Greetings everyone, I'm happy to share good news today - for soldiers on all platforms nonetheless!

The Update for Steam and Windows 8 is finally here; it's been deployed earlier today. Windows 10 will follow along shortly.
We're also preparing to launch the Hotfix for Android and iOS; expect partial deployment starting today and full propagation in the next couple of days.

What to expect:

- stability improvements and decrease in crashes
- implementation of a failsafe for crash at loading issues; this will help decrease the number of occurrences and help monitor the situation until we can provide a full fix.
- fixed non-ranked/squad battles matchmaking (this was a server-side fix which most of you have already noticed)
- proper MSA login & Xbox auto-login set to off; taking the opportunity here to remind everyone on Windows to connect the game to your Microsoft account to ensure proper progress saving.

Other ongoing investigations:

- the instability we've been facing on APA servers is, as previously mentioned, a company-wide issue, affecting multiple games. Unfortunately, we have no estimated time on a fix, as this has proved more widespread than initially estimated. Some small improvements have been made and investigations are still ongoing, so any extra information provided after this update goes out will be helpful.

That being said, get your weapons armed and ready, it's a brand new day on the battlefield!

Have you ever heard of Modern Combat: Future War?

No? I thought so. But what if I told you this game already exists?
What if I told you that it’s been hiding under a different name, right under your nose, and you could try it out … right NOW!

You guessed it, that game is … drumroll … Sniper Fury!

Ok, ok, it’s not MC6 as expected, sorry to disappoint! It started out as MC6 but it transformed into something of its own. The ‘secret recipe’ behind Sniper Fury is:

1. A solid foundation of “Modern Combat 5”
2. +casual
3. ++ futuristic setting (hence the working title)

In the end, the result was also

4. +sniper focused shooter
5. -realtime multiplayer

We know MC5 takes you through all kinds of states; from adrenaline pumping matches, “hide’n’seek 1v1s” all the way to “my teammates are n00bs”, “where !@#$ did that shot come from!?”ːsteamsaltyː
But if you sometimes feel the need for some plain old shooting, with less running around the map, we recommend taking Sniper Fury for a spin.
If you play it for a bit you can unlock the realtime PvP, 10 man deathmatch (complete with jetpacks and victory dances).

https://store.steampowered.com/app/591740/Sniper_Fury/

If it’s not for you, we’ll understand. Just leave a review telling everybody how MC5 is waaaaay better ;)

In these “stay at home” days we're glad to have a community like you, and we're glad to have our brothers in arms from Sniper Fury.

Until next time, #stayfrosty!

Xmas Freeze Event

A limited time event pitting the Red Santas against the blue Santas in a brutal snowball fight. Shoot enemies using the Snowball Launcher to freeze them in place. Break frozen enemies before they get unfrozen for extra points. Capture one of the 3(A,B,C) zones for a stream of score points every 10 seconds.

Win conditions:

1.Reach the score limit: The first team to reach the score limit(100) will be declared the winner. If the score limit is not reached and the game timer expires(7 minutes), the team with most points will be declared the winner.
2.Special Limit: All members of a team are in a frozen state at the same time causes the other team to be declared the winner.

Weapon

All players use the Snowball Launcher. This weapon launches snowballs that freeze players on impact. Snowballs have a travel time and are affected by gravity. Ammo capacity: 6 snowballs/cartridge.

Freeze and Unfreeze

Frozen players are immobilized (can’t move or shoot) until they are freed/shattered or respawned.
A teammate interacting with the frozen player will free the frozen player. Freeing teammates provides score points for the team. An enemy team player can shatter a frozen target (similar to melee assassination) to gain score points for the enemy player team. Shattered player respawn only with the Wave Respawn.

Zones

Similar to Zone Control mode, there are 3 zones on the Winter themed Construction Site map. Zones can be captured by standing in the designated radius. Each captured zone provides score points every 10 seconds for the team. There is no limit to how many times a zone can be captured/taken back. When a team gains control of a zone, all frozen players on that team are unfrozen.

