly chosen to be the final round of the Omegathon We wanted to do something special for the competition, so we made a PAX/Seattle themed level called "PAX Place" (like Pikes place.... get it??) complete with dead fish, a gum wall, lots of coffee paraphernalia, and a space needle in distress.


The competition was held at Benaroya Hall, normally the venue for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. It was a packed house and the first round went to sudden death... only I somehow forgot to add the sudden death screen! Who would have thought that competitions could go to sudden death. This has to be an eSports first ːwormheadː Luckily that was the only oversight in the build so the rest of the competition took place on other levels.


We've updated the Steam build, so now you too can do battle in PAX Place! We even have our Nidhogg booth in there, so if you couldn't make the con, you can visit it in ~VIRTUAL (2d) REALITY~

We plan to add content like this regularly. Still figuring out a firm schedule, but once a month seems likely! Don't forget to join our official Discord server
