What’s up, Reckoners!

It’s been a hot, HOT minute since we’ve queued up an update, haven’t we? From slaying mighty beast after mightier beast, we’re getting closer and closer to finally bringing this game to YOU, The Gamers.

We've got a lot of ground to cover, so strap in for one hell of an update!

Welcome to the folks who found us through the Game Devs of Color Expo! Our tiny crew consists of esports lovers (and haters) from all walks of life, and we take extra pride in being able to share the good, good (read: terrible) news about the mighty church of esports to an audience as diverse as we are. 

In honor of our presence at this online event, we're super stoked to drop a fresh new story-driven demo that introduces you to the player character of Rafaela (or your name of choice) on her MMG gaming house move-in day! 

Set three weeks into the game after you’ve successfully made it onto the team, you'll get to experience your new teammates face-to-face for the first time as a cohesive group of coworkers with their own interpersonal dynamics.

Our Toya and Kae routes can give you a taste of what's in store as far as animations for our sprites go! Over the next week, we'll be dropping more updates to show off sprite animations for Senny, Daphne, and Grace, too!

Our new demo is live for all to try out! We can't wait to hear your thoughts, so dive right in and have fun!

We've gone through a few delays over the years in search of that perfect balance between authenticity, heart, and fun. It was tough, and we had our (more than) fair share of ups and downs, but we think we've finally cracked it!

HEG will now see a guaranteed full release in early 2026 on Steam and Xbox! We're still in talks with Playstation and Nintendo Switch, but we'll have more goodies (and exciting news!) to share leading up to launch.

We've crossed that coveted threshold of 100% art completion! Experienced narrative game players (and devs!) will know that art can often be the heaviest lift for visual novel development. We're super pleased to report that all of our backgrounds, illustrations, and UI art assets are complete, and we've got some tease previews to share!

Lastly, we all know how dangerous it is to go alone - especially in our current game development climate! Our team is lucky to have friends in scary places, and we're super excited to tease our upcoming "trip" to visit a mysterious town plagued by sinister happenings. 

What do we mean by this, exactly? You'll have to stay tuned to find out!

But we promise, we're just as excited to dive into the world of this game as you'll be (if you aren't already!)

Steam achievements are now live with today's update.

• Added Steam achievements!

Added a "Current Height Offset" meter

This meter tracks how high or low the height offset is, and is available in the pause menu alongside the increase and decrease height buttons. Hopefully this should be a smoother experience.

Made changes to the tutorial and the apartment

There are a myriad of new signs in the tutorial and a few ceilings in the frontrooms apartment have been raised up slightly to provide more breathing room.

Significantly improved some Sh4dy Gr3y sublevels

Levels 0zero and 2two got the most touch-ups. Level 0zero has much lusher foliage and better-looking ground.

Now for some rapid-fire changes:

Made level 6 darker

Improved the "Remove Door Names" option

Added new music to level Theta

Slightly nerfed buckshot

Added a sandbox capsule for the MEG Guards (level 250)

Fixed some odd audio issues with the hub

Improved some misc tiles in the poolrooms

Hello!
We have updated the following in this latest hotfix:
- Some playtesters with less than normal widescreens were experiencing UI being off screen or hidden behind other UI and we have patched this so that everything can be seen.
- Fixed visual errors running in the background
- Fixed Level up stat buttons that were either showing the incorrect thing, prematurely being locked, and hover text was going off screen
- some users experienced no music when clicking on "no" button to show the intro scene again.

I’ve just released the Demo of Ship Miner!!! This is a great milestone for me and the game.

The game is far from over but I believe the Demo shows part of the core experience of the game.

The idea is to keep working on the game and update the Demo frequently in order to improve it and communicate better and better what the game is gonna be in the end.