Respawning

Frozen players can respawn under any of the following scenarios:

Capture Zone Respawn: All frozen players from one team will be "respawned on their freeze location if an ally captures a zone that was previously neutral or owned by the other team.
Wave Respawn: All frozen players from both teams will respawn, once every 30 seconds. This timer will respawn players for both teams at regular intervals regardless of the moment they died or were frozen.
Player Respawn: Frozen players can be unfrozen by other players via an interact button. The interactions vary depending if the player is a friend or a foe.

Zombie Event

Zombie event returns with a winter Holiday touch. Visit the snow stormed base and face the festive zombies led by the infamous evil snowman. Reaching the higher difficulty awards better packs! Running low on munition, you can now punch zombies in the face with a new melee attack available only in the Zombie Event! Don’t worry, this time, you can bring a friend along!
Take the spoils of the Purge in your favorite PVP modes with the new zombie themed masks and weapon skins, accessible in your loadout.

Weapon skins: MORT-X BOSK, SERING PLAG-9, SKL-RCC-45 RED 34, HAWK-1Z
Zombie masks: Scarred Look, Serious Business,Hit-andRun, Amazing.

Changes& Fixes

Zombie event

Boss behavior changed to shoot more and taunt less.
Boss now has a new attack. He now sometimes charges towards players, knocking them down if they are caught in his path.
Bossfight round timer increased by 30 seconds.
The KILLS count in the END screen will take into account the collateral kills you perform by destroying an Exploding Zombie.
The Zapper: Default Damage increased from 15 to 20.Change multiplier increased from 4 to 6.
MORTX: Damage increased from 5 to 8 per bullet.

Marauder accuracy has been reworked to better reflect the feedback of shooting two weapons in hip fire. Cross-hair size and behavior have been adjusted for a more inaccurate experience at mid to high range.

The Blight
Get ready for a brand new event that pits players in the role of zombie hunters against the zombie outbreak.
Set in an undisclosed location, the infested base contains vital intel, crucial in dealing with the “contained” outbreak. Go in, secure the data transfer and survive the worst the horde has to throw at you. Standard equipment has been re-purposed and supplemented with new gadgets and weapons in order to deal with the new threat. The zombies behavior and difficulty changes depending on the mission phase and number of zombie hunter on the map.

Mission Objectives

1st Phase Objective

Scout the base and defeat zombies to recover keycards required to activate the mainframe computer before the timer runs out. Once all the required cards have been collected, deliver them to the mainframe and prepare for Phase 2.
2nd Phase Objective

When the mainframe is activated, zombies will start to swarm in the base through all 3 access points and try to destroy it. Keep yourself and the mainframe functional until the transfer timer runs out. If successful, get ready for the boss showdown in Phase 3.

3rd Phase Objective

You now face the blight’s full on wrath! Led by a monstrous Gargantuan Zombie Boss, zombies swarm in to eliminate you. Take out the Boss to complete the mission.

The end? Push your luck

After defeating the Boss, you can choose to end the mission there and collect your reward, but the threat is far from neutralized. Choose to push your luck, and complete the objectives on a higher difficulty for better rewards. Should you fail at this point, there will be no reward.
Rewards consist of event specific packs of different quality, depending on the difficulty you have completed in order to earn them. These contain Blight Event weapon blueprints, gadgets & ammo.
Opening these packs is conditioned by a timer. You can choose to skip this timer with eagle credits.
You can hold up to 4 unopened packs at a time. Playing further will provide progress within the Blight pass, but will not award additional packs, until a packs slot becomes available.

Equip any of the 8 weapons at your disposal, along with grenades and utility gadgets tailored to dealing with scenarios in which your foes greatly outnumber you. New Class – Tracker
With an elusive background, most information is sketchy at best about this enigmatic character. Corroborated from recorded dying words of his targets, camera footage and death scenes analysis, he has been dubbed the Tracker, based on the skills, gear and tactics employed in combat situation. Having acquired and adapted the latest tech, The tracker employs classic hunting tactics on the modern battlefield. Using a specially designed headset, he is able to visualize footstep traces and place track his target via a marker. To keep the distance and angle of approach to his advantage, the tracker uses a mechanized companion, very similar in behavior and purpose to a hunting hound, which he refers to as DOC. In a party, the tracker offers efficient military support deployment and extensive scouting abilities in anticipating the location of the enemy targets.

