On The 13th of October we announced that Might & Magic Duel of Champions will no longer receive any additional updates. By doing so, we were able to offer you the game for a prolonged period of time, enabling you to play and enjoy it as long as possible. However, we have now decided to shut down the game for good.

Know that this was not an easy decision for us. We’ve shared your passion about Might & Magic Duel of Champions and enjoyed working together with a very dedicated community (that’s you!). Since the game has launched, we have put a lot of effort into Might & Magic Duel of Champions' development and you’re contribution and support have made it all worthwhile. Sure, we’ve been through some ups and downs, but those shared memories and emotions show how a common passion can bring developers and fans closer together in the end. Knowing that you have enjoyed our game is the reason why everyone at Ubisoft loves working in this industry. Thank you for this!

The shutdown of the game will not take place straight away, but on 31st of October, which is still a few months in the future. As long as Might & Magic Duel of Champions will be available, we want to enable you to play it and say goodbye. We also want to provide you with an opportunity to get in touch with your friends or clan members and make sure you can stay connected in the future. Before the game closes on 31st of October, we’ll perform the following preparations:

First, immediately following this announcement we will close the primary shop in which you could purchase virtual currencies and items for real money.
The in-game shop will remain accessible, however, allowing you to convert currencies and purchase content with what you already own or will still gain from the game. Please feel free to spend all your resources, currencies and items in the game now. Go crazy and have fun, try whatever you always wanted to do in the game and enjoy it while it lasts. As a parting gift, there will be a permanent shop discount starting right now. Once the game is closed on 31st of October, all remaining resources, items and currencies in the game will be gone.
In line with our terms of sale, we hereby inform you that there will be no refund of any virtual currency you have spent in the game or for any resources you still may own on shutdown date, nor any conversion of any remaining virtual currency to another game.

Once 31st of October is upon us, we will continue with our final steps. This includes closing the game, but also its website, its forum and its social media channels. They will not be accessible to you any longer. That said, you will still be able to reach here our customer support and community management teams, even after the game has closed.

The new Draft mode is just around the corner, as we approach the new version release we will take a look at the new tournament mode.

In this mode players are able to build a deck of 45 cards from a limited set of cards, from Base Set 2 to Time of Renewal. Once a player has built their deck they can face off against other Draft players to compete for rewards.

Just like with the Jackpot and Swiss tournaments, the Draft will be available once unlocked at the Squire rank. Entry costs 1 tournament ticket.



From the tournament screen you can see your Draft Mode progress, as well as rewards available, we’ll talk about rewards later in the article.




Upon entering the Draft Tournament, you must build a deck. Your first pick will be the hero, this will dictate what cards you will find in your future picks.



After picking your hero, you will be presented with the pools of cards that will build up your deck. In addition to your active pick row, you receive a preview of upcoming picks, use these previews to plan your picks and make your decisions.

To help you with your decisions, we display various stats for the cards picked so far.



With your final pick you will be move to the next phase of deck building. At this point you will have 50 cards, a valid Drafting deck requires 45 cards; 40 Normal cards, 4 Event cards, and 1 Hero card, leaving 5 for your sideboard. Between your matches you can tweak your deck, swapping out cards for those in your sideboard. When you’re happy, confirm your deck and battle other Draft players!




Matches in Draft mode progress just like normal games, there is no time limit. For each game you will receive the usual XP and Gold you would expect in a Quick Game.



Between games you will find the lobby, you can see the current progress of your Draft tournament, your current rewards as well as apply XP and Gold boosts for your next match. You can even tweak your deck from this screen. At any point while in the lobby you can take a break from playing in Draft mode to compete in other game modes. Returning to your Draft tournament from the Tournament screen.

After achieving 10 victories in Draft mode you will complete your tournament. The tournament ends early if you lose 3 times. Any rewards earned will be given, and if you unlocked the Buyout you will be given the option to buy cards from your pool.




Every tournament has rewards and prizes, Draft mode is no different.

In Draft mode, the better you do the greater the prizes. After two wins you will unlock the Buyout option for your card pool.



As well as the Buyout option you will receive a sizeable gold payout on top of those earned in the games.

Your final rewards for competing increase with the more victories you achieve. Prizes range from Base Set 2 packs to Time of Renewal Super packs, and a barrel of gold!

On Friday players purchasing the Time of Renewal DLC on Steam identified an issue where they received only two ToR boosters instead of the two boxes that should have been received.

This issue has since been addressed and is now fixed.

We would like to ask all players who were affected by this to contact our support .

Time of Renewal is a brand new expansion to the Might & Magic: Duel of Champions universe!

This new set contains 170 cards comprising of 24 new cards and 146 rebalanced cards.
As well as the ToR set we are bringing balance passes on a variety of cards from existing sets. Also included in this update are new achievements, animations and effects, as well as client stability improvements.

We are extremely happy to reveal the first bits of information about the next series of cards for Might and Magic: Duel of Champions!

The Griffin Bane set will bring 100 new cards to the battleground, introducing new abilities and mechanics, and will be available around mid-July, 2014.

Set around the story of the Griffin Duchy of the Haven faction, Griffin Bane traces the events leading up to the 2nd Blood Moon Eclipse and the invasion of Demons, as military and political factions prepare for a terrible war.

More cards, teasers and details will be revealed very, very soon on our different social channels. Stay tuned to catch them all!

Since the release of Heart of Nightmares, we've been hard at work on the next features that will be implemented into Duel of Champions. We would like to share a preview of the upcoming changes that you can expect to see in game soon.

Daily Quest overhaul

It will now be possible to forfeit your Daily Quests in order to obtain new ones. This feature will only be available for quests acquired during a previous day. Freshly assigned Daily Quests will not be forfeitable. As such, chain-forfeiting will not be possible.

The general look and feel of the Daily Quests widget will be slightly modified to accommodate the changes.

Campaign flow & Achievements

In order to help new players understand the game better and to give them a taste of PvP matches, progressing through the Campaign will now require players to unlock two Achievements:

• Completing ‘Introduce Yourself’ (Play one ranked duel) will unlock the Windswords campaign’s second mission.
  
• Completing ‘Let’s Get Started!’ (Win five ranked duels) will unlock the Void Rising campaign.

Unranked Duels

It will soon be possible to play DoC without affecting your rank on the Leaderboard. When wanting to play an unranked duel, all you will have to do is check a box before clicking ‘Play’. Playing Unranked duels will still allow you to gain Rewards and to complete your Daily Quests. As such, you will not need to worry about losing Champion Points in order to complete a Quest. This feature will be ideal for theorycrafting and testing new decks.

There will not be a separate queue for Unranked play. Players that decide to play either Ranked or Unranked will be matched against each other.

Refer a Friend

Soon you will be able invite your friends to play DoC through an integrated referral system. Referred players will start their game experience with additional cards.

Additionally, you will earn bonus rewards for bringing new players to the game! Any time a player you refer completes a duel or purchases Seals, you will earn extra currency for free. You could potentially even receive Wildcards or Tournament Tickets if your referred player accomplishes certain tasks. More details to come on this soon.

Spectator Mode Beta

The all new in-game spectator mode will allow you to watch ongoing games that your Friends are participating in. You will also be able to watch other matches during Swiss Tournaments while you wait in the lobby. While using Spectator Mode, both players’ hands are hidden from the watcher.
