Every victim stays at home. No one to rob, no one to kill, no fun. Our evil minions were sad...
So we needed to do something!
That's why our team has decided to donate all of Wild Factor's May 2020 profits from the sale of Machiavillain to organizations fighting Covid!

And with that,
the plague update:
We added the survival kit during this difficult time:

Toilet paper.

Always have one at hand when you cut yourself while shaving.

Medical mask

Looks cool on you when you do evil stuff.

Hand sanitizer


And:
- The virus event has been deactivated.
- You can get food poisoning now if you eat food that went bad. Keep your human flesh fresh!

Bug fix:
- Fix enemy spam to map border sometimes blocked.
- Fix pathway can no longer replace the regular floor (unless you demolish it first).
- Fix dig rock not working on a particular rock position.
- Fix food go bad level transfer during a split.
- Fix load save bug (electricity build on map border).
- Fix load save bug (task not init).

the survival update is here!
A new character: the Bee Queen



New defensive structures
Laser tower, wolf trap, and a new defensive tower.  




New furnitures:
 A skeleton lamp and a new luxury shelf (two spaces on a single tile). 



New weapons and items:

- Staff of Death: A Thousand souls have been imprisoned in this cristal. Almost always kills instantly the target, but can only be used a few times. Choose your target wisely.
- Astropistol: Found on a planet with 3 suns. Fast and powerful. Don't try to stop it with your hand. It only works in movies.
- Bathroom sink: ridiculous, heavy, slow, but brutal.
- Crowbar: A classic!
- Sniper rifle: Stay far from your target. Good for killer apprentices.
- Rusty sword: I hope you're vaccinated against tetanus.
- Sabre: Light and fast.
- lumberjack shirt: Timeless fashion.

Fork:The actual fork used by a famous killer to eat brains.
PLUS Peasant hat, Cursed chest, Head nail, Cheerleader pompom...


Also:
- New enemies wave system (more group of enemies). You will have to survive!
- Better attack system (UI improved and friendly fire system)
- Better UI for electricity. (get info on your electric network)
- You can recycle weapons, items, and tombstones to keep your mansion clean.
- Tombstones spread evilness now.
- Many bug fixes and quality of life improvement.  (full list of bugfixes on the steam forum soon)

Electric Features

- The impressive Finger of Evil! A machine that gives you the power to generate lightning! You can zap victims, heroes or even your own minion to make them go faster.



- Batteries, wood generators, treadmill generators, wires.
- Tesla coils to electrocute your enemies.
- Alarm and Presence sensors (to activate/deactivate alarm).
- Lightning rod (to get electricity from thunder and protect your mansion)
- Mobile phone jammer. Don't let your victim call for help!
- Electric door (closed when powered by electricity).



- Some furniture now need electricity. Candles need to be lit by your minion.
- Reduce the cost of things that need electricity.

New Minion

- Succubus: Sucks the life out of your enemies.


Customisations:

- Custom map: configure a map to your will.


- Difficulty level: normal, hard very hard, so you can play casual, or scream all the way.


Environment

- You can dig graves to get ancient artefacts or wake up more-or-less friendly monsters!
- Dead monsters leave a grave behind.



Improvements

- Better sounds: more than 100 new sound FX.
- Click on an item in the inventory to select it and focus on it (finding weapon).
- Improved sound spatialization.
- Be able to reorder the crafting queue.
- Be able to configure your minion IA (Aggressive, Defend, Neutral)
- Be able to change sleep and feed priorities (in the Task manager)
- Double click on the monster list, make the camera follow him.
- Display zone covered by lights.
- Reduce game size (-80 mo download size).

Bug fixes

- Bug: Achievement: killing a hero not counted correctly.
ACHIEVEMENT_KILL_HEROES_LEVEL1
- Bug: Event "give brain" doesn’t come back.
- Bug: music volume not 0 when restart game.
- Bug: hypnotized people should still be able to be attacked by minions
- Bug: skeleton turrets shoot at victims even when a wall is blocking line of sight.
- Bug: dogs seem to be ignoring the fire hydrant.
- Bug: if you have 2 rows of minion portraits, their portraits will cover the popup notifications on the screen.
- Bug: if you have enough minions to scroll down in the job board, the lowest minion is difficult to see coz they're covered by the menu graphics.
- Bug: heroes seem to have stopped spawning when I reached high suspicion. it says "villagers are aware of my murderous activities!" but no angry village mob is showing up, no heroes are showing up either.
- Bug: Activate. dr. frankenstein just humps the targeted minion but nothing happens.
- Bug: Remove the Evilium in gold storage containers.
- Bug: hypnotized minions (ie: hypnotized by the vampire in vacation event) are taken out of the roster, but you can "hire" them again to stop the hypnosis, although they give everyone else the "saw a minion die" loyalty debuff.
- Bug: I'm still not getting the "kill virgin last" bonus, I only get a reward for "kill them when alone" bonus.
- Bug: When a monster is blocked (surrounded by walls), other monsters stop working.
- Bug: Lamps light the room even when not yet plug to electricity done
- Bug: AutoSave doesn’t seem to work (need to test it in standalone build).
- Bug: Detector switch needs to be white when not built (configure gamespritecolor) - When the alarm is not built, the flag should not be displayed.
- Bug: Fog of war setting loaded at the wrong time.
- Bug: Fix treadmill display bug.
- Bug: Fix maintain craft stop after a load.
- Bug: Build several object Energy on each other.
- Bug: Fix when resource to craft are not accessible.
- Bug: Victim saw the minions through the wall or closed door
- Bug: Victims are scared because there is no light
- Bug: Phone jammer active even when not powered,
- Bug: Moving rotating wall, erasing wall build preview.
- Bug: Remove afraid no light on door map cell.