TWIG Tier 5 AR
ETHER-L Tier 6 AR

DOC9
DOC9, the Tracker’s companion replaces the secondary weapon slot to complement the hunter playstyle. Each tier ads extra features and behaviors to the previous

Tier 1-basic model
Tier 2- gains extra body protection
Tier 3 adds limbs cover
Tier 4 augments Head component with Nose module. Tracked enemies get chased beyond the visual radius
Tier 5 enhances claws module further increases the number or hits required from enemies to disengage an attacking dog.
Tier 6 modifies ears further extends the engage range to targets within an Audio Radius(23m)
Tier 7 evolves the body armor to include Exo-Skeleton reinforcements
Tier Prestige Alpha Dog ads a tail sensor. The dog routinely stops and searches for targets within the tail pulse radius. The dog’s attack is now fatal if the victim fails to break free from the engagement.
Tier SMART Prestige Beta Dog tunes the aggressiveness module causing the dog to engage a second time if it’s not destroyed

Track OPS

Battle Royale

- Player limit increased to 70

Single Player Campaign
- Multiplayer matches started from the chapter screen no longer consume energy. Starting multiplayer matches from the main menu screen are now counted towards the Chapter progress

Balance Changes

Evil Eye Core:
Max Reveal Distance Rescale: Mark 1: 25m, Mark 2: 25m, Mark 3: 30m, Mark 4:30m, Mark 5: 35m
Mark 5 Duration Reduced from 5 seconds to 4.

Class Changes:

Marauder Class:
Following the extensive feedback on how strong the class is compared to others, we decided to touch on its survivability, due to the way it stacked with other damage reducing sources. The class is meant to thrive in intensive prolonged fights and scale on the back of repeated kills, but the passive survivability was indeed a bit high at spawn.
• Resilient Hunter Passive Skill:
Number of hits reduced: From 3 to 2 bullets blocked at Tier 1/ From 6 to 4 bullets blocked at Tier 2
Damage reduction scaled down: From 35% to 25% at Tier1/ From 35% to 30% at Tier 2.
• Blurry Vision Passive Skill
Damage reduction value reduced: From 10% to 5% at Tier 1/ From 15% to 8% at tier 2

Sapper Class:
Considering the versatility of placement for this particular turret, we understood from your feedback that it felt too strong in terms of damage output, while being hard to reach sometimes.

• Shotgun Turrets: ROF Decreased by ~30%
Kommander Class:
• Severance: Accuracy Nerfed → Shooting Cone Increased by ~10%.

Recon Class:
While Recon’s damage varies based on positioning, we noticed that most Recons opt for weapons from other classes when given the option, especially in terms of Prestige Tier.
Smart Prestige Tier WHISPERER: Min Damage Increased from 13 to 15. Max Damage Increased from 20 to 24.
Morph Class:
With the addition of a new class as well as feedback, we felt the Morph scaling factor was a bit too dependent on enemy classes, thus restricting certain playstyles/weapons for her.
• Powerups obtained via killing enemy players will now be random. [Previously it would depend on which weapon the enemy players has in hands]
• SMART Prestige Tier N.A.Z → Min Damage Increased from 18 to 21
• Prestige Tier RUIN → Min Damage Increased from 50 to 65R.Max Damage Increased from 65 to 80

Sniper Class:
Since we have repeatedly nerfed the No Scope playstyle on snipers in the past updates, a buff to quickscope kills felt required to compensate.
• Reduced Aim Down Sight transition duration.
New implementations:
• Added support for Steam Controller
• Players can now use mouse/keyboard and controller in parallel
• Deploy/Repair/Upgrade Turret is now mapped to the Y button
• Added the Sniper’s skill indicator for PC HUD

Bug fixes:
• Fixed various infrequent crashes in menus and during gameplay
• Fixed an issue that caused grenades to be unusable on controllers
• Fixed an issue where controller vibration will not stop on death
• Reduced controller sensitivity of RB/LB when changing loadout
• Fixed an issue in Chapter 5: Mission 4 where aiming is disabled if the game is interrupted
