Today, we’re bringing some more improvements and solutions to the problems you’ve encountered, based on the feedback received after the last patch. We hope you’ll like it!

Bug fixes and Optimizations
  • Fixed the game crash when playing in the first-person view mode with DOF enabled
  • Fixed the game crash in tutorial
  • Fixed the limitation of mods quantity enabled simultaneously that caused all of them to disable at once
  • Some improvements for aiming in the first-person view
  • Several optimizations for pathfinding and terraforming

We’re excited to bring you several crash fixes and other optimizations that should provide you with a more pleasant gameplay experience. Take a look at the full list below!

Bug fixes and Optimizations
  • Fixed several game crashes related to the navigation issues
  • Fixed several game crashed related to render threading
  • Fixed light render for cases when there’s a lot of light sources on the scene
  • Decreased the amount of video RAM consumed
  • Fixed issues on fields and in the gardens that would sometimes cause the garden bed to blink
  • Several optimizations for garden and field render
  • Fixed several issues that caused music to turn off in the game
  • Fixed the issue that caused villagers to occasionally die from hypothermia without any cause
  • Improved the way villagers occupy houses: they can now attempt to switch buildings with other people when trying to get a house that’s best suited for their needs
  • Several optimizations in render-effects
  • Several optimizations in GUI render

First we want to thank you for being patient with us. Now, after a short break we are back on track! In this update you can see a lot of bug fixes, optimizations and overall improvements, including a lot of modder friendly additions. We will release more detailed mod-friendly related patch notes later on. Stay tuned!

Patch notes (ver. 1.1.6705):

New features and tweaks:
  • Added new functions and bugfixes for the modders SDK
  • Implemented color grading. You can now work with color corrections via your mods
  • You can now control in-game sound via your mods
  • Improved HDR algorithm to work more adequate
  • Tweaked and improved AO and Bloom effects
  • You can now see wetness effect on the surfaces during the rain
  • Improved overall look of the border lines between water and terrain and objects

Bug Fixes and Optimizations:
  • Fixed some of the crashes occurring in a Save/Load window
  • Fixed AI navigation and general AI crashes
  • Optimized RAM usage
  • Improved AI pathfinding algorithms
  • Fixed a couple of memory leaks
  • Improved and optimized the lighting
  • Fixed minimap bugs
  • Removed the snow from underwater objects

As always, we are continuously - and passionately - working hard on the development and overall improvements of Forest Village for you guys to enjoy (we enjoy doing it, too!)
As we progress, we’re making sure to squash any bugs that may arise, and taking any opportunity to improve the performance, which are the two features in today’s patch!

  • Multi-threaded calculation support improved, which should increase the performance of the game
  • A couple of AI navigation bug fixes
  • Save file deletion has been reworked (several crashes eliminated)

We’d like to share our happiness with you - our many optimizations has made it possible to now play maps that are 4x times larger! We’re looking forward to see what kind of towns your villages evolve into on these vast lands!

Patch notes (ver. 1.1.6611):

New features and tweaks:
  • You can now start a new game on a map that is 4x times bigger
  • Added notification icons about the lack of food/tools and also diseases and fires
  • You can now see icons of all buildings when pressing the Tab button
  • You can now rename your village and villagers
  • You can now define your own hotkeys in the settings
  • Some models and textures have been improved/reworked
  • A few balance tweaks for schools and hospitals

Bug fixes and optimizations:
  • Significantly optimized AI pathfinding code - in some cases performance can be 5-10x better!
  • Optimized and fixed a couple of bugs in the lighting system

Along with some Christmas content we’ve decided to add a bunch of REAL reasons to play the game during the holidays! Pavement, patios, steel and a large amount of gameplay tweaks, visual additions and modding support.

New features and tweaks:
  • Added Pavement that can be constructed by your villagers to turn your village into a city!
  • Bloomery for steel creation
  • Added steel and steel tools
  • Each tool in your villager’s hands have a separate distinctive model now
  • Some Christmas content has been added to the game
  • Figures of 9999 are turned into 10k in the inventory screen
  • Added some loading screen visuals
  • Added an antialiasing setting. The graphics settings window is divided in two parts now.
  • Added some new functions for modders
  • Increased the quality of some textures
  • Tooltips are more informative now
  • Tweaked AO and Bloom effects

Hey, villagers!

We’re staying true to our word and are continuing the development and improvement of our game. In today’s patch, we’ve added some goodies that should improve your overall gameplay and modding experience!

Patch notes (ver. 1.1.6379):

New features and tweaks:
  • Minimap improved. You can now see where are sides of the world, icons of disasters, fires and plagues.
  • Statistics improved. Implemented heatmap visualization of created/consumed resources.
  • You can now pick starting location by yourself. You can choose an option to start with minimum of buildings.
  • You can put residential buildings on pause now. Villagers will not move into those houses.
  • Implemented a Fish Farm building with an increased fishing range in the distant sea.
  • Added a bit of Halloween content here and there
  • Overall modding experience improved

Bug fixes:
  • A LOT of minor and small bugfixes
