Mist Hunter - 430Flox
Hey guys,

I know the community is tiny and most of you may not even care, but I've got a very important question for you.

When we took the game down we din't wipe the old scores. This is a big oversight on our side, because the scoring system has been changed a little bit and ideally we should've wiped it all before re-releasing the game. But there was so much stuff on our hands that we, honestly, forgot about it.

There are two possible solutions, but both aren't ideal. The first is to wipe all the leaderboards. Easy to do, but not very fair to those who have got medals and are at the top right now. Besides the number of players is so small that the leaderboards may stay empty.

The second one is to delete the abnormally (old scores) high scores that hold the number one position at several leaderboards. There is only a handful of those and can be easily deleted, but again it's not very fair to the players who had got those scores in the older versions.

I understand that in either case some of you may be upset. So, we'd like to know your thoughts on the matter and maybe you have better suggestions.

Hey!

Mist Hunter is finally out! Thank you all for your support and patience. We hope that you'll like this little game as much as we do.
Have fun and a great weekend,

Mist Hunter - 430Flox
First of all, we'd like to thank everyone for your support. It's been a rough time, and to be honest is still is, but your support helped us stay positive and focus on the work.

So, in the last two months we've made a lot of changes to the game. Firstly, there is only one mode left - the summoning. The game had been started with this mode and we felt that the core fun laid in these quick, frantic battles. That's why we concentrated our effort on it.

The mode was slightly re-imagined thematically, but in its core remained the same. We've added two more enemies to fill the empty niches, created 6 new arenas, made a quick tutorial that should help you get into the game's flow much easier. The waves and enemies were re-balanced. A ton of under the hood changes and optimization. We're also working on the post for the SW

Now to the main topic of this update. The new release date has been set on the 14th of February. Also to reflect all the changes and the missing mode we decided to price the game at 5.99$.

If you bought the game before and haven't requested a refund yet please, please, please do so before the 14th.
We do hope you'll like what we've made. And even though it's a much smaller game now, we believe it's gotten better.

Cheers,
Alex and Anton

We’ve been told by Valve that everyone who bought the game prior its removal is eligible to request a refund through the normal steam refund procedure, regardless of the play time.

We strongly encourage you to request a refund, as you won’t be able to play the game even if you decide to keep it. This is because the game will change its internal status to “unreleased”.

If you want to help with future testing or just want to through your ideas at us you can join our discord.

We also would like to thank you for your support and understanding. It does mean a great deal to us.

Cheers,

As you may have noticed the game is no longer available to buy.

Not the best way to end the year. And to be honest, our current mood is far below the ground zero, but we've made a tough decision to stop selling Mist Hunter and refund all the purchases.

The reason why we did it is simple the Nexus mode isn't fun in its current state.  It has some design issues that will take significant time to address. Some of those issues may not be solvable at all without redesigning the whole thing from the ground up, which will take a significant amount of time.

We will take a short break and focus on the mode that the game has begun with - the Summoning. It will be a much smaller game but we'll do our best to make it as fun and as polished as we can.

We've requested Valve to issue refunds to everyone who bought the game. We don't know yet whether it's going to be automatically refunded or you might have to do it manually, but we will make a separate post about it.

Thank you all  for playing Mist Hunter and your invaluable feedback you've given to us.
We're really sorry for letting you down.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Mist Hunter - 430Flox
For the last few days we've gotten a fare amount of feedback and we decided to focus on re-balancing the game, in order to make it more accessible and less frustrating.

There is a ton of small under-the-hood changes:

- the enemies have longer pauses between states,
- the number of enemies on the normal difficulty was slightly reduced and became more consistent throughout the levels
- the number of prisms that you can find was significantly increased.
- certain enemy types became less aggressive.
- many more tiny tweaks

If you still find yourself struggling with the pace we added an aim assist feature that can be activated in the settings.

Cheers,

Mist Hunter - 430Flox
The release is tomorrow (5th December)  is 13.00 p.m. EST.

It's less than a day left before Mist Hunters will be released and we are extremely excited about it!

As the first pieces of feedback begin to trickle in we are trying to adapt it and improve as many things as we can.
A new patch will go live in a couple of hours and it has a few big changes.

First of all, the normal difficulty has become easier. We re-balanced enemies health pools and their damage. The game will be less punishing for the new players.  If you wan't more challenge jump to the Hard, but we strongly recommend starting with the normal difficulty.

Secondly, we added visual and audio effects when Mist Hunter takes damage. It should improve the feedback from being attacked, as it wasn't always clear before and led to sudden death.

We also added effects to the death state to smooth out the transition between the game and the death screen.

A window with a few handy tips was added at the begging of the Nexus.  This is not an ideal solution, but should help to understand several key mechanics about the game, while we're making a proper tutorial.

Memory prisms drop chance ans quantity have been re-balanced too. You should be seeing them more often and in bigger quantities.
We also updated the demo, so if you haven't check it out it the best time to do it.

Don't forget to wishlist the game and subscribe to the group or our discord
And please DO share your feedback and thoughts with us. It helps us tremendously.

Thank you,

We've got a very exciting news!
Mist Hunter has finally gotten a released date. Just slightly over a month from now, on
5th of December
you will be able to play full game and join the development process.

By that time we will prepare a pretty detailed road map with planned content and estimate release windows. We will be listening to your feedback and make changes to the road map accordingly.

If you haven't wishlisted Mist Hunter yet, it's the perfect time to hit that button)

Right, with this out of the way, let's talk about the progress and all the new stuff that's been made since our last update.
Those of you who have tried the demo and finished the first levels of Nexus already had a glimpse at the very first boss. But it's just the beginning. At launch you'll face two bosses and this the second one.

Priestess Nimh

Another very substantial part of the game that we added is CODEX. This is the place where you go for to get all the important info about enemies, bosses, stats, skill tree, achievements and so much more. Right now it contains only a fraction of what we have planned and already made, so it will be growing and changing along with the game.

Codex

Thanks for following us and trying the demo out.

Don't for get Mist Hunter goes live on Steam on the 5th December

Stay tuned,

Hi all,

We had to change the scoring system, multipliers and reduce the number of points each enemy can give significantly. Unfortunately, to make sure that the new system is working properly we will have to reset the leaderboards.

One of the reasons we had to make such a drastic change is that one of the players has almost reached the maximum number that the table can hold. The other one is a miscalculation in the way some of the multipliers used to work, sometimes the points could be multiplied several times. It's all been fixed and should work properly.

We've also fixed a bunch of small bugs, added a new set off weapons (not available in the demo) added a crit chance to some of the weapons and many other small changes.

The Mirs' Box

Vega Tool

The Crawling Eye

Wanderer's Head

Elite enemies have received a set of special abilities that make them harder and trickier to fight. You'll definitely want to prioritize them more and try pick them out as fast as possible. A small hint if you see any of these things try to stay away)

This is probably going to be the last update of the demo before the release which are planing to do somewhere in mid-late November.

Stay tuned,

Flox team
