After months of development, improvements and community feedback, Escape Z finally reaches its Version 1.0 and officially exits Early Access!
A major milestone that brings with it numerous new features, refinements, and a completely revamped visual identity.

Hey Puzzlers,

besides a bunch of smaller bugfixes the latest update now added full controller support for Xbox Controller and Steamdeck - perfect for puzzling while leaning back on the couch or on the go!

We worked hard to get this in for the last weekend of NextFest, so if you stumble across any bugs or rough edges let us know in the community hub =)

We had already pushed controller support briefly yesterday but that update introduced an blocking bug in the tutorial, that is now fixed in the latest version.

Still need to put the Meatiator minigun to good use, and what better way than a mod contest where you have to mow down as many ICE agents as possible? Just uploaded a patch with a new object called "iceAgent" complete with texture and face icon (thanks to dudithebudi).

The rules are simple: let the player use the minigun to execute as many Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as you can. LAPD would also be acceptable if you wanna make the texture. For police, I'm sayin', "Fuck you, punk", Readin' my rights and shit, it's all junk. Don't get arrested out there.

Deadline is August 5th at 11:59pm. First place gets $60. Runner-ups will get some Steam keys (I'm guessing there will be multiple submissions this time).

Also, there should be another patch out in July with new features for the world editor. Don't wanna be specific yet in case the features don't work out.

A couple of fresh toggles for the database generator.

Because we like keeping DMT bang-up-to-date, and occasionally surrender to pure silliness... you’ll now find two brand-new options in the generator menu. They won’t make the game any better (strictly speaking), but we’re sure at least one brave tester will put them to glorious misuse.

  • One switch sprinkles extra-daft nicknames onto players.

  • The other summons a fearsome, super-stacked team: breeze to the title with them, or face them as the league’s final boss.

As ever, the choice is entirely yours. Have fun, and do tell us how it all goes horribly right (or delightfully wrong).

Shadows of Duat - Atrox1156
Some of your earned achievements may not appear on Steam. Fortunately, Shadows of Duat has an internal database that stores all of your achievements. As a temporary solution until we resolve the connectivity issues with Steam, we've created this tool, which you can access from the Main Menu, as shown in the video:



You'll now be able to view the game's internal achievement database. If any of your achievements are there but aren't reflected on Steam, you'll need to enter the encrypted name and number of the achievement, as shown in the video, and then click Check. If all goes well, Steam will give you the missing achievement.
