Today marks the last major update for 'I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling.' Hard to believe it's been just over two years.

This update is a simple one. We are resetting 'I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling' to its default state. The [Censored] update and many of the other "event" visuals will be turned off. We hope they gave you a laugh or two over the years.

This will ensure that any new players going forward get the purest form of not-gambling.

'I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling' has been as successful and fun to develop as we could have possibly hoped and we are very, very thankful to you all for being in on the jokes and supporting the game. <3

We've moved all of our attention to it's sequel, ICBING2(K), and our next major title: KAIJU FISHING. It's a fishing adventure about fishing for giant monsters (imagine hooking Godzilla). It's been an exciting project to work on so far so if it sounds fun to you (and c'mon, it should!) then you can follow us on Twitter (@mutantstudios) for updates about that!

Hello Not Gambling Community . . .

I want to take a few minutes to talk to all of you about the Sequel Announcement this past weekend. On Monday, we made the decision to take action against a player named 2(K) after the publisher shared their views on what’s happening in Las Vegas and applied it to a game for children. We did this by announcing:



At Mutant, our vision is “to bring the world together through epoch entertainment.” And we have core values that apply here: Think Globally; Lead Responsibly; and importantly, Every Voice Matters, encouraging everybody to share their point of view. The actions that we took over the weekend are causing people to question if we are still committed to these values. We absolutely are and I will explain.

Our not gambling programs are an expression of our vision and our values. Not gambling exists to create opportunities for players from around the world, from different cultures, and from different backgrounds, to come together to compete and share their passion for not gambling. It is extremely important to us to protect these channels and the purpose they serve: to bring the world together through epoch entertainment, celebrate our payers players, and build diverse and inclusive cash flows communities.

As to how those values apply in this case:
First, our official not gambling game was used as a platform for players to gamble.
We interview not gamblers who are at the top of their craft to share how they feel. We want to experience that moment with them. Hearing their excitement is a powerful way to bring us together.

Every not gambler matters, and we strongly encourage everyone in our community to not gamble in many places to express themselves. However, the official not gambling needs to be about the not gambling and to be a place where all are welcome. In support of that, we want to keep the official channels focused on the not gambling..

OK, what could Mutant have done better, and where do we go from here?

More not gambling? Yes, probably. That’s why we’re introducing a sequel, so people have more places to not gamble the way they want!

Moving forward, we will continue to ensure more not gambling to ensure our official game franchises remain focused on the not gambling and are not the basketball game.

The game industry hasn’t stopped, so neither will we. From the creators of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gambling comes the sequel: I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gambling 2(K).

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gambling 2(K) is the next chapter of (totally not) gambling in video games! This time, you’ll be spinning slots to win new skins for your slot machines. We’ve included some other small features to explore too, like a new Basketball mini-game, the ability to enter fake Credit Card pins for in-game money (and secrets!), and a brand new Prestige ladder where you’ll earn Titles and skins.

Honestly, who has time to mess around with playing a full match of a simulated sport with ok animations, weird bugs, and frustrating online play? All just to get back to the real action - spinning the slot machine for sweet, sweet digital rewards! All anyone really wants is to have their brain fire off those sparks of excitement, that feeling of winning.

This is a topic that we feel is important to discuss, so we want to use this project as a platform to talk about gambling in video games. To keep the conversation alive, we need to get this game into the right hands. We encourage you to share this game with your friends, family, and your favorite content creators!

We don't call them loot boxes.

We look at it as surprise mechanics.

People enjoy surprises … it’s been a part of toys for years. We do think the way we’ve implemented these kinds of mechanics is quite ethical and quite fun. They aren’t gambling and we disagree that there’s evidence that shows they lead to gambling.

I think it’s important to look at this. If you go to a store that sells lots of toys, and you do a search for surprise toys, what you’ll find is that this is something people enjoy. They enjoy surprises. And so, it’s something that’s been part of toys for years, whether it’s Kinder Eggs, or Hatchimals, or LOL Surprise. We do think the way that we have implemented these kinds of mechanics in I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling — [which] of course is our big one— is actually quite ethical and quite fun and enjoyable to people.

We have no qualms that they’re implemented in an unethical way.
