Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite will not feature at this year's Evo tournament - sounding the death knell for the embattled crossover fighting game.

Overnight, officials announced the eight-game lineup for Evo - the biggest fighting game tournament in the world - and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite was conspicuous by its absence.

It means this year's Evo will be the first without a Marvel game, and is surely the final nail in the coffin for Infinite. Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite has sold one million copies since its launch in September 2017. Capcom had expected sales of two million.

Capcom's video game business had a strong quarter, despite crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite flopping hard.

In a press release reporting the financial results for the nine months ending 31st December 2017, Capcom confirmed Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite had sold one million copies since its September launch. The company had projected sales of two million.

That's quite the shortfall, and what amounts to a significant flop for the latest entry in Capcom's once great fighting game series.

Capcom's revealed some cool new costumes coming to fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite next month.

My favourite is Haggar's Metro City Mayor costume, which gives the old bruiser a nice shirt and tie.

I also like Frank West's Proto Man costume.

Capcom's released a trailer showing off Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite DLC characters Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Venom for the first time.

The trio come hit the crossover fighting game on 5th December, Capcom said.

The video below shows off each character's level three supers, which are appropriately flashy. Fan-favourite Venom looks the coolest character to me, although his voice acting sounds off.
