Hitman - Game of The Year Edition launched on GOG.com this week - and immediately sparked a row about DRM.

GOG is a storefront whose brand is built upon selling games "DRM free" - that is, they can be played offline.

Hitman's GOG page, like that of so many games on the platform, highlights that it is DRM free. "No activation or online connection required to play," reads the prominent message.

Copenhagen-based Hitman developer IO Interactive has announced that it's opening a second development studio, to be situated in Malm , Sweden.

The new studio will, according to CEO Hakan Abrak, operate in tandem with IO's existing team, and will "strengthen [the company's] commitment to deliver exceptional content to the Hitman franchise, community and all our fans".

Establishing a second development studio will also, says Abrak, enable IO to "expand our muscles for creating brand-new and exciting endeavours, new universes, new franchises."

A logo for Hitman 2 popped up on the Warner Bros. website before being pulled offline.

The logo appeared after a couple of teaser tweets from the Hitman and Warner Bros. Games accounts. An announcement is due at 6pm on Thursday, 7th June.

Back in April, developer IO Interactive and Warner Bros. signed a worldwide publishing and distribution agreement for Hitman, which saw Hitman: Definitive Edition come out in shops on 18th May. So, it doesn't come as a big surprise to see Warner the likely publisher of the next Hitman game.

Elusive Targets have returned to Hitman following the launch of the title's Game of the Year edition earlier this month.

We knew this feature would be making a reappearance, however it has now been revealed the first target to be reactivated is the Forger (Sergei Larin), who will be in Paris for 10 days starting from today.

Elusive Targets are unique marks which players only have one chance to eliminate - you either succeed or fail. While playing the contract, players must use clues from the briefing video and photographs provided to track down the target, learn their patterns and come up with the best way to bump them off.

Fox and Hulu are teaming up to create a Hitman television series, according to Deadline.

The pilot script is to be written by Derek Kolstad, creator and writer of the John Wick films, with the intention to stick as closely as possible to the mythology of the Hitman games - something the two previously released Hitman films largely failed at.

Interestingly, Deadline's report also states there are two Hitman games in development at Io Interactive. We already know about one game in development, which was confirmed last week, but the other is much more of a mystery.