  • We are in the official selection of the Ping Awards!
    One of the most prestigious award in France.


  • Some of you have noticed that a new beta version is up. with bug fixes (and probably new bugs for the new features :) ). In addition to Electricity related features, there are new ones like you can dig Tombstone now etc.

the electricity is not yet ready, but we made a lot of bug fixes and some improvement based on your feedback :)
So we thought it would be nice to release it before the next content update.

Improvement:
- Buttons to demolish/cancel action (with shortcut).
- Autosave limit the quantity and frequency.
- Add [select all] button.
- Increase gold storage capacity from 500 to 700 Increase Wood normal/evil capacity from 600 to 800.
- Every monster can get a weapon and to compensate psychopath cooldown for weapon is divided in half.
- Esc key bring the setting menu.
- Button to start/stop tasks (Fight/working mod) on individual monster.
- New event manager (virus events shouldn't be close).
- Post office closing during the night (your minion won't bring letter and cross a victim path).
- Clown reworks (don't scare victims).

Bug fixes:
- Victims enter map with bleeding status.
- Victims appears at the bottom left corner after a load.
- Victims not arriving after load.
- Day counter blocked after a load.
- Some mobs respawn after a load.
- Monsters don't bring letters to storage.
- A Push trap placed next to a rotatable wall trap will not push the human when he passed the rotatable wall.
- Mad scientist Achievement unlocks retro compatibility old save.
- Spam email counter is displayed in reverse.
- Rat of the event mystical chest fight each other.
- Dogs can use phones.
- Victims get costume cook after a load.
- Time /day stops increasing.
- Dog increase suspicion when they leave the map.
- Esc key bug on fight skill points distribution screen.
- Hypnotize victim don't phone and are not scared.
- Minion's face doesn't change after recruiting it.
- Music change when food merchants.
- Body part going through walls (and may scare victims).
- Weapons added back to the enemy after a load.
- Hero doesn't drop weapons.
- Victim sometimes sees minions through the walls.
- Can't attack when the target is on a bed.
- Poison of the gaz master doesn't work on victims.
- Merchant sound on arrival can't be heard from far.
- Feedback messages when victims are scared overlay when there is more than one.

As always we want to thank you for your continued support!

We are announcing the first feature and content update!

It will be the electricity 

What will be new:
- Batteries, generators, wires.
- Presence sensors (to activate/deactivate).
- Lightning rod.
- Mobile phone jammer.
- Electric door (closed when powered by electricity).
- The finger of evil! It will be a machine that recharges with quite a lot of electricity, but will give you the power to generate lightning! You will be able to zap victims, heroes or even your own minion to make them go faster.

What will change:
- Some furniture (like fridge, light,...) will need electricity to work now. (we will readjust the balancing)

We will release this update for the end of July/ beginning of August.

And we will continue fixing bugs of course.

Dear fellow Villains,

Again we want to thank you for continues support. It really is amazing to see that so many of you enjoy the game so much on a daily basis!

We do our best to improve the game every day. We have a new update for you that addresses the following issues:

- Save/Load bugs: 93% fixed.
- Lab XP gain doesn't work when monster wears glasses.
- Rotating walls work on non attracted victims.
- Monsters with increased health from lab return to default health after sleeping in special bed.
- Turret just shoots sometimes at nothing.
- Achievements "all research done" and "100 days "not always trigger.
- Turret not always reloading.
- Some Heroes Attack victims.
- Dogs have wrong sound when die.
- Sarcophagus increases the max hp but shows a -1hp icon.
- Fire Hydrant can be placed on the road.
- Saving a file and name it with something with " K " it will activate fight stance.
- Fire can't be extinguished after a tv as been burned.

Besides this, we have some exciting news for you! For the next big patch, that will be released end of july, we have planned a major content update that is all about electricity.

We will post more details about that next week.

It's amazing to see the mansions you come up with!

Here is a new patch including:

Save/Load bugs: 90% fixed
Monster not using the table
All monsters idle when 1 room is fully enclosed
1 head appearing in 3 fridge items slot, blocking monster for working
Victims escaping without entering a room that has no other door
Victim not entering when fancy door is replaced by regular door
After loading victims group don't follow the leader and are stuck
Victims stuck in the doorframe between room (when low frame rate)
Victims becoming transparent when scared + starving after load
Victims using hidden door when first room only has hidden door and entry door
Removing lamp after a load = victims act as if light still here (not scared)

We also started balancing the advanced furnitures that require metal (metal, plates, cogs) following your feedbacks.

We are working on the next bug fixes update for the 22nd.
There might be another one after if needed.
But after that we will be able to focus on adding content and features (while still fixing eventual minor bugs). We'll start discussing it with you on the Steam forum after the next patch.
