Operation AMD Driver Solution was a success!

I have a welcome follow up to the previously mentioned AMD Driver Issue we encountered earlier.

By operating the "AMD Catalyst 15.8 Beta," which should be available in the following link on Aug 31st 2015 (currently version is 15.6) Players should be able to remedy the driver issues the team discovered earlier.

* The user will need to manually download and install it, as it is still a β version.
* Since it is the β version, and it's presented 'as is without a full guarantee from AMD,' we ask that the users install under their own risk, and possibly backup their system.

We hope this addresses the issues of many players and thank you for your patience as AMD arrived at a solution.

A strong man doesn't need to read the future, he makes his own driver patches.

Thanks to your feedback we've encountered an issue with the newest AMD driver "AMD Catalyst 15.7.1" where MGSV: GZ will experience crashes when launching the game.

The crashes mentioned above weren't observed when using the previous driver "AMD Catalyst 15.7.0".

You and I will meet again in battle.

We're currently looking into this issue for both Ground Zeroes and any potential issues for the upcoming release of The Phantom Pain.

Thank you all for your help in identifying this problem and your patience as we work to fix it.

This is the liberty we've won for ourselves: Steam Forums!

We've incorporated the now player-tested, Big Boss approved Beta test into an official patch. Now without signing up for the optional Beta process every user can take advantage of the repairs, safeguards and improvements made to the release version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Make me feel alive again!

The patch notes are small but significant adding the following:

- When the Camera Y Axis is set to Reverse, the camera movement with the mouse will reflect the change
- Under some conditions, there was a "Low Memory" error a few minutes after launching the game. This issue has been fixed.
- When some USB devices were connected the game didn't launch. This issue has been fixed.

Additionally the patch also has incorporated some community identified bugs:

- Certain gunfire animations weren't properly displayed. This issue has been fixed.
- The animation for empty shells ejecting during gunfire wasn't properly displayed. This issue has been fixed.
- The Windows Screensaver, under certain conditions, interrupted gameplay. This issue has been addressed.

Please do inform us if you run into any new errors or problems with the addition of this patch.

While no additional major patches are planned for implementation we’ll continue to evaluate the discussions here and work to make adjustments if necessary.

We never felt truly alive unless we were staring bugs in the face. Thank you immensely for your assistance in reporting concerns and helping us confirm them fixed.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES - Konami Man
December 18, 2014 – El Segundo, Calif. – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today released the PC version of METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES via Steam’s digital distribution service. The PC edition of METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES marks the first use of 4K compatibility in the METAL GEAR SOLID series, boasting an increase in the number of simultaneous light sources, the number of models that can be displayed on-screen and increased shadow resolution. The game is available now for an SRP of $19.99.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES takes place in 1975 and sets in motion a series of events that culminate in the stunning plot lines of the upcoming METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN. GROUND ZEROES stars Big Boss - legendary hero and mercenary - as he infiltrates a sprawling secret prison base called ‘Camp Omega’ in Cuba on a rescue mission. He soon finds himself alone behind enemy lines, in a truly non-linear mission that showcases key advances to the series made possible by the use of Kojima Productions’ FOX Engine.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES is centered on a large open environment, with missions where time of day and weather cause a dynamic effect on the game and its content. The game offers total freedom of movement within its missions by allowing users to choose how they engage guards, what routes they traverse and who they rescue. As such, the game offers incredible replay value, encouraging players to revisit its content in order to find more secrets. Furthermore, the game features an online global ranking system where players can compete in unique in-game and mission challenges, as well as achievements to see how they compare against others around the world.
