NOISZ's second story DLC (the first one in *checks notes* four years!) is here! Take a trip back in time and discover how it all began in Episode G.

This short campaign features 6 new songs and the all-new Proto Style, a wild new twist on NOISZ's gameplay which can also be used outside of the epG content.

It's been a while, hasn't it...? For NOISZ's 5th anniversary, we've rebuilt the game in GMS2! It's hard to convey just how much effort has gone into this undertaking, so we'll just focus on what that means for everyone else...

In most cases, you can expect substantial performance gains relative to older versions of the game! It's also made it possible to bring back the Mac version, along with a certain other heavily-anticipated port which... isn't quite ready yet for the occasion, but it's coming soon!

Please note that the revamped first-boot sequence (normally shown to new players) will appear for everyone once, so your data is safe!

The demo has also been updated, so prospective players will experience the same changes.

In any case, thank you all for playing NOISZ! I'd say something like "here's to 5 more years", but we're looking to bring the series to its finale soonish. Please look forward to an epic conclusion instead...!?

NOISZ reV2.3 has been released, bringing a number of new accessibility and QoL features, as well as a rewrite of the game's original campaign, NOISZ Ignition!

Updated Story
NOISZ Ignition features tighter writing and connects more seamlessly to its successors, re:||VERSE and STΔRLIVHT. It's an improved experience for newcomers, and worth discovering all over again for veterans!

New Accessibility Functions
Two new assist features have been added: Super Easy mode grants complete invincibility throughout the entire story campaign, while Route Assist automatically selects all dialogue choices which have a significant impact on the story, guaranteeing you the ending of your choice (if your rhythm bullet hell skills are up to the task, at least).

These features will help players struggling with the bullet hell and VN aspects of the game, respectively; Dancer Style, which has been in the game from its initial release, is an assist feature for its rhythm element. Choose to engage with the parts of NOISZ that appeal to you! You can even turn on all three, kick back, and just enjoy the story.

Speedrun Challenges
Another special Story Mode variant Luna Rush has been added, which is all about going fast! But also not dying! Each stage is timed, and to stop the clock, you'll want to reach Overflow as quickly as possible. But you'll permanently have Lunatic Module equipped, causing you to restart the Verse on taking damage! A wild new challenge for our mightiest veterans.

Base Game QoL Updates
Several features included with the re:||VERSE expansion have been backported to the base game! Notably, Style Lab is available, letting you customize your abilities before battle!

NOISZ re:||VERSE is now 1 year old! We're celebrating with a new update that brings full Japanese support, as well as some smaller fixes and balance changes. We'll be working to bring NOISZ to you in more languages in the future as well!

Another free VN, 2ECONDS TO STΔRLIVHT: My Heart's Reflection will release later this year, followed by our new main project NOISZ STΔRLIVHT in 2021!

NOISZ's performance update is now live, addressing start of stage and intermittent lag issues! This version should cover the most common performance problems players have experienced, and we hope it ensures a smooth experience for you.

If you encounter any new problems relating to the update, please let us know! You can use the "legacy" build (in the betas menu) to switch back to the previous version if needed.

In order to address performance issues that some players are experiencing, we've been working on some engine changes, and we need your help to determine whether we're on the right track. If you've encountered lag or stutters in the game (especially if it affects stage patterning), please try out this beta build and let us know if it improves performance for you!

Right-click NOISZ in your Steam library, hit "Properties", then select pftest as in the image below.



If you encounter any problems unique to this build, also let us know ASAP if you can.

We hope these changes will allow us to bring the proper NOISZ experience to all players!

With the re:||VERSE expansion completed, NOISZ is now a massive game boasting 34 total stages (a huge amount for any shmup) and a full-fledged VN story so big, it'd count as a novel by NaNoWriMo standards (around 53k words total).

We're reimagining NOISZ's gameplay for touchscreen, and starting a brand new standalone story. We've learned a lot in the process of creating our first independent work, and we're confident that we'll be able to use that experience to make STΔRLIVHT an even better game!
